This was a great tour! Ahmed arrived early which we appreciated. He was very nice and knowledgeable. The lunch spot (blu blu) was very tasty. The Medina is closed Sunday’s (when we went) so we were given extra time in the Bardo Museum. Our driver Shihab was very professional and safe. We definitely enjoyed!

An excellent day’s sightseeing in Tunis. The guide, Bou Bou, is full of facts and fun. We started at the Bardo museum (amazing collection of mosaics), headed into the Medina, and finished in Carthage. A full day’s entertainment - highly recommended.

Fake Provider?

The tour operator ghosted. No call, no show. No one answered at any of their 3 numbers and aviator couldn’t reach them, either. Avoid

I was able to see all the top sights of Tunis in one day. My driver was great, pointing out all the points of interest along the way. I thoroughly recommend this tour , I had an amazing day.

Don’t waste your time on this one.

Nicole_J, Jan 2026
We only had one day in Tunis and thought this would be the perfect tour to get everything in. Our guide was nice but spent all the time at the free places telling us useless information and then just drive us past the archeological sites that we paid entry for. Then tried to end the tour at 315 to drive back. Once we realized he was trying to end the tour we asked why we had not visited 3 of the sites we paid entry for in the booking and they turned around, took us to one and gave us 15 mins, then acted annoyed the drive back to the hotel. Was very disappointing.

Fantastic overview of Tunis

Ketan_S, Jan 2026
We had Houda as our guide. She was absolutely fantastic. Very patient, very knowledgeable and adaptable to our needs. This tour went to the big 4: The Bardo Museum, the Medina, Carthage ( 3 sites) and Sidi boy said. I would highly recommend it, if you are able to get Houda it would be near perfect

Piss poor company, the cancelled my tour “due to weather” hasn’t rained once, I tried to reschedule, they didn’t respond, multiple times trying to get in contact with someone they don’t respond, why have a company and not respond to people that are paying for a service, I travel every month, and not once have i experienced this, don’t ever book with this company, worse service ever

Great Tunis day tour with Khaled and Oussema

wenchyan1, Dec 2025
Great day trip through key sights in Tunis. Very well planned and executed for efficiency, with both a driver and a guide. Highly recommend our guide Khaled - he had a fantastic wry sense of humor and struck a great balance of providing detailed information and giving us space to explore on our own. We appreciated how he intentionally sequenced different stops to minimize crowds and provide a truly local experience. Driver Oussema was also solid - punctual, friendly, and responsive. This is a great way to make the most of a day in Tunis and see all of the key sights

Mahar was Horrible customer service

christopher_j, Dec 2025
Private tour does not pick up at locations offered. Cruise port is listed as possible pick up location but after booking, even with it stating your pickup is at the cruise terminal we were notified our private pickup was 8 miles away at a hotel. Maher in customer service was useless and not nice to deal with. Bonus, our driver Shihab was amazing and Tunis is beautiful

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you for your feedback. We are thrilled to hear that you found Tunis beautiful and that the driver, Shihab, provided such an amazing experience. We will be sure to pass your kind words along to him. However, we would like to clarify the situation regarding your pickup to help future travelers understand the local regulations: Port Regulations: You selected the "Car and Driver Only" option. In Tunis, port authorities strictly prohibit tourists from exiting the cruise terminal without a licensed tour guide. Because your booking did not include a guide, we were legally unable to pick you up directly at the terminal. Booking Descriptions: Our tour description notes that pickups from the cruise port are subject to an additional fee and specific conditions based on the package selected. Advance Communication: As soon as we identified the conflict between your booking type and port regulations, we contacted you to explain the situation. We suggested an alternative pickup location, which you accepted prior to the tour date to ensure the trip could still proceed. Regarding your experience with our local staff, we sincerely apologize if the communication felt dismissive. We strive to be as helpful as possible while navigating complex local port laws, and we will use your feedback to improve our customer service tone. We are glad that, despite the logistical hurdle, Shihab was able to show you the best of our city. We hope you enjoyed your time in Tunisia.

Wonderful day in Tunisia

Betty_B, Nov 2025
The Bardo was amazing!! Our guide Kamel was so knowledgeable, his explanations thorough and the history made very clear. The driver was excellent and Sidi Bou Said was a beautiful town with picturesque buildings and viewpoints.

