Cascading water of Shaki Waterfall in Armenia
  • Shaki Waterfall can easily be visited independently, although you’ll need your own transportation and a good navigation system, as you’re unlikely to encounter many English speakers if you need directions.

  • Reaching the waterfall requires a short hike from a small car park—not longer than 10 minutes. Be sure to wear sturdy footwear, especially if you plan on walking alongside the waterfall or exploring the surroundings.

  • Technically, swimming is permitted—but the water is ice-cold, so you may want to refrain from diving in.

  • The area is a great spot for a picnic, in case you’d like to bring along a packed lunch.

  • Count on around 10-15 minutes (not including the walk) to visit the waterfall. The site is small. The cascade makes for a great photo opportunity, so don’t forget your camera in the car.
