We had a wonderful time on this in depth tour. Our guide Ekky “Ed” was spectacular. He regaled us with great stories of Thai history on the drive to the park. We then saw beautiful waterfalls, hiked a lovely trail, had great coffee and more. We really appreciate how thoughtful he was in putting together the tour. Since it was a private tour we had some time alone at lunch and at some of the sites. He also knew where every quality bathroom was and came prepared to make sure we had everything we needed. This was a great way to see the countryside and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great day outside Chiang Mai.

Mr Yut was an amazing guide! He was super knowledgeable and taught us about the history of Thailand, the landmarks, and Buddhism. I am a spiritual person and was deeply moved by his explanations and ability to connect with us foreigners. If you are coming to Chiangmai, you MUST do this tour with Mr Yut! He also brought us snacks in the morning and is a safe driver.
Additionally, the tribe member that led us on the hike was very nice and helped keep us safe while walking on slippery terrain.
Lastly, the food during lunch was the best food I have had on my entire Asia trip thus far! Fresh passion fruit, watermelon, and pineapple were served for dessert.

The experience and tour overall was exceptional — we were battling with the weather for some of the day, but it turned out great nonetheless, with breaks appearing throughout the day that ended up creating memorable photo opportunities and experiences. The highlight, however, was our tour guide Tong and his associate “Magic Man”, who was our companion who accompanied and guided us on our hike through the park. I can’t emphasize enough to those that read this that 1) booking private was and is the way to go and 2) requesting Tong and “Magic Man” for your tour is an absolute must. If you don’t do these two things, you’re doing this tour all wrong and probably missing out. Keep in mind the weather obviously when you go — hard to control those factors and there is a chance that during the time of the year you go you may get a lot of rain and fog or haze. Having said that, even with the weather, Tong made educated decisions and adjusted the order we did things in a way that made the best possible sense with the unpredictability of the weather so that we could still get a complete and perfect tour. Highly recommend the tour, and highly recommend the two of them even more.

What a wonderful day we had with our driver/guide, Mr Yut, and our local guide, Mr Cher.
The whole day was seamless and beautifully planned.
We thoroughly enjoyed the waterfalls, the trek, the lunch, the Twin Pagodas, and visiting the highest point in Thailand.
Mr Yut was kind and professional, and his English was excellent. Highly recommend.

Our guide was Yut. He has a very comfortable car and is a safe driver. Yut speaks very good English and is an excellent tour guide. He gave us plenty of information about the National Park and easily answered all of our questions. He was also very comfortable just talking about life in Thailand. What a wonderful day in Doi Inthanon with Tong as our amazing driver and guide. He made it very special from the start, such a warm and funny person always checking we were ok and making sure we had everything that we needed. The small things like providing a local snack (which we probably wouldn’t have tried), tissues for the rest rooms, cold water, phone charger, and his recommendations for local Thai dishes and places in Chiang Mai (which were spot on!).
He made the trip fun and very informative and always offering to take photos for us. We never felt rushed but always looked after.
It was great to see the waterfall and then the 2 hour walk through the forest with a local tribesman called Cher, also very calm in nature. With his limited English we still got the gist of what he was telling us. He showed us the wonders of nature with many different little demonstrations along our walk making the time so much more about our surroundings and living in nature - hence Tong calls him Mr Magic Man! Grinding our own coffee, which was just delicious, in the village was a great way to finish this part of the tour.
The highest point in Thailand was another great part of the day.
We had another trip booked with Pagoda View Tours 2 days later and luckily we had Tong again as our guide!!! Great day thank you, if only all tour guides were like Tong! Highly recommend.

We had a great private tour. They picked us up at hotel and took us to the park. We went on nice hike, saw beautiful waterfalls, rice fields, coffee shop and wats at the end. Overall experience was nicely curated and our guide was great. Highly recommend.

Stunning experience. Yut was so friendly, insightful and accommodating. We learned so much from him. The forest hike with guide Boo (not sure how to spell) nearly brought us to tears. At the end of the day we enjoyed some coffee at a local village. Can't recommend enough if you want to see some authentic rural Thailand.

We had such a wonderful tour with our guide, Yut! He grew up in a smaller Karen village outside of Chiang Mai and shared about his experience growing up there, which felt special and unique. Yut was a really fantastic guide and seemed to have thought of every detail - he brought us water and snacks for the trip, and even had toilet paper for us for our rest stops. He offered to take many pictures for us (which turned out great!). We felt we had enough time at each stop, and never felt rushed. His English was good, and he was very knowledgeable. There was not a question we had that he could not answer. We also enjoyed our short hike with another Karen guide (Book) in the national park, who was gentle and kind. He pointed out so many things on the Pha Dok Siao Nature Trail we wouldn't have seen if we did a self-guided tour, including arabica coffee plants along the trail which we sampled berries from. At the end, we ground our own coffee at the small shop in the Karen village to create the perfect cup to cap off a great day.
We had considered booking a group tour as they were cheaper, but my partner and I were so happy to have spent the extra money (which was very, very reasonable by U.S. standards) for a private experience.

