Top Pisa Walking Tours

We had David as our tour guide and he is the best ‘Pisa Explorer’. David is knowledgeable and it was fortunate for us that only my friend and I were on the booked tour so for us it felt even more special to have a couple of hours with him enabling the tour to tailored at our pace and interests but covering everything it set outs to. We were met on time at the meeting point, he was politely and friendly and provided a headset so we could hear him clearly which is needed when going into the buildings with others visiting and having tours (often in other languages). He explained and provided so much info on the history of the leaning tower, cathedral, cemetery and baptistery. We learned so much and the time ran away with us, booking this tour provided us access into this main buildings with no queues, or extra entry costs so no time was lost in our first afternoon after arriving on Pisa at lunchtime. The tour we had booked also included climbing the Leaning Tower of Pisa and again no queueing and he gave us tips which meant we did not need to leave any personal property at storage facilities while we climbed the tour. I am so glad we booked a tour that included the climb. We had very nice weather on the day and could enjoy spectacular views from climbing the leaning tower too. It was wonderful to be taken into the Baptistery at a time when we could hear the acoustics from the demonstration which is provided (usually every 1/2 hr) when the Baptistery is open. If it was not for David and going on his tour, we would not have known about this or got the most informative tour. We 100% recommend this tour with David who offers other tours too and would recommend him to anyone without hesitation. He had time to answer any questions, we did not feel rushed and had we not booked this tour, I would certainly never have learned so much and it left a lasting and unforgettable memory for me on this visit Pisa. Anastasia was a very knowledgeable and personable tour guide. Although this was a relatively short tour in duration (90 minutes), Anastasia shared a lot of information about the Cathedral Square. So much history about the Cathedral, the Baptistery and Bell Tower (the Leaning Tower of Pisa).

Carolina was an excellent guide! She shared pertinent historical facts in such a way that the adults and kids in our group of 8 were all engaged. She made a point to keep us on time and shared unique details about the town and history outside of just the sites we saw on our tour. She even recommended an area of town outside of the tourist spots for us to grab a bite and it was exactly what we wanted. I highly recommend this tour and especially our lovely local guide, Carolina, who made our day trip to Pisa memorable!

I absolutely loved this walking tour. David, was incredibly knowledgeable and brought Pisa’s history to life in such a fascinating way. He shared so much insight into why so many of Pisa’s buildings are tilted or sinking, the impact of the war, and how different civilisations shaped the city over time. The stories behind the Leaning Tower were really interesting, from why it was built where it was, how it was built, why it leans, to the modern engineering that’s made it safe to climb today. I was originally planning to visit Pisa on my own and had started researching what to see and do, but nothing I found online came close to the depth of understanding I gained from this tour. I walked away with such a richer appreciation of the city and its history. I’m so glad I joined. It really gave so much more meaning to my visit.

This is the perfect way to visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa to avoid any lines and waiting while being given interesting information about the site before climbing to the top. Absolutely amazing! We would highly recommend this to anyone visiting this beautiful city.

Great tour of the Piazza with a climb of the tower after the tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and even took some great pics for us. She knew the spots to avoid the crowds and kept us in the shade. It included tickets to explore the cathedral after the climb.

Authentic and intimate experience of learning how to make traditional Italian pasta dishes and tiramisu from scratch. Our hosts and teachers, Claudio and Flora, could not have been more lovely or welcoming. A once in a lifetime experience. We made memories that we’ll keep forever and will now make new family traditions with all that we have learned.
