Top Malta Wildlife Watching in 2026

Admire some of Malta’s top sights at the most magical time of day during a private sunset cruise that’s designed with couples and small groups in mind. Opting for a private boat tour means that you’ll have the entire vessel to yourself, and will be able to customize your itinerary according to what you enjoy doing most—whether that’s swimming, snorkeling or watching the sun set from a secluded cove.

Explore Malta’s underwater world with a local. Locations are chosen according to the best sea conditions of the day, allowing you to experience clear waters, natural rock formations and thriving marine life away from crowded areas whenever possible. What truly sets this experience apart is the trained eye for spotting creatures most people swim straight past. From perfectly camouflaged octopus blending into rocks, to moray eels hidden in crevices, nudibranchs, crabs, sea stars, and schools of fish, you’ll discover the fascinating details of Malta’s underwater world while learning about the animals and their behavior along the way. Marine life sightings are not guaranteed, as we are observing wild animals in their natural environment. Important to know: participants must know how to swim comfortably to join this experience.

Visit the Malta National Aquarium in Saint Paul's Bay for a family-friendly activity in Malta. View the fish and sharks from the walk-through tunnel in the main tank, and peruse the marine and land creatures found throughout the more than 50 displays in the aquarium.