We had an outstanding experience on the Doi Inthanon Private Tour with Trek & Lunch from Chiang Mai, and a big part of that was our guide, M. From the moment we were picked up, M was warm, friendly, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great day.
M struck the perfect balance between being informative and relaxed, sharing interesting insights about Doi Inthanon, local culture, and the surrounding villages without ever making it feel rushed or scripted allowing us to actually enjoy each location rather than just checking boxes.
The trek itself was beautiful and manageable, offering great scenery and a closer look at everyday life in the area. Lunch was another highlight: delicious, plentiful. It was authentic and satisfying after a morning of exploring.
This private tour felt truly personal, not generic, and that's a credit to M's attention to detail and enthusiasm. This private tour was our best experience in Thailand! Mr. Yut was a smooth driver, always graciously opening the door for us, finding us the cleanest bathrooms and ensuring we had paper and cold water, ordering us an excellent lunch, all with a warm and polite presence. He took pictures galore of us and explained the religious symbols and royal family connections. Our time with him was interesting and peaceful at the same time. And in a continuation of the same soothing, gracious vibe, he also brought us to a very special guide, Mr. Book, who guided us for the hike and brought us to his village. Another calming, kind presence, always available to assist and take pictures, ending with fabulous village roasted coffee. (In particular, both gentlemen were caring for my mom’s knee injury and assisted my mom on the down steps—she got to enjoy a rigorous hike without risking a fall).
We also enjoyed the comfortable air-conditioned vehicle.

we had a perfect tour around chiang mai’s highest point along with a nice trekking trip down into a village where we saw villages culture and coffee. tour guide M was very helpful and friendly. he tended to our food restrictions and also took us to local restaurants and markets as well. great guy

We had a great day out with Mr. Oh. Being on a private tour meant that we got to all the spots before the crowds. His driver had a very comfortable car and was a safe driver. The highlight for us was the nature walk with a local Karen guide. The waterfalls on the walk were amazing and he was able to point out interesting birds and plants.

We booked the Doi Inthanon private tour (lunch and trekking included), and while the location was beautiful, our driver and guide, Tong, was the real highlight. From the moment he picked us up, he was incredibly warm and welcoming, immediately offering us snacks and cold beverages.
Tong is a fantastic conversationalist. We learned so much about Thai culture and the landscape just by talking with him. He was funny, gracious, and never pushy. What impressed us most was how prepared he was—we didn’t need to worry about a thing because he had everything covered. He was also very flexible and happily allowed us to change one of the tour options to suit us better.
We loved his service so much that we actually wanted to cancel a tour we had booked for the following day just to book Tong again! If you want a guide who is helpful, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about your experience, ask for Tong.

We had an amazing private tour of Doi Inthanon today! Our guide, Tong, was absolutely fantastic — incredibly knowledgeable, entertaining, and full of fascinating stories about the national park, Thai culture, Chiang Mai’s history, and local cuisine. Lunch was delicious, and thanks to Tong we felt like we were getting a truly local, intimate experience rather than a standard tourist trip.
The visit to the Karen village was especially interesting, and the coffee there was excellent. The waterfalls were stunning as well. Even though it rained quite heavily at times, it didn’t take away from the experience at all.
Highly recommend this tour and especially Tong!

Great visit to Doi Inthanon. Tong was a great guide. He made sure we were comfortable, informed, and enjoying our visit. He knew people along he route and introduced us. Since we had an early start he also brought us snacks from his home. Highlight for us was the trek though the forest with a great park guide. Even the rain did not take away from the experience.

Yut Yut Yut!! Such a great experience, all thanks to our guide Yut. A lot of these tours are so dependent on the guide and he did not disappoint. Everything was as described and it was so helpful to have him describe all the extra info tips around the temples, villages, etc. Ask for Yut when you book. Definitely a highlight of our trip overall (and this is from someone who doesn’t leave a lot of reviews either) :)

M was absolutely incredible. He was professional and very informative about the local culture on the long drive to the national park.
M is also an amazing photographer! He knew all the right angles and captured some great shots of us at all of the natural sites. We never felt rushed with M and he was such a pleasure to spend the day with.
At the end of the day, he went above and beyond when my mom wanted to buy a certain souvenir because he called a specific shop to make sure they were open and had the right item. M then drove us there and personally escorted us while we shopped (mind you this was well past the end time of the tour).

Our tour guide, Yut was amazing! He picked us up at our resort and was prepared for anything. Had umbrellas, snacks, water, and even toilet paper for me because he knew the women’s bathroom never had it. He was respectful, knowledgeable and a great driver. During the trek portion to a hill tribe and were led by a man named Monk. He was patient, knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor! He told us all about his family‘s history and the changes that have been made in the area to support his tribe. We had delicious homegrown coffee and fantastic organic lunch at his village. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

The tour was fabulous! Beautiful waterfalls, an amazing hike through the jungle and it was capped off with an incredible lunch at the local village. One of the best meals in Chiang Mai that we had. Our guide was terrific, explaining the culture and religion of the region while taking us up to the highest point in Thailand. I would highly recommend this tour for an exceptional experience.
