What are people saying about Kyoto

Tailored to our needs!
Our guide, Yoshi, was a real pleasure, both on a personal basis and as a guide to Kyoto. He provided verbal insights to the various sights, and had pictures to help with explanations. My wife and I are in our 70’s, so we needed some accommodations to be able to get around easily and to assure we didn’t wear ourselves out. Yoshi was super helpful and tailored the tour to our needs. He seemed very genuine in his delight for being a guide.
I thought the sights visited were incredible, particularly Fushimi Inari. We spent quite of bit of time there, but the other shrines were impressive too. This is a great tour and if you’re lucky enough to get Yoshi as your guide, it will be even better.

One day in Kyoto
CC was our guide. She was fun and kept us moving and on time. There are a lot of tourist so make sure you take pictures of your bus number and parking location. Stay on time. We only had one day to do Kyoto so wanted to hit the highlights and we did. Loved Nara and the deer the most. We got back by 530pm so if you also wanted to see the Geisha street just get a later Bullet Train back to Tokyo.

The tour was a highlight of our trip to Japan
Mona was a fantastic tour guide. She is from the local area and is very knowledgeable and friendly. It was wonderful to tour the three sites with someone who had so much interesting history to share with us. We covered a lot of ground, but we never felt rushed. Going early in the AM is key. It would have been a completely different experience to visit these sites without a guide. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Great day trip to THREE places
We booked this trip because 2 of the 3 destinations are hard to get to. It was towards the end of our trip and we knew we would also be tired and bus time is sleep time. Candy communicated well with us and always sent us the location of pick up, drop offs, recommendations etc. We really appreciated that. Nara was really great and since it was a rainy day (don't let the rain deter you), the park was not crowded and the deer were chill. Umi is a beautiful town and because of the location and the rain, no crowds either. We LOVED it there and ate the best curry of our trip. The bus was SUPER clean. Great driver. We especially liked this trip because at each location Candy would lead you to the site and then you had your own free time. That kind of "tour" is our preference for sure. Transportation was smooth. We got caught up on some sleep. Saw some cool places. Ate good food. It was a long day but very worth it. I would highly recommend this to others.

Ninja Training
What a great time I had today, the ninja master took us through what ninja expectations were.
So we dressed up as ninjas learned how to use some of the weapons the ninjas use and their escape tactics. The ninja master and staff were so great it made for a great experience by every one in the class.
Highly recommend this for any one traveling solo and family’s great time will be had by all.
Cheers

Good day out.
Excellent day with hiriko. Very informative and easy going pace. Advice to people coming would be bring plenty fluids as if you comingnin spring and summer it can be very warm. Comfortable shoes and light clothing. Also dont skip leg day. As all the walking will drain your legs. But overall beauyiful day. We timed it right with weather.

Traditional Tea Experience
We went into this tea ceremony experience not really knowing what to expect—and from the moment we stepped inside, we were completely impressed.
Everything about the experience felt authentic, thoughtful, and incredibly well put together. We were dressed in traditional kimonos, which immediately set the tone and made the experience feel immersive. It also created some great photo opportunities, but more importantly, it gave us a deeper appreciation for the cultural significance behind what we were about to experience.
What truly elevated this experience was the guide. The level of knowledge, passion, and clarity in explaining the history and meaning behind the tea ceremony—and even the symbolism in the kimono patterns—was outstanding. It never felt like a lecture; it felt like a story being brought to life.
Watching the tea master prepare the tea was mesmerizing. Every movement was deliberate, precise, and rooted in tradition. It gave us a real sense of how much discipline and respect goes into something that might seem simple.
The highlight was being able to participate ourselves. Learning how to properly prepare a cup of Japanese tea, while also understanding the etiquette and manners that go along with it, made the experience both interactive and meaningful.
By the end, we realized this was far more than just a tea ceremony. It was a deep dive into Japanese culture and one of the most memorable experiences of our time in Kyoto.
Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kyoto.

6 Hr Kyoto Private Tour
Our tour guide, Kazu, was fabulous!!! He was extremely knowledgeable and showed us at our stops WAY MORE than we would have ever seen if we were on our own. He was so enthusiastic that he was willing to go hours over the allotted time to show us more! I would give him 1000 stars if I could!

Pam was our guide for a short, 2 hour waking tour in Kyoto, and she was wonderful. Was able to cater and adapt to last minute changes to our itinerary, and made sure that we were getting the most out of our tour. She was very knowledgable about the sites we visited (Fushimi Inari, Yasaka Shrine) and also made navigating by train smooth and easy. Highly recommend this tour and Pam as a guide!

We had the best time with our guide Lee leading our group. He was very knowledgeable, shared full of fun facts and jokes, organized and accommodating. I would recommend taking this tour with him. Loved all the sites included in this tour especially the Nara Deer Park

Authentic Kyoto!
Very informative cycle around the quiet areas of Kyoto. We got an understanding of the real Kyoto, away from all the crowds.
Our guide, Sean, was amazing and gave great insights to the shrines and places we visited.
A perfect combination of beautiful scenery, culture and exercise!
Highly recommended.
