We enjoyed the experience, food was good, but a lot of $$ for what you received. Lindt factory shop was first stop, nice to buy something only available there. Our guide was great, he was friendly and informative. The restaurant was very warm. We had snow whilst there. The gondola and walk to restaurant was really enjoyable. I would recommend, but is expensive.

Our guide Peter was fabulous! This was such a fun tour as well as an amazing food experience. Peter gave a great tour of the city and made it come alive for us. We loved the funicular to the restaurant and the fondue was amazing! Wish I could give this more than five stars!
Holly_D, Oct 2025
Our tour guide, Peter, was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. We had several stops before we were able to get some beautiful sunset pictures. The fondue was delicious also.

The event was purely delicious and delightful. Small goup gave us a chance to bond. The guide was friendly and informative!

Conrad was wonderful if I could, I would give him six. The fondue was amazing along with the view. Definitely would recommend this tour.
CindyJ_F, Aug 2025
The Lindt Chocolate Factory was yummy. There is a bit of an uphill hike to the restaurant. But the view is awesome. Would have liked to have other meat and or veggies to dip, other than just bread.
Christin_C, Jul 2025
This was the most fun! We enjoyed our chief and all the other participants. We still use the same recipe to make the 3 pastas of Rome! Also the drinks were fabulous 😍! Book this experience!

Knowledgeable, cordial guide. Enjoyed the short visit to the Lindt chocolate home and store. This gives enough exposure so one can decide if they want to return and do the tour. Of course the highlight was the tram ride up the mountain and the cheese fondue dinner at the restaurant on top. Views to Zürich and up and down the lake are incredible!

Monika was an excellent tour guide, driver, and helper with all things along the way. She gave us information on the bus all along our trip with fun facts about the neighborhoods in Zurich. We stopped and walked around the pier for a nice feel of Lake Zurich and its many boats. The Lindt Chocolate shop stop is just for shopping but we focused on buying only the flavors not available in the U.S. It's also worth seeing the chocolate fountain ;) The rest of the trip was so magical. We took a cable car ride up to hiking trails that take you to different towns. We walked only about 5 minutes to Felsenegg where we had our dinner with a lovely panoramic view of the lake and Zurich's surrounding areas. The restaurant is nestled up on a hill that has no access to cars and is in the middle of a farming town. We had a pre-dinner drink, some finger food, a salad, and then the traditional Swiss fondue with bread. Chocolate cake was for dessert. The weather was extremely nice and it was a very enjoyable evening. Monika was a wonderful host with so much information about life in Switzerland. We enjoyed this evening so much.

I had a wonderful time on this tour. We visited the Lindt Home of Chocolate and enjoyed hearing about the beautiful scenery from our tour guide during the drive. We also took a scenic cable car ride up the mountains to Felsenegg, where we savored fondue and other delicious treats, all with stunning views.

Tried to cancel day before tour due to flight itinerary changing mid flight. Would not cancel and refund
Response from Host, Jun 2024
Dear Zachary,
Thank you very much for rating your experience with us.
We received your cancellation request on the same morning of the tour.
According to our general terms and conditions, cancellations and amendments with a refund are possible up to 24 hours prior to the tour start. We plan our resources according the numbers booked on the day prior. Especially with the small group tours, we arrange the coach and guide which all comes with its cost depending on the number of bookings received.
In situations like this, we strongly recommend our guests to contact their travel insurance to claim the lost tour since this was due to a flight change. If there is any documentation they need to evaluate your case, we will be glad to provide it.
We thank you for your understanding and hope that you will still keep your visit to Switzerland in fond memory.
Kind regards,
Ambika from Best of Switzerland Tours

