What are people saying about Playa del Carmen

Awesome experience. Worth every penny
The whole trip was nice. The guide gives you a lot of info about the Maya culture. I bought a maya horoscope since it was beautiful but don't buy anything else at the first store you stop by because you will find everything at a fraction of the cost at the Chichen site. Our guide and driver, Saul and Henry, were very nice, patient, and helpful.

Great destination with an awesome guide
Omar was a timely, professional and knowledgeable guide who kept our family of four (2 teens) engaged with his Mayan history knowledge and local stories. The cenote was a nice and refreshing treat. Lunch at a buffet included many local dishes not to be missed. We went at our own pace and skipped the shopping. Overall a great day. (Remember to bring hat, sunscreen and don’t forget your swimsuits.)

I had a good experience...
I had a good experience with this tour. It took about an hour boat ride to get to Contoy Island from the meeting point (which is about 20 minutes away from downtown Cancun but the pick up was included and on time) and it's a beautiful unspoiled island with white sand and shallow clean water. We spent about 3 hours there: one hour to relax, one hour for a barbecue lunch and another hour for an optional tour of the island (I was the only one in the group to go for it though) which was nice. Then there was some snorkeling which I skipped because I thought the sea wasn't calm enough and I didn't want to struggle as I had never done snorkeling before. We then headed to Mujeres Island, which was very very crowded and I can't say I enjoyed it, but we were there for only an hour which was long enough to still get a taste of the island. The tour leads were very friendly and entertained us with music and dances on the boat. Many drinks were available. The only thing I didn't like very much is that once we got back to the meeting point in Cancun (at about 4pm), we had to wait almost 45 minutes before we could get on the vehicle to be dropped off at the hotel, as the tour guides were asking everyone to write reviews on the company's app using their phone. I was really tired at that point, and to be honest I just wanted to go back to the hotel instead of waiting for 45 minutes for everyone to write their reviews. I asked to write the reviews later on (I always prefer taking a few days before writing a review, just to let the experience sink in without the emotion of the moment) and I was told I had to it there, I felt a bit forced and I thought it was unnecessary. Still a good experience though, which I recommend.

Best excursion BY FAR!!!
This was hands down the best excursion I’ve ever done in Mexico—and I’ve been here six times! Pablo and Caesar (aka Tom Cruise) made the experience unforgettable. Their knowledge at every stop was insane. The Tulum ruins were absolutely mesmerizing, and the cenote experience was next level, especially with the goggles. Being able to clearly see underwater made it truly breathtaking. Lunch was delicious with tons of variety (tacos, pasta, rice, beans, salad, dessert, etc.) and we all left totally full. Swimming with the sea turtles was the perfect ending to an unforgettable day. They did not disappoint! Pro tip: bring an underwater camera. Phones don’t cooperate well underwater, and your phone will 100% betray you at the worst possible time. My cheap underwater camera captured incredible photos and videos. I can’t say a single negative thing about this trip. Highly recommend and would 100% do it again in a heartbeat.
