Top Algarve Dolphin Watching in 2026

It was a great experience, everything worked perfectly, and the tour guide entertained and informed us excellently. It was 95 °F and being out on a RIB was exactly the cooling off we needed that day. That alone was worth the experience and then we had the great luck to see a school of approx. 50 common dolphins. An all-around completely successful excursion.

The experience was excellent! Guides were knowledgeable scientists and valued safety and ethics for the passengers and the dolphins. My only problem was that the seats were very uncomfortable. After so much time, it genuinely hurt. And they were very close together, so I imagine for bigger people, this tour may be almost impossible to do:( But we got some really incredible, closeup views of the dolphins (one was so close it even splashed us)! We saw common and bottlenose dolphins; they swam under and around the boat and it was just beautiful! Definitely wear a high SPF sunscreen because that ocean sun will burn you

I have been on several tours and really appreciate the team's work. They feel like they are on a mission of the heart and approach the animals carefully and respectfully, so that they come to the boat out of natural curiosity. At the slightest sign of disturbance, the dolphins are immediately given space. I have only experienced once that a dolphin showed a tail slap; it was unclear to me whether it was directed at the boat or an animal swimming behind it. Nevertheless, we kept our distance so as not to disturb the animals. With this considerate behavior, you experience the most wonderful sightings and ensure that observations are also possible in the long term without harming the animals. The crew also offers 3-hour tours, where you learn more about the animals, get a small insight into marine biology and marine conservation, and have the chance to observe several species because the longer trips allow for traveling further out. I wish the Sealife team much luck and success on their mission.

Never seen dolphins, and now got to see them up close for real. An incredible nature experience to see these beautiful, intelligent animals with the naked eye. Navigating through the caves in the dramatic coastal landscape afterward was worth the trip in itself, but felt more like relaxation after the dolphin watching.

Absolutely loved it. My whole family had an excellent time on the water. We got amazing views of the caves along the shore and then anchored in a secluded area. We paddle boarded and snorkeled while eating and drinking wine/soda. The crew were the best. Highly recommend this experience.

This was an incredible experience!! It was fun and exciting, and our tour guides pointed out so many different things along the way! We went into a lot more caves than just Benagil and the drivers made the ride so fun! We even saw dolphins! Definitely a highlight of our entire trip to Portugal! We would highly recommend books with Days of Adventure!!

Greatly organized. We saw countless dolphins right next to the boat. The crew was very friendly and the boat was comfortable. There was enough space and the children in particular were able to watch the dolphins from the best spots. The deduction in the price-performance ratio is because we participated as a family and that was naturally a bit more expensive. The tour is highly recommended!

Staff on board the boat were super friendly and really took care of the passengers. Despite the fact that we didn't see any dolphins and we ended up in a heavy rainstorm, the staff did everything they could to keep everyone positive with jokes and matching music and we succeeded! Raincoats were also distributed to everyone very quickly and pro actively. I found the rocks and caves very impressive, I didn't expect this.