This tour was very fun and authentic experience. We got to check out the Lindt store and auditorium. The cable car up to the fondue restaurant was fun. And the fondue was phenomenal. Our tour guide was friendly and helpful.
Meredith_L, Jan 2024
This experience was amazing and we had the best tour guide ever!! (unfortunately I can't remember his name but it started with an M). It ended up being a private tour because no one else signed up for it, me and my friend had the best time and got to see so much, the dinner and cheese fondue was also amazing. This tour is totally worth the money if you are looking for a good overview tour if Zürich to see a little bit of everything.
Andrew_A, Dec 2023
Meeting people from around the world and having dinner together. Conrad our host was a pleasure! Loved stopping at the harbor and taking the cable car to dinner.
Celeste_C, Nov 2023
Fantastic time! Peter was amazing and so kind. Absolutely worth the experience. The Lindt factory was so fun and the fondue was divine!
Tanya_F, Nov 2023
Andy the tour guide was kind and informative. The gift shop at Lindt was a great stop. The dinner was wonderful. We didn’t have good weather but it was beautiful regardless
Meghan_D, Oct 2023
Andy was an amazing tour guide! We loved the tour as we got to do the Lindt chocolate shop which we wouldn't have done otherwise and the gondola and views from the restaurant were amazing. We got the cutest swiss cow mugs after the dinner and we recommend this experience to say you have done fondue the right way!!!!
Danielle_R, Apr 2023
The best tour by far and the guide, Peter, was fantastic! While it was a little rainy, the views were still amazing and the fondue delicious. You definitely don’t leave hungry!
Only downside was the bus. We were packed in fairly tight and the seats weren’t very comfortable. However you didn’t spend too much time in the bus, so it didn’t detract too much.
Jim_L, Jun 2022
The dinner at the top of the hill with the evening view of the Alps. The full moon over the Alps was very beautiful.
Angela_M, May 2022
That was a dinner and top of a Swiss Alp where you have to walk up a mountain in dirt and dust to get to a dinner that is served with frozen tater tots and onion rings with frozen pizza bread cut up into squares then they serve a salad to share it with the table and a swallow of wine. you say on top of the Mountain for over 3 hours so that you are encouraged to purchase beverages such as beer and wine and you are so thirsty from walking up the mountain that the wine is just to quench your thirst you do not tour the Lindt t chocolate factory it is a stop for you to purchase chocolates not tour the Chocolate Factory also this tour is not as described because the fondue cheese and bread come at the very end as you are about to leave the top of the mountain to return back to the tour bus by which time you are exhausted and ready to go.
the best part was the people that I met that were from all over the world and extremely nice and kind the other parts that were nice with the view from the top of the mountain that was amazing however none of this is described and detailed for the description of the tour and people need to know that they have to walk and excessive distance to get to the dinner that is not a dinner it's frozen tater tots and onion rings and pizza bread that's cut up into squares for you to eat bite-sized this is way too much money to spend to eat food that you can eat at home from Walmart. And I didn't want to go to Lindt to only shop for candy I can purchase in USA
Response from Host, May 2022
Dear Angela,
Thank you very much for joining our sunset tour and for sharing your experience with us!
We regret to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. As stated in the tour description, the tour starts with a stop at the Lindt Home of Chocolate, where our guests can visit the Lindt café and shop but do not have time to do the audio-guided tour through the chocolate museum. For that reason, we have explicitly listed the visit as follows: “Visit of the new Lindt Home of Chocolate (only shop, no factory or museum visit)”
Afterwards, you continue to Adliswil, where we board the cable car up to the Felsenegg viewpoint. From the cable car station, it is 260 meters (approx. 5 minutes) to the Felsenegg restaurant, what we consider a fairly reasonable walking distance for anyone fit to travel in general. After a welcome drink – a glass of wine in your case, the restaurant serves a 4-course dinner consisting of appetizers, a salad bowl, a traditional Swiss cheese fondue with bread as the main course, and a homemade chocolate cake as the sweet finish of the day.
We understand from your feedback that the food was not to your liking and that the walking distance came as a surprise, but we kindly ask you to note the description on Viator matches your experience 1:1: “It is only a short hike through the magical forest to get to the restaurant overlooking Lake Zürich. Enjoy the breathtaking view on the terrace and delight in a choice of appetizers while you freshen up with a glass of white wine in summer. Then step inside the cozy Swiss restaurant and get seated at the traditionally decorated table. An assorted bowl of salad is followed by the outstanding original Swiss cheese fondue. To complete your culinary experience a homemade chocolate cake is served.”
Given that we do not see any mistake from our side, we unfortunately could not authorize a full refund as requested by you through Viator. While we understand your disappointment to a certain degree, we would recommend checking the inclusions listed and to read the tour description to manage expectations for future tours. We hope that the encounter with your co-travelers and the beautiful view partially made up for your experience and that you still enjoyed your stay in Zurich to the fullest.
For any further information or clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us anytime at info@switzerland-tours.ch. We are always happy to help and look forward to welcoming you on tour again during your next visit!
Best regards,
Your Best of Switzerland Tours Team

