Highly recommend!
Great food tour with a lot of information and food packed into a short amount of time! We did not feel overly full at the end and appreciated all the different types of food to try. Eric is knowledgeable and obviously has good rapport with the restaurants.

A Great Start to Our Visit!
An easy walk, fun & informative, with a great sampling of foods (don’t eat beforehand). As it was our first day in Victoria, we got a little bit oriented, found a few places to circle back to and met some lovely folks! Erik our guide, was funny, knowledgeable, and passionate about food, the city - and featuring small businesses. We loved it!

A Delicious Introduction to Victoria
We spent a wonderful afternoon exploring Victoria on a private food tour with Brenda from Off The Eaten Track, and she was absolutely fantastic. She took us through the hidden corners of Chinatown and Old Town, blending seven delicious tasting stops with stories that made the city’s rich, layered history feel vivid and alive. It felt like so much more than a food tour — it was a real introduction to Victoria through its flavours, streets, and past.
A few stops really stayed with us. Malabar was a highlight, with the bright, vibrant flavours of Kerala’s Malabar Coast, while Maiiz Nixtamal completely impressed us with its fresh volcanic-stone-ground masa and organic-corn tortillas — honestly some of the best we’ve had. We also loved Dumpling Drop, a cozy Chinatown gem where we tried their Thai-inspired dumplings, including a rich pork belly version that was especially memorable. One of the most fascinating moments was wandering down Fan Tan Alley with Brenda and stepping into a tiny Chinese museum hidden behind one of the narrowest passageways in Canada. The whole afternoon was such a perfect mix of food, culture, and storytelling, and Brenda’s warmth and knowledge made it truly unforgettable.

Amazing time with Erik
I had a fantastic time. I am not a foodie, and I found this very interesting, informative and food I wouldn’t have ever had before - I had. Thank you for a great time.
