Cooking in Cabo

We booked a cooking class in Cabo and I’ll admit I was nervous going in — it was 90°F with 75% humidity, and I assumed we’d be cooking outside in that heat. Instead, they started us off in a nice air-conditioned room with a chocolate tasting, walking us through how chocolate is made, then moved into a mole tasting and explanation. From there we loaded into a well air-conditioned van and visited a tortillería, carnicería, and local market to pick out our ingredients. Our chef, Issi, then brought us to his home, where we made chile rellenos, pico de gallo, guacamole, salsa verde, salsa roja, and more — plus a round of excellent margaritas. Issi was patient and hands-on, walking us through every step, and the food was outstanding. He even shared his recipes with us afterward so we could recreate everything at home. This was genuinely one of a kind — highly recommend if you’re looking for an immersive, hands-on food experience in Cabo.

My group, consisting of 10 family and friends, attended Chef Ari’s afternoon cooking class in her home in Cabo. To say it was fantastic is an understatement! We had the best time. Chef Ari is an incredible chef with the best personality! Her staff was very helpful and kind as well. She was even able to accommodate a gluten allergy with Zero issues (one attendee has Celiac). Her home kitchen is a dream! And the view from the outdoor kitchen is absolutely beautiful. We added a tequila tasting to our experience, we even specifically requested additive free tequilas to taste, and Matteo Nailed It! I would highly recommend signing up for the cooking class. You will not be disappointed! We will definitely we going back next time we are in Cabo.

When I arrived at the cooking class I was u firmed that I was the only one that signed up. As a solo female traveller, the staff made me feel very welcomed. I lived learning about the restaurant abs touring the ground. I am looking forward to returning to Cabo to sit down and try various food on the menu.

This is a must try experience, Alan was a real pro!

We joined Alan for a tequila tasting, as well as mezcal. He was very inviting, funny, and attentive. He catered to our group that had varying levels of knowledge. When not discussing spirits, it was really cool to just talk about his own experiences at distilleries or even in town. We didn't feel rushed at any point, he went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable, and while we knew the tasting was curated, he went the extra mile to adjust it on the fly based on just the conversations we were having. Highly recommend this experience, and say it's a must do if you're curious about learning more about tequila or mezcal!

Great family experience...

Great family experience learning how to make guacamole and empanadas in San Jose del Cabo. My son wanted to take a cooking class in Mexico, and we loved the experience. It was a relaxed experience with a great teacher and some good drinks for my wife and me. It was just our family in the class, and they did well with our 8 and 11-year old sons.

Be prepared for nonstop laughter and good times! Karina, her cousin, the musician, and their team really put on a show - to the extent that I didn't realize 3 hours had passed. We arrived to Cabo that same day we took the excursion, and it turned out to be the perfect 'stay up don't fall asleep' experience that not only helped us fight jetlag, but was also the perfect way to kick off to our bachelorette weekend. HIGHLY recommend! The food and drinks were great, the music, singing, and dancing were lovely, and the location is so cool too.
