Having grown up exploring this territory, I’ve built close relationships with local, family-run producers over the years. This private experience is designed as a memorable journey from Porto to Terras de Basto — a largely untouched, beautifully natural region that remains off the beaten path. Along the way, we’ll stop for a coffee break in the historic town of Amarante, known for its authentic atmosphere and charming riverside setting. We’ll then visit two family-owned wine estates with traditional cellars, where guests are welcomed like friends. Here, you’ll taste grape varieties found only in this region, such as Azal and Padeiro, and discover that Vinho Verde can even be red, like the distinctive Vinhão. A true surprise for many visitors.