Interesting day trip

Christina_O, Nov 2025
Lots of different situation to visit it Carthage, personally after 2 they're very similar. More time is definitely required for Sid Bou. I'd skip the medina in Tunis and fo a city walking tour. French influence and history galore. Fst more interesting than cheap market fake goods. The Bardi museum was such an awe inspiring experience. Treasures after treasure, room after room. You genuinely need 2hrs to see it all

Bad communication led to some dicey locations

Jeff_O, Nov 2025
It was not good. It started with Bad communication about a meeting spot. I had reached out weeks prior to our cruise to ensure there would be no connection issues but never got a response. It was published that cruise port pickup required an additional fee which I acknowledged. A day prior to my arrival they sent an email that I did not receive because I was on a ship that they could meet me at the port with no charge. When I inquired through the app to where we were to meet, I was sent to a hotel in Tunis (40€). Imagine my surprise when I arrived at the hotel and found no one waiting for me. I reached out through the app again and was told that they were on their way from the port. The tour operator could not locate us at the port and was just leaving the port. They said they were on their way to pick us up but it would be 40 minutes. I inquired with Viator about a partial refund due to the mix up of my additional time loss and expense. They said they would request a partial refund from the tour operator. When the tour operator received the request, they cancelled my tour without telling me, leaving me in downtown Tunis. After about an hour (me not knowing my tour was cancelled), I reached out again to check on the status of my pick up. Only then did I learn I had been cancelled. After sharing screen shots of the evidence that I did not cancel the tour, the operator agreed to send a ‘car’ to pick me up. 40 minutes later, a random guy in a non-taxi looking Suzuki pulls up to a curb and indicates through the international language of finger pointing, making a phone hand sign, and louder and louder Arabic to get in the car as he is my driver. He took us on a ‘scenic’ tour of the real Tunis. I felt like I might be slipping into a Liam Nieson movie. The situation was worsened by the fact that my driver apparently spoke a dialect of Arabic that my google translate only understood every third word. After a 30 minute tour of the raw parts of Tunis, he pulled onto a side street, next to a white van marked “Tunisian Tours” pointed to another guy standing by the van and said “go”. My new chaperone spoke very limited English, but told me 20 minutes, and asked us to sit in the van. He was polite enough to give us a couple of bottles of water, smiled a lot, and kept checking his phone. 45 minutes later, we left and caught up to the group that we were supposed to be with. We didn’t get to see the Bardo museum, even though the tour price included admission tickets. We then went through the rest of the tour with the guide and some other people from our ship. One couple had also been told to go to the hotel as well but they were picked up. We were standing at the opposite corner of the block, they left on the whole tour unbeknownst to us. The only reason I’m giving this experience 2 stars, is because of the amazing sites of Carthage and I felt the guide did his best to make the most of our time. I requested a partial refund through Viator but was denied any refund. Based upon the tour operator, I’m not surprised. My recommendation is to spend more time in Carthage and not use time at Sidi Bou Said if you are on a limited time schedule. The guide was obviously in concert with some of the venders in the shopping area and after a 5-6 block walk through the city, we were introduced to his venders. Not a good tour for people with mobility challenges. We were returned to the port in time to catch our ship.

Not a private tour….

Dina_A, Oct 2025
I booked a private tour, with just 2 people….. but 8 more were added to this tour! They had older people that were very slow walking…. But, they were very nice. The guide was good about working all of the group to stay together and he managed our time well enough that we were able to make it to all of the destinations despite the slow ones! (Mr. Mahor was our guide) I do feel that I was misled that it was a private tour. Some of the others joining were coughing in the van so we hope we don’t get sick from them!? All of the listed destinations were wonderful, and the cab driver was safe in all of the traffic!

