Great experience!
We had a great experience visiting the Citadel of Cairo and the mosques of Mohamed Ali and Ibn Tulun. Our guide, Ehab, was excellent! He explained everything in detail, was patient and very kind with us, taking lots of photos, answering all our questions, and giving us plenty of time to visit the sites without rushing. We also went to the Khan El Khalili bazaar and had time to walk around, look at everything, and negotiate to get the best price.
Our driver, Mahmoud, was very punctual and took us safely back to our hotel. Thank you both for such an incredible day!

Recommended (and ask for Fatima) :)
We visited the mosques of Ibn Tulun and Al-Nasir Faraj Ibn Barquq after which we had a short stroll in a few streets of the city of the dead. Overall almost 4h start-to-end
Our tour guide, Fatima Mohamed, actually made it into a great activity beyond our expecttation. Her knowledge and enthousiastic, direct approach to the history behind the areas visited was highly appreciated.
Pick-up of the hotel and return all fine, we really enjoyed this trip, thank you Fatima :)

Great trip and guide
First of all, we loved our tour guide Mimmo! He was very friendly and helpful, giving us several useful tips (this being our first experience in Cairo). He clearly had a deep knowledge of Egyptian history and culture.
We enjoyed the trip to the city of the dead, where we drove through the streets and visited some mausoleums, as well as the visit to the mosque Ibn Tulum.

Nice tour but not architecture-specific
Great way to see mosques in old Cairo. Guide was very nice and gave good general cultural context. Not much on the architecture or history of the buildings themselves, however, which was ultimately what we were after.

Tour was exactly what I wanted
The tour with our guide, Mahmoud, was exactly what I wanted. We visited three Mosques. Mahmoud explained the history and style of architecture of each mosque and told us where to capture the best pictures. Mahmoud is very knowledgeable, his English is great and he has a wonderful sense of humor. My husband and I had a great time on this tour.

When to visit

- The Ibn Tulun Mosque is a must for anyone with an interest in architecture. It’s a great choice for photographers, too.
- There’s no charge to visit the Ibn Tulun Mosque but donations are appreciated and may be requested.
- As always with mosques, dress modestly (covering shoulders, upper arms, and legs) and remove shoes before entering. Women should also cover their hair.
- Much of the mosque is wheelchair-accessible, although the minaret can only be scaled by winding stairs.
