Another fantastic tour with the venerable guide Chaouky and driver Maher (I had gone to El Jem with them the day before). As with the prior day, we left earlier than scheduled to beat the crowd (which meant Chaouky leaving his house at 4:30 am!) which made the entire experience pleasant and smooth. Needless to say Chaouky was knowledgeable and made the whole day informative with historical facts, trivia and fun (with his love of 80's American music), but what I noticed on the second day with him was how genuinely kind he is - and how passionate he is about his work - and how he wants visitors to understand and appreciate the history, the beauty and the people of Tunisia. After visiting the Great Mosque of Testour, we walked the streets of the town and he treated me to a freshly made Tunisian Bomboloni (MUCH better than the one I had in Sidi Bou Said) and later to a freshly baked Tunisian bread made by a local woman at a stand on the road - yes, amazing food is a sure way to get to anyone's heart, but the fact that he gave me the opportunity to experience the food in the way that local people do was particularly meaningful to me and it was indeed one of the best moments I had in Tunisia. Needless to say the sites are amazing in a different way from El Jem but if you want to go deeper into Tunisia's history, it is a must - a must with Chaouky.

Our guide BouBou was at the Hotel before 8 a.m. to pick us up and guide us out of the busy traffic in Tunis. It was a cool drive to Testour before it got hot. Bread making stop on the way was good and I recommend get the bread with everything for Lunch or if you skipped Breakfast. It was a lot of Roman history we covered in just 8 hours and at back in Tunis by 4.30 p.m. I guess. BouBou did an amazing job not only as guide but also sharing what are best spots for amazing photographs while walking through the ruins. Highly recommended day tour, you will really enjoy every minute.

The Roman ruins at Dougga and Bulla Reggia are spectacular and the sites were brought to life by Baligh our guide who provided a fantastically informative and interesting commentary throughout the trip.

Very important to do this tour if you are seriously interested in the Ancient Carthage and Ancient Rome. This site is more important than the Roman site in Epheus in Turkey.

A great way to see some of the most well preserved ruins in Africa in a one day tour. Magdi was my driver who got us there quickly but safely. And Skander was my super passionate and knowledgeable guide. He provided endless historic facts during every stop and each ruin and even throughout the van ride which is very comfortable. Highly recommend using this this company when in Tunisia.

The driver was punctual and safe.
The stop at the mosque is very brief so barely worth mentioning in the tour. The time at El Jem and Bulla Regia were good but felt rushed. We departed at 8 am and returned before 3 pm.
If you’re wanting to go to El Jem and Bulla Regia you’re better off finding a bus tour that will be cheaper.

However, we would like to clarify several points, as your comment is based on a misunderstanding: you booked the Testour – Dougga – Bulla Regia excursion, not El Jem, which is more than 4 hours away from Bulla Regia and therefore cannot be included in the same day. You also mentioned that it would be better to take a “bus tour,” but no bus tour exists for this itinerary, which is precisely why private excursions are offered. Our guides are qualified and follow the scheduled program, including the time allocated at each stop. We appreciate your feedback, even though the points you mentioned do not correspond to the actual excursion you attended.

We had a fantastic time visiting the ruins of Dougga and Bulla Regia. They are extremely extensive and impressive and a must see for anyone interested in ancient history.
Our guide Iskandar was extremely knowledgeable about the sites we visited as well as the modern politics and issues of Tunisia and provided so much value to the sites.
Our driver Anwar was equally great and took us safely and comfortable from place to place
Overall we would highly recommend to others!

Wow. What a great day exploring two amazing locations. Bulla and Dougga have so much to see. Well worth the long day most of which involves driving. Thankfully we were in a mini van which was spacious and clean. Our tour guide was accommodating and had a lot to say. I would just have skipped Testour. This tour was definitely worth it. A must if you like history.

Skander was an excellent and knowledgeable guide who gave us lots of insightful and fascinating detail to bring the ruins of Dougga and Bulla Regia to life. We hadn’t seen any of the subterranean houses and mosaics the likes of which are at bulla regia before, and Dougga’s vast size, uniqueness and impressive state of preservation make it a must see. It was also interesting to see what he had to say about Testour, which we may otherwise have inadvertently missed without Skander. We should also note that his tour and info at Dougga seemed to be far more thorough and comprehensive than those of other groups at the site, speaking to his strong grasp on all things ancient (such was his tour at bulla Regia too) . Would thoroughly recommend to anyone interested in ancient Roman influence in North Africa, or history more generally!

If you are interested in a knowledgeable and thorough historical tour of Testour, Dougga and Bulla Regis, this is the tour you want to book for your next visit to Tunisia. Our guide Ahmed was well prepared, showed up on time, accommodated our requests and had good answers for every question. His language skills were also top notch and he gave great insights into both historical and modern day Tunisia. This tour was worth booking and I would do it again during my next visit.

The hiking is reasonable, but with a lot of steep, uneven stairs. The guide maintained patience, but I sensed he would have gladly cut the tour short. The driver took us through Testor, with limited English. I would have wanted more information about Testor and spent another 15 minutes seeing the mosque. The guide didn’t meet us until Douga.

As for the guide, it is clearly stated that the guided portion of the tour begins in Dougga. This is a deliberate choice to optimize the itinerary and focus the guide’s expertise on the most historically rich sites. Our drivers, while not fluent in English, are experienced and trained to ensure a safe and smooth journey.

Yahya was an excellent guide - clearly knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions, as well as friendly and kind which always helps with a long day together. He went out of his way to give us a great experience and show us his favourite spots on the route. As two women we felt safe, even with a particularly friendly guard at one of the stops! Worth every penny.

Tour guide was very knowledgeable, driver was scary. Both hands off the steering wheel quite often, and at high speeds. Often over the signed speed limit. No cheese tasting was offered.

The sites are all excellent. Dougga especially. I also really liked Testour, this little, not very touristic, town. I had requested extra time here based on other people’s comments - glad I did, wish I had more. But the guide was rightly pushing, so that we would get to Dougga ahead of the tour busses. Totally right, totally worth it - a river of tourists arrived as we were finishing. Made a big difference. 100% recommend spending a Tunis day this way - and with this agency.

We took this tour in early January in French, and it was fantastic! Our guide, Chouaki, was one of the best we've ever had. We learned so much from him at each site. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and shared fascinating historical insights throughout the day. The tour truly became one of the highlights of our trip thanks to him. The different places we visited were really impressive, and we enjoyed the entire day very much. A big thank you again to Chouaki and I highly recommend this tour to anyone. It’s absolutely worth it!
