Lucky to have Lucky as our tour guide!
Lucky was our tour guide for 2 half day tours of Hanoi , which we were delighted with! He went couldn’t have been more patient, caring or helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and his local knowledge was amazing. It made our tours so much fun, adapted it to our needs and wants and we certainly learned a lot about the history of Hanoi. An excellent tour and more importantly- an excellent tour guide. Thanks again, Lucky.

Wonderful nature and cultural tour outside Hanoi
This was a great tour. Dave was a great tour leader. There is a 500 step mountain that you can climb to see a temple, but you don’t have. My father didn’t want to try it in the rain and there was still plenty to see in the area. The gem of the tour is definitely the boat ride. It was very picturesque.

A must do when in Hanoi - this will make you love the food even more!
Fantastic experience led by our chef Emmy! We started off heading out the market to buy some of the ingrdients we needed. This was so interesting learning about the meat required, the different fruit, veg and herbs that you probably dont recognise from home and the different types of noodles. Then back to the kitchen to start cooking - and be prepared... this is not a 'watch someone else cook' kind of class - you are going to get involved. We made Pho, Bun Cha, Spring Rolls, Egg Coffee and Papaya Salad. Some things like the Spring Rolls everyone makes, other recipes you are contributing to before ending the class with a feast of all the food we had prepared - and it was all so good! Emmy was a great leader - confident, a great communicator both in her clear instructions and her information and anecdotes about where some of the ingredients came from and what we could substitute them for at home, and a great sense of humour about our cooking failures! She is clearly very passionate about her city and cooking heritage and we learnt so much from her. We all went away very full and with a cookery book of recipes including those we had made with her to try at home. Weve been home a week and already made the Bun Cha and Papaya Salad - they were so good!!!

Would recommend!
Our trip was great! Our guide Johnny was very knowledgable and attentive for the 7 hour excursion. Easy to find him at the cruise ship port, and quick loading on to the boat. We had 18 passengers, and could have had room for at least 30, so lots of space, which was nice. Clean, available bathrooms. Soda, beer, water available for sale ($1-2 USD), and you do get 1 free with lunch. The itinerary was different than what was on Viator, but it all ended up being great. Went to an oyster & pearl farm, Sung Set Cave, then had lunch (so much food! A set menu, and it just kept coming. After lunch, we visited Luon Cave - we had options to take a bamboo boat (included), kayak (included) or speedboat (~$17 USD), and we had enough time to do 2 of the 3! Finally, we also stopped at Titov Isle - has a viewpoint with about 450 steps, which I didn't do, but we had enough time here to allow that. We stayed at the beach/shops area, which was pretty small. Swimming was allowed, but again, it was very small, so we didn't go in. Johnny was a great guide and the boat crew were wonderful! Great way to see the cool bay area.
