What are people saying about Ghana

It’s a long day but with it!
We loved the experience. Our driver/guide Patrick was hospitable and super helpful. The tour of both castles was enlightening and very heavy. It’s definitely an experience you will remember. The canopy tour is challenging. Lots of steps and uneven pathways uphill. Wear good footwear and bring insect repellents.

Toufic Is Terrific
Toufic was terrific, and an excellent guide. I was pleased to learn about Ghana's electronic sustainability; one man's trash really is hundreds of others' treasure/livelihood. Wear closed-toed shoes! Be prepared to feel the privilege of the life you live by the end. I was able to buy groceries at the market and stock up on much-needed water at the end of the tour.
I was picked up right at my hotel, and the air conditioning in the vehicle felt great!
We were met by a kind local man who showed us his world; he never stopped helping everyone around him really showcasing what community is all about!
While I have seen poverty before I was surprised to see the frank difference just a few miles can make between different groups.
I really learned about electronics, the importance of recycling, what true happiness means to people, and how to navigate a tight market. I was very pleased with Toufic’s knowledge of the area and wish I had booked more! It took about 3 hours, and by the end I needed a shower, to journal, and to think about how I wanted to use this information to recognize how blessed my life is.

Enjoyable and informative tour
My husband and I were picked up from our AirBnB apartment which was outside of the zone. This was appreciated and the minibus arrived on time and was clean and comfortable. The tour guide, Porscha, was personable, friendly and helpful throughout the tour. It was a great day of education about the history of Ghana and its culture.
The only suggestion would be to include a lunch break around 12-1pm as opposed to it being at the end of the tour.
Overall a great day.

Exceptional!!
My family and I really enjoyed this experience. The instructor was patient and kind, and we learned to play traditional drums quickly. He also taught us a traditional dance and song. He was gracious, and his teaching style made it easy for us to pick things up. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

Sunday shopping trip to Makola Market
My husband and I had a wonderful experience exploring the market with Prince as our guide. We went to the market on Sunday midday and it was not crowded. Prince was a very professional, helpful, and courteous guide. And he customized the experience to what we were interested in. I would recommend taking this tour and our guide, Prince.

Great experience
This was a great tour and Emmanuel was an excellent guide. He was very pleasant. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and we learned a lot. He patiently answered all of our questions. If you want to learn about Accra and get a feel for the city, take this tour. I highly recommend it.

Best part of trip! Samuel made it memorable and couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
This trip was one my partner and I were drawn too as our first time in Accra and Africa as a whole - from the moment Samuel (Sammie) picked us up he treated us like family. From teaching us Twi sayings on the drive (and correcting our terrible accents) all the way to giving us space to sleep after a long night. He gave us options, space and ultimately an eye opening experience seeing the castles. 5 stars all around we’ll be back with our family soon!

You will love this...
You will love this experience for its thrills and for the deepened educational awareness. The canopy walk was super fun and does require you to walk up steps to the actual canopy. The castle visits were heart wrenching but glad I took the time and witnessed it for myself.

Medasse
This experience was incredible. Vince took us personally through the areas of Accra that we tried to do by ourselves and couldn’t do it. It was educational/informative and I know I would suggest moodofhope tours to anyone who asks. Thanks again Vince for the incredible tour and the education we were given. Medasse.

Our two guides - Hamza...
Our two guides - Hamza and Hamdu - did everything they could to make us feel comfortable and safe. It was a lot of driving, but well worth the trip. Be prepared for a bumpy road, but with a skilled and safe driver. In total we were out for more than 12 hours, so plan your day accordingly!

Will be the best meal you eat in Accra
My wife and I always book a cooking class when we travel and we were very happy with this option. Auntie K provides clear directions to the meeting point and walks you through the entire process of cooking your dishes. We did not request a specific dish and had Auntie K choose for us. We ended up making jollof Rice and Grilled chicken with boiled plantains and eggs, sauteed cabbage, and greens with smoked tuna. It was hands down the best jollof rice and chicken we had in Accra during our stay and the greens were my favorite out of everything. Be sure to write down the recipe as you cook so you can try to recreate at home. Auntie K was happy to answer any questions we had about the process or anything else that came to mind. You can choose to work as much as you feel like. The process is fulfilling and satisfying to participate and eat. We would recommend to anyone looking to learn how to make local Ghanian dishes at home.
