I was picked up in Canggu and did a tour around Ubud (including multiple waterfalls, monkeys, bats, water temple, rice Paddies, wood and silver working shops). A relatively standard version of what to explore when coming from down in Denpasae I think. I had a great day.
Putu, my guide and driver was excellent - making practical and helpful recommendations based on where I was staying, where we could easily reach and adjusting some destinations based on what interested me more (for example I'm not a big fan of coffee or tea but do like silver things so we switched the plantation out for a silver workshop).
Some practical things to consider (not about this tour specifically and would be relevant for other similar options):
- Multiple options of where to go where available? However, the amount of places you will be able to see will depend on how far away you go. For example, going to Eastern Bali from where I was staying near Canggu would have resulted in a much longer drive time and we may only have been able to see 1 or 2 things. This is a trade off you'll need to prioritise.
- Some of the stops will be keen on you buying things. This was fine for my stops (I was quite keen on the silver ring I bought at that workshop for example and it supported the local community whereas I wouldn't have bought any coffee so skipped coffee plantation) but if youre on a budget, maybe prioritise the workshops/places where you feel more keen on buying something.
A great and reasonably priced way to get out of the city and would recommend.

Don't forget your camera, comfortable walking shoes and sunscreen. Wear light clothing as Bali cab be HOT!
There were only 2 of us on the trip which was perfect.
Our driver, Putu, was friendly and very knowledgeable. He took us to a very nice air conditioned restaurant.

Putu our lovely guide was waiting for us. He chatted & answered questions. We had a truly lovely day. Highlight for me was the Jungle Swings Photo Shoots, there were many to choose from and they took the pictures with your own phone (no hidden costs), we enjoyed the Monkey Forest too, monkeys & fox bats. We opted to do the glass walk above the waterfall. The waterfall was a little disappointing but the views made up for it. A very good day

We had a wonderful day traveling from Sanur to Ubud with Awon, who was an exceptionally thoughtful, careful, and professional driver. We had a very specific request—to visit a selection of iconic hotels with a focus on art and architecture—and Awon handled everything seamlessly.
He took us exactly where we hoped to go, including Four Seasons Sayan, Amandari, and Capella, and gave us ample time to explore each property at our own pace. It was a joy to experience these extraordinary hotels, and the day was invaluable as inspiration for our next Bali visit.
As a special surprise, Awon also brought us to an incredible silver museum and gallery, featuring the largest silver dragon we have ever seen—truly unforgettable and something we never would have found on our own.
From start to finish, the day was relaxed, well-paced, and perfectly tailored to our interests. We highly recommend this company and, especially, this amazing driver. Awon made our day both effortless and memorable.

Had a great time with our guide/driver. He was super kind and drove by his home to pick up a car seat for us, which made our daughter able to take nice naps throughout the day. He was super flexible with us, helping us stick to the little one's schedule and also pivot to different locations that seemed better suited to our family. We probably could've saved some drive time on 1 or 2 of the locations. When we got there and realized what was there, we were not interested and we moved on to the next stop (for instance, we weren't interested in taking posed pictures, but beforehand we really didn't understand what the stop was).

Awan was our careful driver cum guide. Being of Balinese origin, he was able to tell us a lot about the Balinese culture, belief system and customs. He showed us many of Bali’s cultural, natural and artistic sites, mainly in the central part of the island. We greatly enjoyed the private day trip which lasted close to twelve hours and were very satisfied with the choice of destinations, the pace, Awan’s recommendations and driving, and explanations.

Driver was not knowledgeable about sites or closing times. We missed some things since we were late and gallery or museum was closed. Driver told us some places we wanted to go were a waste or not worth it but we wanted to go …fortunately we got to the museum in time(15 minutes before close and it was great…but we only had 15 minutes! Just know you are only getting a driver and insist on what you want to do.
