The walled village of Monsaraz is located atop a hill overlooking the Guadiana River and the modern Spanish border. Archaeological evidence indicates that the village has been occupied, in some form, since prehistory – understandable given its important location. Monsaraz boasts historic monuments, traditional homes, restaurants, cafes, and shops selling locally made products. Particularly notable is the Castle of Monsaraz, built by the Portuguese King Dinis in the 14th century. Join us on this tour to discover the enchanting medieval village and castle of Monsaraz. We’ll start by picking everyone up at the Roman Temple in Évora, then embark on a scenic 45-minute drive to the historic village of Monsaraz. Your tour guides are professional archaeologists specializing in the history of the region and look forward to showing you this spectacular village. Solo travellers are encouraged to message us directly regarding availability. - Iberian Heritage Tours

Our experience provides a true immersion in the rich prehistoric history of Alentejo, starting with the enigmatic Cromeleque of the Portela de Mogos. We continue to the Anta do Pinheiro Grande. Then we explore the Cromeleque des Almendres, the largest in the Iberian Peninsula. After this historic tour, we enjoy a delicious lunch at Restaurant A Ribeira, where you can taste authentic Alentejo cuisine. The afternoon follows with a visit to the Escoural Caves, a site with unique rock art, and the Interpretative Centre, where you will learn more about the remote past of the region. Next we visit the Anta-Capela de São Brissos, a fascinating fusion between a prehistoric dolmen and a popular cult chapel. This tour offers a combination of history, culture and gastronomy, in a natural setting that is a true treasure of Alentejo.

The village of Arraiolos is one of the most typical villages in Portugal and the Alentejo region. Located just under 30 minutes from Évora, it stands out for its picturesque flower-filled streets and whitewashed houses. It is a must-see for lovers of local crafts, especially painted furniture, cork objects, and pottery. But the main attraction is the world-famous Arraiolos rugs, an intangible heritage of humanity that has retained manufacturing techniques since the end of the medieval period, a legacy of Portugal’s Moorish past. You can also enjoy cork forest views. Finally, return to Évora with a sweet taste in your mouth after sampling a traditional Alentejo convent sweet. And don’t worry about transportation, because our private tour includes round-trip transportation from and to Évora for accommodations located near the historic center.

This is not just a boat tour — it is an invitation to discover a side of Sesimbra that few know. Our experience follows an exclusive route, created by us, that reveals the true Wild Coast north of Sesimbra. We navigate through places almost inaccessible, where the weather seems to slow down and nature remains intact, away from the usual tourist routes. Along the way, majestic cliffs, hidden beaches and secret corners arise, accessible only by sea. One of the most striking moments is the passage through Lagosteiros Beach, where the footprints left by prehistoric giants tell a history of millions of years — a moment that arouses admiration and deep connection with Earth’s past. On board, the environment is relaxed and genuine. The sound of the sea, the wind in the face and the freedom to observe, photograph and simply feel make this experience immersive, authentic and unforgettable. It’s a trip for those looking for more than just seeing — looking to feel.

This private guided tour will introduce you to cork, one of Alentejo's natural riches, accompanied by a guide specialized who will show you a cork processing factory and show you the natural environment (Montado) characteristic of Alentejo, in one of the most beautiful portuguese views from the top of the incredible Évora Monte castle. Cork is a plant material of Cork Oak (Quercus suber). Lightweight, resistant, and with great insulating power, it is an increasingly used raw material in the world with several applications. Portugal is currently responsible for the world production of 50% of cork and Alentejo is the region of excellence in the production and use of this natural treasure, which has always been part of the culture of the Alentejo communities.

Absolutely a must to visit this historic medieval village which is one of the most typical and beautiful places of Portugal and surely the most beautiful view of the interior of the Alentejo. Conquered in 1167 by the Christian knight Giraldo, The Fearless, the same conqueror of Évora, was later territory of the mythical Templar Knights that left a legacy of mystery and a very particular urbanity. The Guadiana River, due to the Alqueva dam, forms the largest artificial lake in Europe that in Monsaraz acquires a unique view that we promise you will never forget it. Discover also traces of ancient Arabian heritage board games or surprise yourself with an unexpected bullring. Discover a mysterious prehistoric megalithic structure and visit the largest pottery center in Portugal where, since prehistoric times, has been originated by handicrafts some of the most beautiful ceramic patrimony of Portuguese culture.

In 2015, we created the first private Jewish tour in Évora and, since then, we have introduced Évora's Jewish heritage to dozens of visitors from all over the world. What we propose is a visit to Évora based on the history of the Jews in Évora and in Portugal. In this private tour we will talk about Jewish culture, visit the old Jewish quarter of Évora with its old houses with marks of mezouzah, we will show the probable places of the ancient medieval synagogues of Évora, we will know the route that the old victims of intolerance made between the prisons and the place where they were killed in the flames by the Inquisition. Discuss with our guide the Jewish references in the medieval streets and understand the way of thinking of the most radical Catholicism in the period of the Counter-Reformation by visiting the Chapel of Bones.

The Mafra National Palace is the most important symbol of Baroque architecture in Portugal, built in the 18th century. Located in the heart of the village of Mafra, it is the only National Monument that includes a Royal Palace, a Basilica and a Convent. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2019, it has over 40,000 m2 and 1,200 rooms including unique spaces and instruments. This is the case of the Library with a collection of over 36 thousand volumes, the bell set consisting of two chimes with a total of 98 bells and the 6 organs that echoed again in the Basilica in 2010. Near Mafra, by the sea, we find the traditional fishing village Ericeira. We became World Surfing Reserve in 2011, (the 2nd globally distinguished reserve and the only one in Europe). Integrated in the Municipality of Mafra, it stretches between the beaches of Empa and São Lourenço, in a coastal strip that concentrates seven world-class waves in a space of only 4 Km: Pedra Branca, Reef, Ribeira d'Ilhas, Cave, Crazy Left. , Coxos and São Lourenço
