Caroline was a great guide. She was knowledgeable and even brought a book with illustrations that helped along the tour. The only part we disliked was waiting in a long line in the sun.
Response from Host, Oct 2026
"Caroline and her book of illustrations: a great way to picture ancient Rome as it was, Becky! Thanks too for the honest note about the long wait in the sun, which is never fun in Rome. A guide's enthusiasm and judgment can shape an entire visit, and it sounds like hers made the difference.

Tour started 15 minutes late and was rushed from the start. Five of our group members got left behind as the tour guide sped down many stairs and across a road before even looking to see if everyone was with him which we were not. Tour company did not tell the guide that one of our group members had low vision and should have been alerted about the stairs. He spent a lot of time just talking in Al Cove’s rather than actually showing the stadium which was very brief. Other companies seem to be getting a lot of information as they walked but this guy preferred not to do that Accommodations were eventually made for people with a stroller and people who could not use the stairs but they were awkward for the other members of the group. Tour of the Colosseum seemed very very short. Time on Palatine Hill was interesting but the forum tour was also very brief.
Response from Host, Oct 2026
Sherry, thank you for taking the time to explain your experience in detail. The concerns you raised about the pace of the tour, members of the group being left behind, and the handling of accessibility needs are important to us and are not representative of the level of service we aim to provide.
We would like to identify the guide assigned to your group and review exactly what happened, including how the low-vision requirement and the other mobility needs were communicated and managed.
Please send your booking reference number, along with any additional details you remember, to feedback@crowntours.com so our team can investigate the situation properly.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Henry was amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate and made our visit to the colosseum and forum a wonderful experience! Highly recommend this tour and the small group size. Rome is busy and the small size made a big difference in being able to see everything we wanted to see.
Response from Host, Sept 2026
Your review of ancient Rome made our day, Suzanne. It's good to hear the small-group format gave you a more comfortable way to take in such a busy site. It means a lot to know the mix of useful context and a friendly welcome made the visit feel complete.

This was a very information-packed tour! Janina was a great, knowledgeable guide & took some great pictures for us! This is the way to get the forum, pallentine hill & coliseum all in. Doing it on our own, we would have missed so much! Thank you for the tour Janina!
Response from Host, Sept 2026
Janina sounds like she made every stop count, from sharing the history to capturing some great photos for you. Michael, We’re glad her guidance helped you see and understand so much more of the Colosseum, Forum, and Palatine Hill than you would have discovered alone.

This was my first tour in which the tour was provided by a large tour company. It was crowded and a bit chaotic but I think that’s unavoidable given the volume of tourists that visit these sites daily. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and nice.
Response from Host, Sept 2026
Thank you Elisa for sharing such a balanced first impression. We’re glad your guide was both knowledgeable and kind, while also recognizing that the crowds and the sense of chaos took something away from the experience. Your feedback is genuinely useful to us.

Not too much walking. Rained hard in the beginning for our tour but the tour guide answered all our questions and was very informative
Response from Host, Sept 2026
A hard downpour is quite a way to begin a Colosseum tour! It’s wonderful to know your guide kept things informative, answered all your questions, and made the experience work without too much walking. Thank you Nolan for joining us.

It’s A LOT of walking and stairs, HOT in August, but hearing the information was worth every bit of it. Zara (I think) was fantastic. Her English was good, she was very informative, and overall a great guide.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Dear Misty,
Thank you for the great review! August heat and all those steps can certainly make the Colosseum a workout, so we’re glad the history and explanations made it worthwhile.
We’re especially happy to hear that Zara’s clear English, knowledge, and guidance made such a strong impression.

Both the colosseum and forum were as fascinating and amazing as we expected. We were so glad we were able to skip the long lines as part of this tour.
While our guide Loriana was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable, we did have trouble understanding her some of the time. And we would have preferred a faster pace.
