We just finished our food tour today. This is a one of a kind experience. The food spots were amazing and places my husband and I would have walked past. I’m so glad we decided to do this tour. Our guide, she was amazing. Super friendly and knowledgeable with the culture, food, architecture and art. Would highly recommend!

This was a great tour. Abby was so kind and thoughtful. She was so full of knowledge and smiles. I really appreciated getting paired with her. She was the best. I would take a tour around the block if she was leading it. Absolutely highly recommend her and this tour.

It was a hot day for walking but the experience was worth it. Great hostesses, she was very knowledgeable on the history of Playa, we tried quite a few traditional Mexican dishes, that were out of the tourist zone.

Lovely way to explore Playa del Carmen and 5th avenue.
Marcel was a great guide, answering our questions and giving us lots of information about the history and culture of the area.
The food was so good. Every place was unique and delicious.

Marcel was very knowledgeable and friendly. Great walking tour. About three hours but got to try a lot of street vendor food. Nothing fancy, but truly delicious and what we were looking for. Fruit market was great to see and try mamey. At the end Marcel gave us a recommendation for fresh churros which we walked to about a half mile away. 5th ave has a ton of nightlife, bars, shopping and restaurants we hit along the way.

If you like food and want to find some hidden gems, this is the tour for you! Our guide, Alex, was knowledgeable, easygoing, and accommodating. The food we tried was excellent.
A note of caution: the address link we were given on Viator for the meetup spot was incorrect. We ended up having to take a taxi to the location. Thankfully, they waited for us, but this was stressful and an added expense that really shouldn’t have happened. According to our guide, this is something that happens quite frequently. Be sure to double check the address link they give you and the meetup point labeled in the instructions.

Really glad we did this tour! It felt like it was off the tourist-heavy path, and I'm not sure we would have found the places our guide, Diego, took us to without the tour. Diego was fantastic a guide - he brought a white corn tamale with him for the group to try, and it was one of the best things we ate on the whole trip. We had excellent quesadillas, tacos, aguas frescas, and fresh fruit from a market. Highly recommend!

Nice for the local walk I would not have done on my own. Diego added a wonderful personal touch by beginning with tamale he brought to the tour! That was actually one of the best parts for me. The food was meh for me but others loved. I still loved the experience. Included fruit market, fresh fruit and fruit juice.

Excellent tour! Abbey was a fabulous guide! Best mole we’ve ever had and loved trying all the fruits at the fruit stand. One of the best food tours I’ve been on (and this is my 6th food tour in both US and Mexico). It was so much more than just food - culture, history, art, traditions. Highly recommend!

It was a great tour with lots of food to choose from. The host checked for allergies, dislikes, etc and was very solicitous to group. She explained all choices, sauces, toppings well so you knew if you would like it or not and was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Wonderful tour! Emmanuel was our guide and he was excellent. He always checked in with everyone to make sure they were happy with food choices and didn’t need other options. Great local food stops with more food than we could eat! Highly recommend!

What a fun and interesting way to learn about Playa del Carmen while enjoying delicious food! It was a great escape from the busy tourist scene with Marcel guiding our multi generational family on the tour. Well organized, enjoyable, and very informative tour! Our guide, Enrique (sp), met us right on time and showed us more than we had expected. He was very thorough...took into consideration food sensitivities, the weather, and even tasting cups. We learned a lot! He was/is a true gentleman (we got to see him very kindly look out for an older gentleman who was in need of assistance getting a taxi). The tour was thorough, and all stops we visited were fantastic! We left very satisfied. He exuded the love of the Mayan culture.
