The tour was excellent. Our guide Alfredo provided so much great information and explanation of the Roman ruins site at Conímbriga and the museums we visited. If we had visited the ruins on our own, we would not have known the richness and intricacies of the experience. It was definitely a five-star experience!

You could do this on your own but having someone along is helpful and put us at ease. Alfredo went with us to the museums and told us all about the Roma ruins we visited.

Alfredo is the owner of the company. Very knowledgeable and fun. Only issue was that he would not pick us up at our hotel, although Viatour indicated that hotel pick up was included.

Tour was small and the guide (Alfredo) was friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Our family of four comprised the whole tour so we were able to go at our own speed the whole time. Tour includes two small archeological museums in addition to the Conímbriga Roman ruins. Be aware that you have to pay separate museum admissions. We thought the trip was totally worth it.

Fantastic tour of the countryside around Coimbra! It was very peaceful. The ruins themselves are great: they’re very well preserved. Excellent use of a morning and our guide was wonderful.

The Roman Ruins are amazing. Antonio, the guide is knowledgeable, kind and patient. My daughter has both minor motor and cognitive disabilities. He was so patient when walking with her and answering her questions.

Tour guide, Alfredo was very knowledgeable on the Roman history and is only reason why the 3 out 5 score. Unfortunately the tour was cut short due the closure of Museum PO.RO.S on Monday. Also no souvenir photo as advertised.

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry the tour did not correspond to your expectations but you chose monday to take the tour and the following is in the tour description: "Museu PO.RO.S–Roman Portugal Museum in Sicó is the newest museum... (closed on mondays)".
About the photo, as far as I remember I offered to take photos of you but you did not seem interested. Maybe I was wrong...!

Although have visited several times before, going with a guide filled in the missing history. We had not been to the aqueduct before so this was a lovely little find. Alfredo was fun friendly and knowledgeable.

What a big difference between just wandering around, and having a great guide! Alfredo was full of interesting information and between him, the museums and amazing Roman ruins, this was definitely a high point of our entire Portugal trip. I only wish we had time to take his other trips!

The garden fountains which still work! The mosaic floors are well preserved and stunning. The amount of Roman construction, the aqueducts and size of the larger homes were all amazing.

What is not to love !!! The best roman ruins and mosaics to be found in Europe!!! I cannot compare to other guides, but I think we got the most informed and thoughtful guide ( Alfredo). We had a most enjoyable and informative journey there and back. If you love history, it is not to be missed !!

Alfredo is an amazing tour guide and the Conimbriga ruins are absolutely incredible. So much well-preserved history and Alfredo’s knowledge of it all is vast. Alfredo felt like a family friend from the very start. My daughter and I got so much more out of our visit by having Alfredo as our guide than if we had tried to visit the site on our own. We will be back to take another trip with Alfredo in the future.

It was a warm day but we did not want to miss out on this experience. So happy with our tour guide and all the knowledge he shared about the Roman ruins. We were amazed by the mosaics and the fountain house. And the bath and water systems still visible today show us that things can be built to last.

Our guide Alfredo was very knowledgeable and made sure we learned as much as possible before visiting archeological site itself. That really enhanced the experience. We saw others wandering around by themselves. We are so glad we got the benefit of a terrific guide.

Alfredo was a great tour guide and tailored the tour to our abilities. My husband has issues with walking and seeing as this was our second tour of the day he was struggling. Alfredo worked with us to let us see as much as we could with our limited ability. I highly recommend this tour.

The entire day was amazing, starting with the outstanding Museum that explained the origins of the Rome, the Roman Empire and Conimbriga, followed by an excellent tour of the ruins and ending at the stream that supplied the water to Conimbriga. Ou tour guide was great - he was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions.

Interesting tour and guide was very knowledgeable. Mosaics in floor were beautiful-well preserved. We were happy to just do smaller museum but about Monday if you want to see full museum.
