The hot springs were spectacular! Such a beautiful backdrop surrounding the thermal pools and just an absolutely beautiful experience. Briosh our tour guide made our experience even better. He provided great information and was very friendly and helpful. We recommend this tour for everyone visiting! And with some luck you will also have the wonderful Briosh as your guide!

This place is otherworldly and so beautiful! Very elegant and simple changing rooms and restaurant, and the natural beauty surrounding you as you soak is just incredible. Had a wonderful time, and not having to get myself there and back from Reykjavík was very nice - the transfer was super reliable and comfortable, and it gave us plenty of time there.

Great experience. Staff extremely helpful. Extremely relaxing and worked wonders for my eczema. Highly recommend this - it was me, my mum and sister, so a great chance to chill together. Not over crowded at all - clearly thought has been put into not making it a purely tourist attraction.
The changing suits had everything which is included in the price - shampoo, conditioner, soap, hair dryers etc. and lockable lockers.
Don’t forget shoes (flip flops / sliders) and if you want to take your phone you need something to make it waterproof like a pouch. Like everything in Iceland, the drinks are very expensive.

Really unique experience compared to Blue Lagoon and Sky Lagoon. We had a wonderful time in the spa area and the food was amazing. Our driver Stefan was also great!

DO NOT USE VIATOR TO PURCHASE! We got there and the bus company didn’t have our name but took us to Hvammsvik. Once there, they didn’t have our order at all and showed on their end it was cancelled. I had to show my bank statement to prove I paid and was never refunded. Hvammsvik was wonderful about it and the facilities were immaculate. This tour was 10/10 with Hvammsvik, 0/10 with Viator. Check in was easy and staff was friendly, the locker rooms and showers were clean, the hot springs were well maintained and in a breathtaking setting. Much smaller crowds than some of the other lagoons/hot springs. Please go, just don’t purchase through here.

Hvammsvík has a ruggedly beautiful charm and is very much worth visiting, even in the dead of winter. Though of course there are other tourists, Hvammsvík still manages to keep that feel of being off the beaten path. And the seafood soup is delicious and chock full of shrimp and scallops! That being said, make sure to bring water shoes and a towel or robe unless you enjoy stumbling across icy, rocky paths barefoot as you move from pool to pool.
The reason this rating is only four out of five stars is this: DO NOT BOOK USING VIATOR. When I arrived at the bus terminal, the Reykjavik Excursions driver couldn't find my booking. The same thing happened at Hvammsvík. The staff had to end up calling Viator and said that Viator had marked my booking as incomplete/canceled because I hadn't paid, even though I'd received a confirmation email and a ticket saying otherwise. There was at least one other family that had the same issue. Fortunately, both the staff at Hvammsvík and the driver from Reykjavik Excursions were extremely understanding and patient as they helped us resolve everything.

This was the best thing we did in Iceland by far!!! The staff were amazing- they were having issues with the water pump and it was going to delay us being able to go in for 2 hours. We were able to extend the tour time, but they offered us complimentary food and drink in addition to refunding us the entire amount of the tour! Absolutely amazing experience and the hospitality was incredible. Even if that hadn't happened, this would have been worth the full price. The springs were glorious, you can cold plunge right in the fjord, and the views were breathtaking. For food, the sourdough bread is so good and my friend loved the seafood soup (it had scallops, shrimp and green lipped mussels in it!) I will definitely be coming back on my next trip.
Good info to know:
Women's facilities have 2 WC, 2 showers with doors and 2 showers without anything. There is 1 private changing room.

The location is very tranquil and serene. The various lagoons all had spectacular views. Try to bring your own towel as the rental towels were inappropriately expensive.