We were excited to go on this tour however dont be fooled that you are going on a food tour it is not that at all. We were collected at 3.45pm at the station there was only 3 of us on the tour. The traffic was quite busy getting out of the town, we were then told we were stopping at the harbour for pictures which wasnt on the itinerary. Because of this and the traffic it ended up us having 10 minutes to look around the Lindt factory outlet as the shop shut at 5pm. We then went to get in our cable car and go to the top of the mountain for dinner. The dinner was nice, setting stunning , the Fondue was average and the starters basically fried food. I feel a bit cheated by this tour!
Response from Host, Mar 2020
Dear Hayley,
Thank you very much for rating your experience of our small group-“Zürich Sunset Tour with Cheese Fondue”.
Basically, our tours only take place with a minimum of 5 paying guests, but as we did not want to cancel this tour and disappoint our guests accordingly, we decided to offer it anyway. If desired and if there is enough time, we include a short photo stop en route at the lakeside. However, we are truly sorry to hear that due to traffic and the photo stop you ended up having only 10 minutes left at the Lindt outlet store. We will certainly follow up your feedback with our tour guide to avoid similar incidents in the future and thank you again for your most valuable feedback.
Upon arrival at the Felsenegg viewpoint restaurant, our guests enjoy a choice of appetizers together with a welcome drink. An assorted bowl of salad is served before you enjoy your cheese fondue. To round off the four-course menu, a home-made chocolate cake is served. Switzerland is known for its high standard of living and the high costs associated with it. Unfortunately, eating out is not exempt from this and may seem rather expensive compared to other European countries.
We hope that you still enjoyed a wonderful stay in Switzerland and hope to welcome you back on our small group tours on your next trip to Zürich.
Best regards,
Best of Switzerland Tours

Excellent tour, enjoyed the stops at the lake & Chocolate Factory. The views from the restaurant were wonderful-as was the cheese fondue. Highly recommend
Kenneth_K, Oct 2019
The tour was excellent and the food was good. I have always wanted to go to the Lindt chocolate store and buy their chocolate. It is the best in the world in my opinion.

Awesome tour and guide. Evelyn was very knowledgeable and great company too. We had a lovely time - thank you for the experience!

Really enjoyed this tour especially the Cheese Fondue Dinner. View was amazing and great opportunity to pick up some gifts to take home from the Lindt factory.
Christopher_J, Apr 2018
This was a very nice tour overall. There really isn't much involved, simply a stop at the chocolate outlet and the Fondue Dinner, which is of course the best part. It is a lovely view from the mountain top, seeing Lake Zurich and the Alps, and having fellowship with others on the tour. The guide was super friendly.
Sheila J, Oct 2017
Even though it rained, the tour was wonderful. Our guide was great and provided historical and interesting bits about Zurich and Switzerland. The cheese fondue was yummy though most of the guests liked the non-alcoholic variety better, the salad was spectacular, and appetizers really good. And yes, now you get tap water with your meal, as well as a glass of wine.
