The Vatican was a little overwhelming to me. There was a lot of art a lot of statues and an extreme lot of walking in order to get to the Sistine chapel. The chapel was beautiful but by that time I was exhausted. So many stairs going up and down wore me out. I was so exhausted. I totally forgot about going to St Peter’s Basilica and that was really where I wanted to see the church. I’m so disappointed. We did not have time to go back over to the Vatican to see Saint Peter’s Basilica. Very sad indeed.

Not convinced the fast track was actually worth it? We had a 12:30 booking & were asked to delay to join the 1pm entry Q - maybe that was the advantage (that we could just join the 1pm Q but unsure as no one checked our tix until scanned in.

Finding the location was very difficult, we kept following directions but it would always take to you to a place you could not access so Vatican staff would reroute you to the meeting point amd eventually we walked the hole perimeter of the Vatican amd again staff said we were at the incorrect location but they were kind enough to call amd the ticket were brought to us. Once inside it was a train wreck just chaos and no one willing to help or tell is where to go. There was never a guide and this was juat a pass we were told and im okay with that but not what I was expecting. Even without a guide I would recommend this just on the amount of people that were outside waiting to get in. Once we had the tickets it felt like we skipped a thousand people waiting to get in

I'm honestly not for sure how to write this review, because we are not confident that this was a legitimate operation. We arrived at the exchange site (which was also a Hop on, Hop off site) where the person argued with me about our booking time, even though I was holding the printed confirmation in my hand. He handed us and another family (who were feeling the same unease we were) a slip of paper and walked us over to The Vatican Fast Pass Line. He pushed us ahead of several people, then told us to wait until they called us. Several people in line became extremely upset and made a big scene, and started accusing us of cutting the line. We explained that we were simply doing what our guide instructed us to do, but it became a big issue. Even with the Fast Pass, it took us over 1.5 hours to enter. This seems to be a very shady operation and I would encourage visitors to buy the traditional fast pass tickets through The Vatican.

We booked and paid for a 5:30 pm Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel tour. At 1:45 pm the same day, I began receiving WhatsApp messages asking if we could move our tour to 4:30 pm or even 4:45pm instead. At that time, we were already on another tour and had prepaid tickets to visit St. Peter’s Basilica at 4:00pm before the 5:30 pm tour we purchased.
I clearly stated multiple times that changing the time was not possible. Despite this, the messages continued. Eventually, I was told that if we could arrive by 4:50 pm, it we would be “okay,” which already raised red flags based on other reviews I had read. Due to the messages, I was concerned we were going to miss this tour so we decided to visit St. Peter’s later and regroup with the tour company to receive our tickets. While switching our plans. There is a lot more to this part of the story but it is not enough space to share. We were rushing to get to the check in point, and when we arrived the guide escorted us partway, told us to enjoy ourselves, and then left us completely.
When we reached the official check-in, we were told that we were one hour late. We then learned that the tour company had actually purchased tickets for 4:30 pm, even though we paid for a 5:30 pm tour. We were allowed in as I could see the people felt really bad but then when we went into the 2nd check in point, we couldn’t get in with the ticket we had and they told us that the printed ticket they gave us, was not the correct one and they should know this. Thankfully, they were kind enough to let us in after I showed them our Viator paid receipt. This is completely unacceptable and we missed being able to see St. Peter’s Basilica due to the timing issue.
This company changed our time without consent, provided incorrect tickets, communicated poorly, and treated us unprofessionally. I strongly recommend avoiding this vendor.

Guide changed the time to an hour later. Asked to meet at 3pm and never showed up but the office printed a ticket to give us and told us to find gate 2. Very unprofessional and rude staff. Careful with booking.