We were picked up from outside our hotel, the driver was courteous and on time. We travelled in a minibus which made it feel special with far less people.
We arrived at Hvammsvik around 11:00am January 23rd and were shown the facilities. Absolutely incredible place, we spent 2.5hrs relaxing in the thermal pools whilst watching the sun rise. There was only 8 of us there in total that morning and we all had a pool, hot tub or steam room to ourselves most of the time. Pure relaxation

Not enough time as an excursion. Driving yourself so you can spend as much time as you want would be better. I liked that it was smaller and that it was close enough to the sea that you could use that as the cold plunge.

This experience is awesome and the area is beautiful! We went in November with weather around 0 degrees celcius / 32 degrees fahrenheit, so it is cold out. Don't let that stop you! Rent or bring swim shoes (not flip flops, sandles, gym shoes). It is the one thing we should have done, but didn't. Everything else takes care of itself. Swim up bar and restaurant are a big plus. This is a must do and we would 100% do it again!

The spas are great! Much less touristy and more room to maneuver around than the other. I loved the different temps.
Some things I didn’t like - people were vaping everywhere and the staff didn’t say anything.
It is DARK. If you book the evening session, it is hard to see what is where. (This probably contributed to the vaping and the smoking)
The driver was late arriving and then late leaving the city so we had less time at the spa.

Be prepared to be cold walking from hot spring to Hot Spring but once you're soaking it is a wonderful feeling and the soup is the best soup in the entire country at their restaurant

Such an amazing experience!!!! Eiríkur was our driver, only me and one other couple showed up and he gave us a VIP experience. Very safe driver, knowledgeable, and friendly. Great way to travel to the hot springs. We were hidden about two and a half hours at the hot springs which was plenty of time. Hvammsvik hot springs is lesser known, and as a result wasn’t too crowded. They have several different hot springs to relax in with gorgeous views, and a swim up bar. You can even take a cold plunge into the ocean! If you’re looking to relax and unwind while in Iceland, this is the place to go.

There's lots of travel companies doing the Northern Lights, we use Viator to get with this company and are extremely pleased! Our tour guide was phenomenal, friendly, moved spots so we had a better chance to see the Northern Lights and we actually did!! Be aware of this was between 12 and 2:00 a.m. which the later you go they say the better the site, which was true for us! He set up his fabulous camera and we all got pictures. He also was a great driver as several streets were closed due to construction and we were very impressed with his skills. Overall, awesome tour guide and tour, would highly recommend!

Quick bus ride from Reykjavík to Hvammsvik Hot Springs. The hot springs facilities were clean, and there was plenty of space for all visitor's to get comfy. Would love to go again on next trip to Iceland.

Activity was enjoyable. I booked this excursion a day prior and received my confirmation and ticket only to be held up at the reception desk. Multiple attendees couldn’t confirm my purchase. Finally a manager had to run to his office and retrieve his laptop computer to view my reservation. He let me know that changes occurred to my reservation and that it hadn’t been completed. Luckily I wasn’t changed a second time and was allowed into the springs after a bit of a wait.

This was a fantastic tour! Our driver, Briosh, was incredibly helpful and patient. He answered all of my endless questions about Iceland along the way and even shared some fascinating facts about the areas we passed. The hot springs themselves were absolutely stunning. One of the most beautiful places I’ve seen in Iceland. Because traffic was a bit heavy on the way out, Briosh kindly let us stay longer at the hot springs so we could enjoy the full experience, which I really appreciated. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting! And if you can do the 17:00 one and you are going in August, the breathtaking sunset is a bonus.

Hesitant to write this and draw too many people here! Not a mass-amusement spot like the Blue Lagoon: Hvammsvik is a fjord where whalers once hunted. It provides the ultimate cold plunge, multiple hot springs to soak in, beautiful scenery. Our driver was focused & efficient but not a talker. A flute of champagne with your boo, some humus, and then the iron man of therapeutic springs: down to the glacier fed waters of the fjord, back to the first spring: plunge, run, relax, repeat. One of the best things about Hvammsvik is the natural beauty. This hasn't been turned into a water park or Disney wannabe. We loved it so much that we want to come back again & again, tying it into our 2nd trip to Iceland and beyond.