Beautiful Sidi Bou, Incredible Carthage, and discovering Tunis in 8 hours

Kevin_H, Oct 2025
Tunisia has fantastic history and sites. We started at the National Museum of Bardo and although we only had an hour, it was enough time to see the amazing mosaics which have been carefully taken from different sites around the country and restored under one roof. We were really impressed with the giant urns rescued from a wreck of a ship bound for Rome from Athens that dated back nearly 2000 years. Incredible condition Then on to Tunis for the sites and tastes of the under cover Medina. Loved the mosque too and our guide was brilliant showing us inside the hamman next to the mosque which agin dates back hundreds of years. Then onto Carthage. What an amazing view and the site is is incredible. Then a really good Tunisian lunch in Sidi Bou before walking around this beautiful village for the last hour. Can highly recommend for a taste of Tunisian history that you’ll never forget, in 8 hours

Fantastic experience - great tour

Sammun_M, Sep 2025
Brilliant tour - Boudet, our tour guide, is so experienced and knowledgeable, with fantastic English and it was so great to hear about the history and culture in Tunisia. Our driver Muhammad was also fantastic and punctual, and so supportive of my brother with mobility needs. We saw everything we wanted to see at our own pace and want to thank Boudet and Muhammad for their hospitality and knowledge, helping us to see the highlights of Tunis in a day!

Highly recommended- 5*

Tunis touring from cruise ship

Frederic_T, Jul 2025
We arrived on a cruise ship. Couldn’t get the tour we wanted on the ship but found this on Viator. Price very good. Fersi Faycel our guide was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and tailored tour to fit time off ship departure. Downside we had a rocky start due to tour not being allowed into cruise ship area. We had to walk to a pick up point which changed last minute due to some protest issue. Unfortunately we did not have wifi so took a bit of time to connect. Once sorted everything else went excellently.

Lots to see in Tunisia

Kathy_D, Jul 2025
Mohammed was a great guide and very knowledgeable. Be mindful of the temperature forecast as it was 103 degrees when we toured. Lunch was included as was snacks along the way. We hit the high points in the city, ate lunch and then motored out to the ruins at Carthage. We pit stopped at the North African World War II cemetery was is beautiful and is laid out like Arlington National Cemetery. Pick up and drop off right outside our cruise port.

Informative Tour

Jean_B, Jul 2025
First time to Africa. Very informative tour. The museum was very beautiful. The mosaics were amazing. Messina markets were different from any other cities we’ve seen. The ruins in Carthage were very interesting.

Best tour guide ever in Tunis

Connie_B, Jul 2025
What a fantastic introduction to Tunisia and its beautiful culture! Boutheina is the guide you want to ask for! She was phenomenal! Most informational, humorous, cheerful and energetic guide I have ever had! If I was back, I’d find her right away! She adjusted the tour to where we wanted to spend the most time. The lunch that was included was so delicious and was more food than we could eat. Any tour with Boutheina would be well worth it.

Cruise pickup

Brandon_C, Jul 2025
Booking host went above and beyond for pickup and drop off at cruise port. Day was enjoyable in air conditioned vehicle. English good from driver, we did not do formal guide and appreciated going at own pace with young child.

Surrounded by the beauty and warmth of Tunis and Carthage

Jean_S, May 2025
BouBou and her driver were great, fun, filled with knowledge. Her love of Tunisia, it’s history, it’s people was contagious. What fun to shop with her in the Medina, to lunch at Sidi Bou Said, and gaze with amazement at the Roman Mosaics in the Bardo Museum.

Response from Host, Jun 2025

Do not book

Alex_S, Apr 2025
DO NOT BOOK! This excursion was supposed to be a private tour that included lunch. We were put on a bus with several other groups who said the same thing about it was supposed to be a private tour but it was changed the day before. We had a late pickup and the guide did not give many details on any of the locations. For lunch we did not get to go to the cafe as promised and we had to foot the bill ourselves even though we had paid for the option. The company made several excuses without rectifying the situation properly. I would strongly advise against this tour as you will be mislead into a lacklustre experience.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Thank you for your feedback, Alex Scott. We’d like to clarify a few important points regarding your experience. A day before the tour—within the free cancellation period—we informed you that the private option would no longer be available due to extremely high demand during the Easter vacation period, when hundreds of thousands of visitors had just arrived in the city. At that time, we offered you several alternatives: rescheduling free of charge, joining the tour with a car and driver, joining a small group tour, or canceling for a full refund. You accepted to join the small group and were informed a partial refund would be issued accordingly. As this was a small group tour, a slight delay can occasionally happen as the guide collects guests from different hotels—sometimes a few guests may run late, and we communicated this possibility to you beforehand. Regarding lunch, it was included in the package. The guide took the group to the usual restaurant, where the set menu is fully covered. If you chose to eat elsewhere or order items outside the included menu, the difference would be at your own expense, which was clearly explained. We genuinely regret that the experience didn’t meet your expectations, but we did our best to offer transparent communication and fair alternatives given the circumstances.

