The Royal National Park in Sydney (second oldest national park in the world), established in 1879, is Australia’s oldest national park and a stunning natural escape just south of the city.
Covering over 15,000 hectares, it features diverse landscapes, including coastal cliffs, eucalyptus forests, tranquil rivers, and secluded beaches. Hikers can explore a network of well-marked trails suited to all fitness levels — from leisurely coastal walks to challenging full-day treks.
See all types of birds species, especially Lyre birds, Kookaburras, Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos, Rosellas. Opportunities to see marsupials especially Swamp Wallabies are possible & many more reptiles.
There is also an opportunity to see a glow worm tunnel, which is a
larvae emit with a blue-green light to attract prey and create a "twinkling galaxy" effect on the tunnel walls and ceiling.
