On Lake Bodom, the largest in the Helsinki region, located just 25 minutes from central Helsinki, I invite you to an ice fishing initiation using the Pilkki, the Nordic fishing rod! Once there we will walk on the lake to find the ideal place where there is the best chance of catching fish. I will then explain how to make a hole in the ice and how to use the pilkki. Then it's up to you! You will be ready to catch lots of fish! At the end, in a Laavu, the traditional refuge, I will make a fire to be able to grill the makkara, the traditional sausages. Great history lesson!

Tatiana did a great job of explaining the history of Finland with clarity and humor. She also helped explain the character of the Finns with amusing stories. She traced the history from ancient to modern, ending the tour in the impressive new National Library. This tour was an excellent introduction to Finland and orientation to Helsinki. .

Anastasia our guide was fantastic. Friendly and easy to understand. Complete expert on Tallinn. Interacted easily with everyone. The instructions to get on the ferry were confusing because the times did not match up but we were able to catch the ferry. Suggest upgrading seats on the ferry other wise you are cramped the whole 2 hour ride

This was a fun visit to the beautiful town of Porvoo. Our guide, Alex, gave us some interesting info about Helsinki as we headed out of the city in addition to the interesting history of Porvoo as we traversed through the quaint town. There is a lot of walking, much of it on cobblestoned roads. Wear sturdy shoes!

Everything I hoped it would be!

This hike was everything I hoped it would be. Exploring Nuuksio National Park with Patricia was the perfect way to spend a Sunday outside of Helsinki. We met Patricia at the designated location in the city, she explained to us what was in store, and then she drove us to the park. Once we arrived, she briefed us again about the hike and pointed out points of interest along the way. I was especially impressed by her knowledge of all the plants we saw. Her explanations were thorough, and the campfire lunch was delicious. The hike itself was five miles, and we had a beautiful day for it. If you are thinking about booking this hike, DO IT!

Absolutely amazing experience

What an amazing experience. The tour was a last minute booking - booked two days before event. I was travelling solo and became part of a group of 5 plus guide. The meeting location was super easy to find and the vehicle was comfortable. It took about 50mins - 1hour to reach the campfire site. Once there, our guide "Szabi" was outstanding at providing local knowledge and what we could expect. He cooked us a beautiful campfire dinner of local specialties and allowed us free time to explore the wonderous wilderness that is Finland before we gathered to go moose hunting. It wasn't long before we saw our first moose and this was to be one of 8 that we saw. We were given ample time to watch and photograph and Szabi did all he could to enable us to get excellent photos. We also saw White Tailed Deer, a hare, an Owl but the main event of Moose was the highlight. Szabi was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all questions. He went above and beyond and provided us with binoculars, a heat sensing monocular and even a telescope so that we could see as much as possible but nothing beat seeing the moose up close with our own eyes. It was super easy to photograph the moose with just an iPhone. I found this tour to be well worth the money paid and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Beautiful park and David is so knowledgeable

I loved it! It was so nice to get out in nature and not worry about getting lost, as I sometimes do. David was a great tour guide and he has so much knowledge and respect for the nature. He showed us all the types of berries, trees, and bog plants in the area. We even saw a poisonous snake and David was fully informed and ready to handle any situation (nothing bad happened). The lake views are gorgeous and the air is so fresh.

Quintas and Jeff were awesome! Personable, professional, and on-time. They went out of their way to engage with everyone, work through any language barriers and anything else needed to ensure all had a great experience. The terrain is not very taxing, the food is tasty, and the sauna is…well, it’s an experience you really shouldn’t miss. We did not have much time in Helsinki and, when asked, they offered other interesting things to do that we would never have known about. Please make the time to do this tour. It is absolutely something you are unlikely to do any other way.

Great trip to explore and learn about Helsinki

Explored main attraction sites such as the Olympic stadium, churches, and the Island. Wonderful driver and clean car; excellent guide Sergio. Both were engaging. Tip: Wear proper shoes and proper attire as there will be walking involved on the island. Sergio gifted us with a Helsinki theme magnet at the end of the trip.