Zero Stars Avoid Saharansky Tunisia at all Costs

Naim_I, Apr 2025
We booked this tour for 8 people through Viator with SAHARANSKY TUNISIA DMC for a 9:00 AM departure. We were on time and waiting at the hotel lobby entrance, exactly as instructed. After several minutes passed and no one arrived, we tried to contact the tour operator. No one answered. Viator support on WhatsApp was also very slow to respond and did not offer immediate help. Viator asked us to provide proof that we were in the lobby—we sent photos and videos with clear timestamps showing we were waiting at the correct location. Finally, at 10:19 AM—over an hour later, the operator messaged us claiming the guide had been there since 8:30 AN and couldn’t find us. This was completely false. No guide approached us at any point. We spent more than an hour looking for them even I went to the front of the hotel to look for vans. Frustrated and with our day slipping away, we arranged alternate transportation through the hotel at 10:05 AM and informed Viator that we were canceling. The tour operator texted at 10:19 AM! That is 79 minutes later. I called them to complain. He claimed they called my room and no one answered. he was rude, aggressive, and even threatening, telling us that booking another tour was “illegal” in Tunisia—completely outrageous. Later, the operator sent a still frame from my own video, bizarrely identifying a random woman sitting quietly in the back of the lobby as the guide—someone who made no effort to identify herself or approach us as our guide. It was a blatant attempt to rewrite the narrative. Despite our clear, timestamped evidence, Viator refused a refund, taking the side of the operator without properly reviewing the facts. Let me be very clear: SAHARANSKY TUNISIA is a crooked company that dupes customers. They lied, failed to deliver the service we paid for, and tried to blame us after the fact. Viator’s customer service failed to protect us or uphold basic accountability. Avoid SAHARANSKY: Unreliable and dishonest.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Viator has refused to issue a refund for your booking as it was marked a no-show. We submitted clear evidence to Viator, including CCTV footage, signed documents at the hotel security gate, vehicle GPS tracking records, and your own video showing our guide waiting in the hotel lobby. Additionally, the guide took selfies as proof while waiting. As confirmed in your WhatsApp conversation with our support team, you did not call the number provided on your Viator voucher. Our guide arrived at 08:45, which is 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. She asked the receptionist to call your room, but there was no answer. She then requested the receptionist to inform her once you came down. After 15 minutes, the receptionist told her you were likely still having breakfast. Another 15 minutes later, she was told you were no longer there. Please note that hotels do not allow guides to approach every guest individually to ask if they are joining a tour. Furthermore, the hotel where you stayed works with a transportation agency whose manager reportedly misinformed you that no guide was present, only to sell you an unlicensed, unguided tour. This practice is against Tunisian tourism regulations.

Mediocre tour

Shetal_P, Apr 2025
The medina in Tunis was not particularly great. Mostly just plastic tat and knock off bags and clothes. Found the locals to be bad mannered in general. Carthage was quite underwhelming, especially if you have seen ancient ruins in other countries. Sidi Bou Said was pretty with the blue and white buildings, and some stunning views of the sea. But again lots of tourist shops with overpriced tat. Got taken to a restaurant which was ok, food was quite bland. Our driver was ok. Didn't speak much except to tell us what time to get back to the car.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Thank you for sharing your feedback. It seems your review focused more on the destination itself rather than the service you received. Please note that you booked a car and driver only—without a licensed guide, lunch, or entrance fees included. For a richer experience, especially in places like the Medina and Sidi Bou Said, we highly recommend opting for our guided option. Our licensed guides not only provide deeper insight into the history and culture, but also know how to navigate the areas to avoid pushy sellers and help you make the most of each stop. We hope to welcome you again for a more immersive and tailored experience. Maher.
