Bordeaux's historic core—including the Place de la Bourse and the Miroir d'eau (water mirror)—lines the Garonne, but most visitors view it from the quay rather than the river itself. For an unparalleled vantage point, this cruise heads out onto the water, and includes a guide covering the city's history and architecture, plus a glass of Bordeaux wine and a traditional canelé pastry served onboard.

Drive the Médoc yourself, with a GPS audio guide that plays automatically as you go. Your booking unlocks the whole region. Pick your date and starting point, Bordeaux, Margaux or Pauillac, choose the châteaux you want from the eighteen mapped along the D2, and the app builds your personal route with turn-by-turn narration. The stories cover why this ground grows Cabernet: the gravel the Pyrenees sent down two rivers, the estuary that holds off the frost, the Dutch engineers who drained the marsh from 1599, the brokers who ranked the châteaux in 1855 without tasting a glass, and Vauban's fort guarding the water. No group, no schedule, no guide; stop for a tasting, take the Lamarque ferry across to Blaye, eat on the quay at Pauillac, replay anything. Everything downloads offline, so it keeps working out on the peninsula. You'll need a car and a designated driver; tastings are paid at each château and most require a booking. Also works with Apple Carplay and Android Auto!

Discover Bordeaux on a 3-hour guided bike tour covering 9 miles (14 km) of historic streets, green spaces, and street art. Ride comfortable Dutch bikes with helmets, baskets, and an exclusive tasting of Bordeaux’s canelé pastry included. Guides share personal stories and local tips in small groups of up to 12 guests, with a relaxed pace and no megaphones. Choose between regular and electric bikes for a personal and eco-friendly experience.
