One of the main attractions along Yangshuo’s scenic “Ten Mile Gallery,” this large, ancient tree is said to be over 1,400 years old. At 56 feet (17 meters) tall and with a trunk 23 feet (7 meters) around, this massive tree covers an area of nearly 11,000 square feet (1,000 square meters).

A riverside town south of Chengdu, Huanglongxi Ancient Town has a history dating back to at least the third century AD. Huanglongxi hosts a popular Fire Dragon Festival at Lunar New Year.
Perched on the southern slope of Guangzhou’s Yuexiu Hill, Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall (Sun Zhongshan Ji Nian Tang) is a monument built in 1931 in honor of the Chinese revolutionary. A bronze statue of Sun Yat-sen was erected in front of the hall in 1956, and the octagonal structure houses a collection of photos and letters from his life.
As a region surrounded by water, it’s not surprising that Hong Kong has over 70 temples dedicated to Tin Hau, goddess of the sea and protector of fishermen and sailors. Located in Kowloon, the Tin Hau Temple at Yau Ma Tei is one of the most popular and easily accessible of these and offers a peaceful escape from the bustling city.
Towering 125 feet (38 meters) above Tiananmen Square, the Monument to the People’s Heroes is a Beijing landmark. Constructed during the 1950s, not long after the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, the granite structure pays tribute to Chinese revolutionaries with inscriptions and reliefs.
Literally “the Street of Eternal Peace,” Chang'an Avenue runs through Beijing from east to west. Its core section, first built during the 15th century, houses Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the National Center for the Performing Arts (aka the Egg), and Wangfujing. Built in 1912, Zhujiajiao Kezhi Garden is the largest manorial garden in Zhujiajiao water town and one of the largest gardens in southern China. Featuring lovely gardens, courtyards, pavilions, pools, bridges, and paths in a peaceful and secluded environment, Kezhi Garden is one of the most popular attractions in town.
From the late 1700s to the 1950s, Norbulingka was used as an official summer home for the Dalai Lama. Today, it is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Tibet’s top historical attractions. In addition to a 374-room palace, the park is home to hundreds of rare plants, rose bushes, fruit trees, and even a bit of wildlife.
