A Big Hiccup Turns Into Perfection!!

This was an incredible trip from Rome! Our train was delayed a whole hour, and the owner personally waited for us and met us when we arrived. He made sure we didn’t miss a thing and he and his partner took us separately from the rest of the group and we fit in everything perfectly! I can’t say enough “thank yous” to Giancello for accommodating us! The restaurant where we were treated to lunch was perfect with handmade pasta samplers and it was delicious-we are stuffed! Beautiful and fun experience . THAT is how you do business!!

Best experience in Bologna

This class was the high point of our trip. Kate and Valentina were informative and fun. There was a good mix of cooking and getting to know each other. My pasta was a mess. I got “special” attention from Valentina, who was happy to help. My boyfriend’s pasta was perfect. Even though my pasta looked horrible, it tasted so good! The food, attention and camaraderie were amazing! I would highly recommend this cooking class.

What made this experience truly brilliant was how cleverly it was structured. Instead of random food stops, Davide designed the tour like a traditional multi-course Italian meal spread across different spots in Bologna. We progressed seamlessly from aperitivo and appetizers to handmade pasta courses, savory mains, and the best gelato in town. The portions were unbelievably generous—come hungry, because you will definitely leave completely full and satisfied! Beyond the incredible food (the fresh tagliatelle al ragù and local cured meats were out of this world!), Davide is an extraordinary guide. His passion for Bologna is infectious. As we walked between stops, he brought the city to life with fascinating history, hidden local gems, and rich cultural stories. You can tell how well-connected and respected he is by the warm welcomes we received at every single shop and trattoria. This was easily the best thing we did in Bologna. Best food tour in Italy!

We love food tours and this one was the best! Dominico led us through the fresh markets, the meat and cheese markets and treated us to the most wonderful pasta dishes! Of course we finished with the best gelato! We were the only ones on this tour, and although we missed getting to know others, the personalized care was great.

This was a wonderful experience! Comfortable travel to our destinations, with no rush. The parmigiana tour was very informative and samples were amazing. Make sure you get in close to the guide to hear! Then the balsamic tour-very interesting to learn about the process and history! The winery tour was fantastic as well. I have a new respect for Lambrusco! Then we had a traditional 4-course lunch with some wonderful food and wine. And then back to Bologna. Valentina, our guide, was fantastic! Very informative and helpful!! Would totally recommend this tour!

We really enjoyed our walking tour of Bologna with Samy. He’s a master’s student studying in the city and his genuine love for Bologna really came through throughout the tour. He was warm, engaging and clearly passionate about the city’s history, especially the stories behind Bologna’s Seven Secrets. The tour ended up running about half an hour longer than scheduled, but we honestly didn’t mind at all. Samy never made the tour feel rushed and was very generous with his time and knowledge. It felt more like exploring Bologna with someone who genuinely loves the city than simply following a standard tour. A very enjoyable way to get to know Bologna better, and we’re glad we did it with Samy.

Great tour with tasty stops

This was a really fun tour! I especially enjoyed watching Michele make the fresh pasta at our first stop at Ramaciotto. It was fun to learn and also tasted delicious. Also learning about balsamic and eating fresh charcuterie in bologna’s oldest wine bar was a fun treat! Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept it really fun!

Great Tour!

Elena was great! We got to go through a food market and learn about what goes into making and certifying the food in Bologna. We then ate the food we picked up at an osteria where it was paired with a delicious wine. We got to try 2 different pasta dishes and finished the day with Gelato. Elena made our experience in bologna special. It was nice to experience Bologna with someone who clearly loves her city.
