Get up close and personal with an Icelandic glacier on this small-group tour in Solheimajokull. This was hands down the best thing we did in Iceland! Our guide was so patient and kind. Having a small group was well worth the money to allow everyone ample time to climb. It was my family of four and father and daughter combo. My boys are 10 and 13 and ice climbed 40 ft.! I was so proud of them. The views were breathtaking and we had a perfect day of weather. Such an awesome experience!!!

It was amazing - my daughter loved it. I was more nervous as I am a bit scared of heights but I felt very safe and was extremely proud to make a good showing of it. Really memorable experience.

This was hands down the best thing we did in Iceland! Our guide was so patient and kind. Having a small group was well worth the money to allow everyone ample time to climb. So much fun! We had a great guide who explained things well and always made sure we were being safe. The group size was small (about 7 people) so we were able to do three climbs at different locations. He started us on a smaller part to help explain things to us and then we gradually went to more challenging places. We had a good group and we were out there a little longer than the 4.5 hour suggested time limit. It was a lot of fun and we highly recommend!!

We had a wonderful time! We went at our own pace, had the ice cave all to ourselves, took multiple climbs and our guide was very informative and interesting. We would highly recommend this tour.

One sentence, we did not participate in the event and did not get a refund.
We were 20 minutes early that day and navigated to our destination based on the address shown in the picture but did not find the operator, in fact this address took us to Vik. so I contacted Vaitor for the operator phone number and tried to contact with them, they gave me a phone number but that phone number was wrong. I had to send a message online to the operator to wait for a response. It also wasted some times. When the vendor responded with my phone number， it was already very close to the start of the event, and I realized the address on the website could not take me to the meeting point. At that time I told the operator it could take me half an hour to get to the correct address, the operator said they couldn't wait for me, I understood that and asked if they could arrange a refund, they said yes and would email me back. However I did not recieve the email and I contacted Vaitor again, Vaitor told me I could not get a refund.
I understand that I did in fact fail to arrive at the location by the specified time. I have reflected on the whole thing, but I did search for the address on the web page, not realizing that it was inaccurate, and also arrived 20 minutes early, and I don't think I am the only one at fault here. All in all it was a very bad experience.

Our tour guide, Bergur, is super! When I called him to make sure I parked at the correct spot, he answered my phone immediately. He's really patient with us, who were sort of beginners. He's also very knowledgeable about the area and the ice climbing. We did the ice climbing at two different places, the first one was easier and helped us warm up. The second one was steeper and more difficult. Bergur did a nice job to help us climb up. This tour is more fun than other ice walking tours. High recommended!

Breathtaking views! And our guide was amazing. He was knowledgeable about ice climbing but also Icelandic and Viking history. He was a patient teacher since this was our first time ice climbing. He seemed to catch in quickly to everyone’s ability and was very accommodating.

Very great tour. Walk for a while on the glacier with the introduction then we start to ice climbing. The climbing time and location are based on everyone’s stamina and will. Very fun and exciting.

We are a couple from the U.S. and had an amazing time with our guide. After a week in Iceland this was a highlight of our trip. We felt very safe while hiking and climbing on the glacier. This is a moderately strenuous activity between the hiking and climbing. It was all very approachable and our guide helped us the entire way through. Not only did we learn a new skill (ice climbing) we learned more about glaciers and the natural resources of Iceland. 10/10 would recommend.

Bergus, ( I hope I spelled that correctly) was amazing. I was driven by pure fear and excitement on that glacier. His knowledge on the glacier helped in trusting him. We climbed a 25 ft glacier wall, the repelled the wall. He gave us information on how the glaciers were melting and how it was affecting Iceland. I would highly recommend glacier climbing to anyone that is looking for adventure.

An excellent experience. Bergur was a wonderful guide and the tour was out of this world. Literately like you were on another planet. Must do in Iceland. We were the only ones on the tour so the overall experience was very personalized.
