Wonderful Day With The Elephants

Had an amazing time in this Elephant Sanctuary, where the Elephants are treated respectfully—no touching, bathing, or riding the Elephants. We got to feed the Elephants and followed them around their natural habitat. They even joined us to swim at the waterfall! Just know that it involves walking up and down steep slopes, and on rainy days it does become very muddy and slippery, so wear proper shoes and enjoy your time with these majestic animals. I highly recommend this experience! 10/10 ❤️

I really loved this tour. Mumu and Tom were my tour guides and were absolutely fantastic. Mumu is easily the funniest person I have met in Thailand. She was also super informative and I learned a lot about Thai culture through her! I came for Doi Inthanon, but I really enjoyed all the other stops on the tour.

Best thing we did in Thailand - the elephants were amazing. The day was well organised - WhatsApp confirmed pick up time. Guide Paul and Mr Arm looked after us and took plenty of photos. The waterfall was fun - glad we took our waterproof phone case though.

Great day trip

Great day trip tour from Chiang Mai. Sticky waterfall was fun and a refreshing experience and our guide was helpful and provided tons of interesting and educational information. Blue temple was a visual feast with so many great photography opportunities. Had a delicious lunch after the temple and then finished the day at Angel land where you are sure to find an instagram worthy photo spot or two. Great tour, good locations, and a fantastic guide. Would recommend and would do connect time I’m in Chiang Mai.

Adventurous Day!

A long but ADVENTUROUS day! Well worth it! At the Elephant Sanctuary, you can see the elephants are well taken care of and loved! Living as free as possible after being rescued. Doi Inthanon, so breathtaking being in the clouds. A beautiful tribute to the King and Queen. To end it with the waterfall hike was a perfect ending! Definitely got our steps in and the waterfalls were therapeutic to see and walk along.

Great way to see Old City

A fun outing that takes you through the backstreets of the old town, with stops at notable temples, the old city wall, and a food market. You’ll pass dozens of cafés and small shops. The guide was friendly, safety conscious, and knowledgeable about the sites we visited. I took the morning tour and it got hotter as the morning progressed. We had some shade and cloud cover throughout the ride, which was nice. The mountain bikes are in good shape, and the tour also provided a helmet and water bottle. Wear long sleeves or sunscreen. I wore a sun hat under the helmet which provided extra coverage which I needed!

Do not worry about whether this is an ethical tour or not. Doodoi is an elephant sanctuary founded by a monk who saved an elephant from harsh working conditions in the local logging industry. Since then all the elephants cared for at this sanctuary are Rescue elephants. We had a wonderful day learning about the elephants and making their food before feeding them. The elephants are very tactile and it is a privilege to be so close to them that you can look into their eyes, and they into yours - a deep experience! We also learned how paper is made from their waste (!) before crossing the river to their free area and bathing with them in the water. Our guide at Doodoi was called Moon and she loved her job and treated us really well, taking lots of photos and videos which we will treasure. Our driver Ming was lovely and very helpful, always answering our questions and clearly happy to see us enjoying the experience. We were even fed with freshly cooked food on site. Give this tour a go, we did and loved it and you will too. Don’t forget to make a donation while you’re there to help the Sanctuary with its work.

Must Do Adventure!

We visited Chiang Mai Elephant Care and were able to touch the elephants and feed them. I was happy that they had plenty of space and only limited visitors and that they were not taken out of their normal routine. Their caregivers gave us lots of interesting information. This was one of the best experiences we did in Chiang Mai and I would highly recommend it if you’re looking for a full day of adventure. The tour included ATV riding, white water rafting, a stop at the Sticky Waterfall, and food — which made it a really well-rounded and enjoyable day. Everything was very well organized from start to finish. Pick-up was on time, transportation was smooth, and the schedule flowed really well without feeling rushed. Each activity had enough time to enjoy without it feeling overwhelming. The ATV ride was a highlight. Riding through the jungle trails, dirt paths, and mud made it feel like a real adventure. The guides made sure everyone was comfortable before starting, which made it fun even for beginners. The Sticky Waterfall was such a unique experience. Being able to actually climb up the waterfall was something I’ve never done before and definitely worth it. It was also a great break in the day to enjoy the scenery and relax a bit. White water rafting was a great way to end the day. It was exciting and fun, but still felt safe with clear instructions from the guides. It added a really fun and energetic finish to the experience. Lunch was included and a nice addition — it gave us time to recharge and made the day feel complete rather than rushed between activities. A big part of what made this experience stand out was our guide, Mr. K. He was friendly, professional, and made sure everything ran smoothly. He kept the group engaged, explained each activity clearly, and really added to the overall experience. Overall, this tour is perfect if you want a mix of adventure, nature, and unique experiences all in one day. Everything was well coordinated and felt like great value. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.
