All Senegal Tours & Excursions in 2026

This is an outstanding tour that I have already begun recommending to colleagues and friends who may find themselves in Dakar. Goree is a beautiful, tragic place, a tiny rock with an outsize role in modern history. I was in Dakar for work, with a free Saturday before moving on to another city, and decided to book this tour. I’m so glad I did. Oumar is an excellent guide - funny, highly considerate, deeply knowledgeable, and speaks perfect English. He also knows everyone (or as he says “everyone knows him”!) at the ferry dock in Dakar and on the island, which makes for a very smooth and pleasant experience. He picked me up/dropped me off directly at my hotel, and looped around downtown to quickly point out highlights I hadn’t seen before going to the dock because we had time before the next ferry. He also spent a little extra time on the island with me because he didn’t have another tour in the afternoon. I was a single female traveler from the US and felt 100% comfortable and safe the entire time. The vehicle was spotless and Oumar even had me wait in the shade while he cooled it down when we got back because it was boiling inside. Goree is a very special place, and this is the tour you should take to see it. If you have half a day in Dakar, don’t hesitate, book this tour!!!

I really enjoyed this city and Goree island tour. My tour guide Ishmael was very experienced and knowledgeable everywhere we went. I could tell he is well respected because he knew almost everyone we came in contact with. This tour took me to the highlights of the city as well as the historically important island of Goree. The driver was also very safe and drove us all over.

I had basically one day in Senegal and booked this trip. I have been on Safari before I would say this is a game drive to look at animals in a fenced off protected area and therefore you get to see numerous giraffes, zebra rhinos, buffalo even hyena and tortoises. I had an excellent time and of course took hundreds of photos :) The guide Took time to speak to me in English, though I was the only English speaker on the tour. I would always choose a more local spot for lunch than a tourist spot. However, the food was of good quantity and good quality. Make sure you order the local dish. Lagoon was extremely peaceful nothing much conveyed from the guide at this point, but it was really neat to see so many birds and humongous pelicans up close.
