Mohamed is an amazing guide: knowledgeable, gives plenty of recommendations on where to shop and eat within the medina. The tour was very well timed and allowed plenty of time at each attraction as well as some time for breaks.

If fun and safe way to see the Medina in Marrakesh
We decided to hire our own private tour guide to take us shopping at the Medina in Marrakesh. Youseph met us outside the Medina, and spend five hours with us. We got to see shops that other two guides will not take you to, like the craftsman section where we observed things being made. Joseph had a great sense of humor, was fun & patient with us as we shopped our way through the Medina. With over 3000 shops in the Medina, it is a good idea to have your own guide. We highly recommend them.

Informative guide who knows the Medina well!
Mohammed was a very informative guide with a lot of knowledge of the Medina bc he grew up there. He took us around to show us a few headed local spots, a few historical spots as well as typical tourist attractions. He is very kind and polite and even bought us some nice chocolates to try.

Don’t question whether you need a private tour - you do. Trust me.
A wonderful experience from start to finish. We travels to Morocco on a group tour but pealed away from the group and booked a private guide. We moved effortlessly throughout the Medina and were able to spend time shopping at our leisure. The Medina gets quite crowded and the passages are narrow which would make a group tour unbearable. This is the way to go!

When to visit

Pickpockets are common in the medina, so keep an eye on your belongings and leave valuables at your hotel.
Haggling is expected in the souks, so don’t accept the first price; you might end up paying less than a third of the original offer!
Many of the narrow lanes and souks are only accessible on foot, so wear comfortable shoes and expect to do lots of walking.
Modest dress is required inside mosques and other places of worship, so both men and women should have their shoulders and knees covered.
While Jemaa el-Fna and most of the main attractions are accessible, the narrow and uneven roads of the medina, especially the souks, can be challenging for wheelchair users.
