The trip was incredible!
The trip was incredible! Our guide, Salim, was a wonderful person—attentive, caring, and thoughtful. Although our English isn’t very strong, he explained everything so clearly and accessibly that we had no trouble at all. We also really appreciated that he doubled as our driver; it was incredibly convenient—something we hadn’t experienced on previous trips.
The route itself and the swimming were absolutely delightful! The gorge is stunningly beautiful, and the swim was incredibly relaxing. There were quite a few people in the cave—it would have been nicer with fewer crowds, but that’s to be expected given how popular the spot is.
For those planning to go: the trek—which involves walking over rocks under the sun—takes about 40 minutes each way. It might be challenging for someone who isn’t physically prepared, doesn’t get much exercise, or tires easily.
Be sure to bring water shoes; they make walking on rocks and entering the water much easier. If you don’t have a pair, Salim can stop at a shop where you can buy some. Also, definitely get a waterproof phone case—we didn’t bring one and ended up regretting it!
Lunch at a local café was great, too—the chicken was delicious. At the final stop, we decided not to head down; while the location is beautiful and worth seeing, it was a bit less impressive in person than it looked in the photos.
I recommend this trip 100%! Just be prepared for the walk, bring water shoes and a waterproof phone case, and you’re in for an amazing experience.

Very easy, enjoyable tour
We really enjoyed our morning with Saif. He picked us up from our hotel, drove us to all the major sites and then drove us back to the hotel again. He was relaxed and friendly, and explained fully all about the places we were seeing without overloading us with information as some guides do. We enjoyed all the places we visited except the Mutrah souk. We especially liked the Grand Mosque which was very beautiful. We started and finished early to avoid the worst of the heat. An effortless way to see the sights in a few hours.

Incredible sand dunes trip with an incredible guide
This was an absolutely brilliant trip with the thrilling 4x4 ride into the desert. My guide, Sultan, is so warm, welcoming, knowledgeable and kind and I was so happy to have him as my guide for this trip. Sultan takes great pride in navigating massive sand walls (some up to 200 meters high) with such expertise and precision, creating a roller-coaster-like experience that was such an absolute rush. Thank you, Sultan, for making this the best trip that I could have imagined.

Oman at Its Best: Stunning Landscapes and Genuine Hospitality
The trip was truly amazing! Although it was very hot and sunny, I would highly recommend doing this tour during the winter months when the weather is much cooler. Nevertheless, I cannot complain because the weather in Jebel Akhdar was pleasantly cool and refreshing.
I loved every part of the trip—the places we visited, the breathtaking views, the shopping opportunities, and of course, the people of Oman, who are among the most humble and welcoming people on earth.
Our tour guide, AbdulAziz, was absolutely fabulous. He was incredibly patient and accommodating, always mindful of the different needs and backgrounds of everyone in the group. For example, he made sure those who needed time to pray could do so comfortably, and he kindly assisted some of the women with their shopping and carrying purchases. He never rushed anyone and made everyone feel included and cared for throughout the day.
Abdul Aziz was also very generous with his time, attention, and advice. He went above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable, answered every question with enthusiasm, and shared helpful recommendations about local culture, food, and places to visit.
His knowledge of Oman was exceptional. You could immediately tell how much he loves his country and how passionate he is about sharing its history, traditions, and hidden gems. His stories and insights made every stop more meaningful and interesting.
On top of that, he had a great sense of humor that kept the tour fun, relaxed, and engaging from start to finish. I also made new friends among the people on the tour, which made the experience even more memorable.
If I return to Oman, I would definitely request AbdulAziz as my guide again and would happily recommend him to my friends and family. Thank you for such an unforgettable experience! 😊
