What are people saying about Ubud

Spectacular pictures, great sites, wonderful memories!
We had an early start with an excellent guide/driver. The 2.5 hours flew by as we were educated about the history of Indonesia, the culture of Bali and the expernces we were going to have. The gate of heaven and other nearby sites were spectacular and the pictures were Instagram worthy. The water Palace was a wonderful experience as well. It was a long day, but the memories of our trip will last a lifetime. We stopped at a couple of places off the route just for us to have a more in depth and better experience.

Great Ubud activity
This was a fabulous experience and J would recommend it to everyone! I was picked up at Ubud Palace and driven with other guests into the hills. We stopped at a local food market which was great to see, and spent some time walking around, learning about the ingredients and tasting lots of local fruits I hadn't tried before. From here we were then taken to the cookery school in a beautiful building of a local village, with the most gorgeous views. We were welcomed with ice tea and given an explanation of the day before delving into the cooking. We cooked so many dishes, and i learned so much! Everything was absolutely delicious, the only thing i wished is that I had asked to make things more spicy as we made everything quite mild. Food however was delicious and i was stuffed to burst when I left! I would 100% recommend this activity.

Gorgeous sunrise views and friendly guides!
This was one of the coolest things we did all trip! I will say that the hike is no joke. Basically straight uphill for about 2 miles to reach the top. Our guide was amazing and so helpful! She took so many pictures for us and let us stop for breaks when needed. The views were stunning at sunrise and totally worth the hefty hike. Would recommend shoes with serious grip (my partner slipped and scrapped her arm) and a sweatshirt/jacket for the top of the mountain as it gets very cold up there. They do let you rent jackets or blankets (which we did) for a small fee. Overall, it was a great experience!

Stunning views and challenging hike
We both loved this tour. The stunning views in every direction really make it worth the challenging but short climb. You gain about 3000 ft in elevation. I definitely recommend wearing sturdy hiking shoes or sneakers for the loose volcanic rock. They help you with everything from the hike to even giving you a hiking stick to borrow. Definitely wear layers as the hike is warm and you will sweat, but it is rather cold at the top. Our guide took us to a natural steam vent that warmed us up. Breakfast includes hot coffee, tea or hot chocolate, a hard boiled egg and a banana sandwich. I believe you can stop at restaurants as well. Definitely get the hiking stick. If you struggle with the climb there are helpful dirtbike drivers who will assist you for additional cost. Bring a dry pair of clothes, swimsuit, and flip flops for the hot springs which are very nice to relax in afterward. Beware fly’s at the hot springs. There are changing areas there. Our driver Gedey was amazing at navigating the mountain roads and let me sleep in the car. Our guide took nearly professional photos us. Such a great memory.
