Bakery tour, not a cooking class
This was a really cool bakery tour, though it was more of a tour and quick demo than an actual baking class. It was a great experience if you want to see the inner workings of a bakery and shape some dough, however it is not a class where they teach you to make dough for baguettes and croissants. We did make financiers from scratch which was cool, though definitely a less difficult thing to make. I would definitely recommend it if you want a peek into the back of the bakery, and would suggest maybe a different experience if you want to learn to make croissants or baguettes yourself at home

Butter Late Than Never
Hands-on fun where you get to eat your ‘work’
A small class that covers everything you need to know to produce the perfect croissant.
Our Chef was fun (and patient) and expertly guided us through making and baking our own chocolate and plain croissants.
Good experiential learning.
I'd write more...but I'm about to roll out a fresh batch of dough and my batteries melting

Great class
Erica was a wonderful host for this activity. Being able to actually make macarons from scratch rather than just fill some pre-made ones.
It was a lovely intimate class and Erica was very knowledgeable and also made it a lot of fun for everyone. Would definitely recommend x

Well worth it
Wonderful experience. Instructor was great. Learned a lot and had a great meal. Still waiting on receiving the recipes. They said if you booked through The Foodist you would receive in an hour, but might take longer if you booked another way. Hope Viator comes through.

Great experience, learn butter and cheesemaking
This tour is a very brief introduction to the museum and history of cheesemaking, information about types and sources of cheese and then a classroom, hands on experience. Our instructor Pierre was charming, informative and funny. His instructions were clear and everyone participated. At the end we ate our new butter and cheese.

Wine tasting
Small group, intimate setting. Host was knowledgeable and friendly. We sampled about 7 different French wines. Nice selection of cheese and meats. We did this on a Saturday evening and the shop had several other patrons visit during the event. This caused the event to run over the time.
Great to see locals visiting this shop too.

Great class- we did every...
Great class- we did every step of the croissant making process except for the waiting during proofing. Our instructor, Vivian was fantastic- knowledgeable, friendly, provided clear instructions/demonstrations and provided ndividual attention every step of the process.

Great evening experience in wonderful setting
We had a great evening up in a home in the hills of Nice at this cooking class with 10 other participants, who were all warm and friendly. Rebecca and Laurent were engaging hosts and Rebecca had us all engaged in prepping the Nicoise-style meal outside on their patio, which had a fantastic view. Plenty of good food, spirits. My husband doesn’t cook but thoroughly enjoyed his food-prepping too! One of our highlights during our time in Nice!

Passion Fruit
A very personal hands-on small group baking experience.
Excellent pastry chef easy to follow directions I learned so much and the macaroons were absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this class to anyone interested in baking French macaroons.

Wonderful experience- not to be missed
We had the best time with Fred, he was knowledgeable and encouraging. We got to shop for, then cook an excellent meal having so much fun with the group we were with, this event has been well thought out and truly gives a wonderful tour of the Latin quarter as well as a glimpse of French cooking. The recipes were also sent to us. I would highly recommend this experience.

Great wine education!
It was amazing! Margaret Rose was incredibly knowledgeable and excelled in explaining not only the wines, but their origins, the specifics of regional requirements and what makes French wines uniquely French. I feel much more comfortable ordering a wine that I will truly enjoy. I cannot recommend this experience enough. Such a great way to spend time in Lyons! Thank you, Margaret Rose. We wish you the very best!

Highly recommend! Highlight of our trip.... and we did a lot. David is the best!!
Amazing experience in a beautiful (small) bakery. There were seven of us ages 3-60+ and everyone cited the experience as a highlight of our multi-country trip. David brought comedy and education throughout our visit. He took time to get to know each of the kids and upon learning one was interested in baking as a future profession, he spent extra time showing him aspects of the bakery and answering questions. We rolled baguettes, made financiers start to finish and practiced rolling croissants. We are still talking about the financiers and will do our best to make him proud with our US replication. We left with BAGS of bread and pastries that we were able to enjoy throughout our trip. HIGHLY recommend this experience. Note: any young children should be comfortable standing for a few hours and do well with listening and following directions.
