Great walking tour of Victoria!

travelingwithmary57, Feb 2026
"Fish" was incredibly engaging and knowledgeable and a wealth of fun, interesting stories about poeple, history, architecture, and culture. Truly worth every step...

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Fish is definitely our 'wealth of stories' guy! It’s great to hear that his mix of culture and history made the walk so engaging for you. We really appreciate you taking the time to share the feedback. Cheers to a great time in Victoria!

A Victoria Walking Tour I Recommend

Lori_M, Dec 2025
This was an educational experience for me. I enjoyed walking the distance and learning new things about Victoria - a city I truly treasure. Others in my group ten to twenty years my senior were great sports and didn't necessarily dress for the weather. I bought myself a had along the way. A sunny day with no wind would have been ideal (naturally not in our control). I recommend participants dress for the weather. Layer up! We made a few unplanned stops that I greatly appreciated. I saw the inside of some buildings I have never been to before. I believe having Intentional stops built into the plan for a beverage and snack (with each person being responsible for covering the cost of their items if the establishments are not sponsoring the stops) would have been a great opportunity to talk about the city's history further while inside away from the wind. And I think venues would appreciate the additional business when not too busy to accommodate the group. Of course this would likely turn what is advertised as a two hour tour into a three or four hour tour.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

It’s great to hear that even as someone who treasures Victoria, you still found new corners of the city to explore! We really appreciate the 'pro-tip' about layering up—Victoria weather definitely has a mind of its own. Your suggestion about intentional indoor stops for a snack and a deeper dive into history is a really interesting idea for a longer format. We’re so glad you enjoyed those unplanned stops and the hidden interiors. Thanks for the detailed feedback!

There were a lot of interesting historical tidbits on this tour. We thoroughly enjoyed the information Dave provided.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

That is exactly what Dave loves to hear! He spends a lot of time digging up those 'historical tidbits' that you won't find in a standard guidebook, so we're glad they added that extra layer of interest for you. Thanks for the 5-star shoutout!

Personal opinions

Jens_V, Sep 2025
The guide had a huge knowledge - and strong personal opinions. He was very negative about Fairmont Hotel : “A place for snobs only”

Response from Host, Mar 2026

That's definitely not the experience we want to provide. Our guides should be sharing history, not their own personal grievances or calling local landmarks names. I’ll be speaking with the team to make sure we keep the focus on the tour and not on personal rants.

Great Tour!

FIVE STARS! We did a fabulous 2-hour walking tour with David AKA Fish today. He was a wealth of knowledge and offered great insight into the history and architecture of Victoria. Highly recommend and ask for Fish if possible!

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Fish is a legend—I’m so glad you got to experience a tour with him! He really does have a way of making the architecture and history of Victoria feel like a story rather than a lecture. I'll be sure to tell him you gave him such a high shout-out.

A tour worth taking!

Carol_R, Jun 2025
Our guide Fish was knowledgeable, engaging, caring, and made the walk a lot of fun! I did not bring a jacket with me and Fish even let me use his jacket when I was cold. He also offered to stay after to help anyone if they wanted recommendations or even help with any other types of bookings we might need. Terrific service, Fish! We learned a lot about Victoria and saw lots of beautiful, historic, and interesting spots. Booking was easy and fast. Highly recommend for both locals and visitors.

Knowledgeable Guide with the finer details

Lynne_M, May 2024
Our guide Stephen, brought alive the hidden past of Victoria. As a local who lives and worked here for many years he shared a good balance of historical knowledge of both western & first nations. We enjoyed his friendliness, humour & expertise. The walking pace was relaxed, and we covered quite a large area of the inner city. Great experience. Highly recommended.
