What are people saying about Cusco

Rainbow Mountain
José is an amazing tour guide. He is very talkative and friendly. He picked the best time for the rainbow mountain, it starts to rain shortly after we start to descend. We didn’t bring any cash and he paid the entrance fee for us and we paid him when we are back in Cusco. He also took care of my friend when she had severe AMS, giving her meds and called a horse to carry her. We are very grateful for him and happy about the experience

Exceptional Tour
This was a very nice tour. Walter was very informative and funny. He gave us plenty of time to take pictures and ask questions. He patiently waited for us at the end to allow us to shop for our Alpaca souvenirs. I would recommend this tour and would ask for Walter as your guide.

Market tour and cooking class
Fantastic overall market + cooking class experience and highlight of our Peru travels! Mauricio was an excellent chef and knowledgeable guide. We had a tour of San Pedro Market, from which we had the chance to learn about the culture and history behind the ingredients we were to use in the cooking class. As for the cooking class, the food was delicious and fresh, featuring local ingredients to make ceviches, a multi-component entrée, soup, dessert, and drinks, and could accommodate allergies / dietary restrictions in the group. The cooking class / dining room area was spacious and bright. Would definitely recommend this experience!

5 Stars no doubt!
Very well organised. I was picked up at my hostel in the morning, transferred to the bus, then the train and bus again. The staff kept me well informed and I always knew what was next and what to expect. The tourguide was the best. He shared a lot of historical knowledge and kept a perfect pace! All together a five star experience no doubt!

Awesome experience @ Rainbow Mountain
The experience was well organized and the team of both Elisban and Alex were great. Starting later in the morning vs. the 4:00 AM option was great. Be prepared to have a late lunch (around 3:00), but you basically have the mountain all to yourself. Elisban did a great job explaining about the history and food of the towns you pass through on the way to your final destination. We stopped for some local bread along the way which was a nice treat. The second half of the drive is on unpaved roads, so it takes about 3.5 hours to arrive at the base of the Rainbow Mountain hike. You will need to bring 30 soles/person to enter.
The hike itself is a challenging trek at 16000 feet above sea level - the altitude is no joke. You can choose the option of hiking the first 3/4 or taking horses. If you are not a seasoned hiker, I would strongly suggest choosing to take the horses so you can save your energy for the final climb.
The views are beautiful, however, you should come prepared for all weather. We faced rain, snow and small hail - so proper clothing helps.
The hike back down is much easier than going up. You can choose to take horses back down, however, it is not necessary. The hike back to base camp is ~ 3 KM and the views are beautiful. It should be noted the van and tour guides come equipped with oxygen if anyone is suffering from the altitude.
Once we departed, it is about 1.5 hours of driving to reach the lunch spot. You order your food in advance so it comes quickly after you arrive. The restaurant is nice and the food was delicious. They also have clean bathrooms which is a plus.
On the final stretch of the drive we listened to music of our different cultures which was fun for all the passengers. We were back by 7:00 PM in Cusco.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend the tour.

awesome company
The tour was great, ATV ride was smooth and we had plenty of good spots for pictures.
I left my phone in the tour bus at the end of the night, and a staff member emailed me and told me they would contact the driver.
This company delivered my phone to my hotel the next day !! awesome company. thx .

Great Food Tour!
Sonia was a great guide, showing us all of the best places that are easy to overlook amongst all of the options in the city. Learning about the blend of Incan and Colonial culture was very unique and eye opening. The street foods were awesome, flavors that speak to the Andean heritage, and the coffee shop was a true gem find. Would highly recommend joining the Curious Monkey Food Tours group, they have great guides that care about sharing their city with outsiders not just for the money but for sharing their culture with others.

Best experience in Peru!
This was hands down the best experience we had in Cusco, and that’s all thanks to the chef Ronald.
From the moment we met him, Ronald was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He first took us through the Cusco public market and then to a local outdoor market where he personally shops for fresh vegetables. He explained everything in detail and made us feel like we were experiencing the real Cusco, not just the tourist version.
What truly stood out was how generous he was. Even though it wasn’t included in the tour, Yohon bought us local sweet bread and different vegetables to try, simply because he wanted us to experience authentic flavors. He didn’t expect anything in return, he just genuinely cared about giving us a great experience.
During the class, he was funny, engaging, and extremely knowledgeable. He walked us step by step through preparing the meals and shared cultural insights along the way. At the end, he even gave us a full list of receipts and told us to email him anytime if we had questions about recreating the dishes at home.
We would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Cusco. This was the highlight of our trip and easily the best excursion we did.

Wonderful and Unique Experience!
We had such an amazing day collecting materials to dye with, learning about natural dyeing and learning how to weave by wonderful experts! Our interpreter was also incredibly knowledgeable about the material himself and had a great respect for the work the women do and the history of the craft. Travel to and from was smooth, and lunch was delicious!

A beautiful site !
It was an incredible hike with so much to see! It is difficult if you’re not a hiker so I def recommend riding the horse up. The families that rent them are really kind and help guide you up. Our tour guide Joel was amazing and so kind. He consistently checked in on us the whole time to ensure we were having a great time!

This was the best...
This was the best horseback riding tour our family of 4 has been on. We were picked up promptly from our hotel, and arrived and quickly were mounted on 4 lovely horses that were comfortable and friendly. They seemed well-cared for, and throughout the ride they were easy to ride and seemed happy. The guide provided information about Devil's Balcony, and answered all the questions we had. It was a great tour and way to experience the countryside.

Amazing experience, book it!
This was an amazing experience! The private tour was guided by Louis who is very knowledgeable and shared insights on the history and culture. His driver, (also named Louis) was courteous and professional. We were able to see how fabric was made, purchase chocolate and souvenirs; however, the highlight of the trip was Moray! I highly recommend this experience.
