Our driver/guide David was excellent. He was a very safe driver and an excellent guide. He cares for his customers. He is courteous and accommodating. He even added a stop for us for some photo ops. He is funny and communicates well. I highly recommend David.

Small group (there were actually just the two of us) was the way to go! Quite ride and we had plenty of time to enjoy the venues. Highly recommended. David Petan was our guide and he did a wonderful job!
Caves were unbelievable, and the castle is great. Just wish the castle was a little bit more original and didn’t have so many modern tweaks to make it tourist friendly kinda takes away from the authenticity of the time period. We had a little misunderstanding of the time of the tour in the beginning, but after a couple hours on the phone with Viator, it was figured out, and they rectified the misunderstanding and took us later in the day. The driver and guide was a nice guy, but his speedometer hit 157 km which is high 90s in mile per hour. I understand he knows the roads really well but everyone in the car was a little nervous.
David was an outstanding guide for our Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle tour. He was flexible with our group’s pace, clearly knew the history inside and out, and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we got the most out of both stops. He made the drive between sites just as enjoyable as the cave and castle themselves, sharing context and stories along the way rather than just shuttling us between stops. If you’re booking this tour, ask for David, he elevated the whole experience

This was one of the highlights of my time in Slovenia. Postojna Cave is absolutely breathtaking—photos don't do justice to the scale and beauty of the underground formations. Predjama Castle is equally impressive, with its incredible setting built directly into the face of a cliff. Together they make for an unforgettable day.
What really made this tour exceptional, though, was our guide. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and, most importantly, incredibly flexible. He went out of h his way to accommodate the group's interests and pace, making sure everyone had a great experience rather than rushing us from one stop to the next. That personal touch made all the difference.
The transportation was comfortable, everything was well organized, and having the entrance fees included made the day completely hassle-free. If you're visiting Slovenia, I highly recommend this tour. It's an outstanding way to experience two of the country's most iconic attractions. Five stars!
Great way to spend a morning. We came from port of Trieste and our guide waited for us, despite being given misinformation by our ship staff. Make sure meeting points are as specific as possible. But David was a great and capable guide. Recommended.
Driver does not go in cave or castle with you! He was very nice and told us: some stuff along drive. We expected a tour of cave and castle

This is a great excursion! The beauty of Slovenia is awe striking! The tour is paced very well! Our guide David was epic he was so patient and went above and beyond for the other travelers with us! It was challenging to say the least but he handled so professionally! Highly recommend this tour!!
The cave was absolutely worth a visit. There is a 10 minute small train ride into the cave. I was mesmerized by the cave’s beauty. We walked ALOT inside the cave. It was paved but a good bit of walking was steep. There is a post office inside the cave so you can send a postcard home from underground. We then visited the palace built inside the cave. Very unusual and interesting. Ernie was a great guide. Very patient with us. He provided us with a lot of history and information about his home country.
We did this on a cruise port stop in Trieste Italy! It was perfect to see a bit of Slovenia! The cave was really cool biggest I have ever seen compared to Carlsbad Caverns and some others! The medieval castle was not to be missed it is like no other castle I have ever seen so interesting how it is built into a cave!
Wonderful half day trip to the famous castle situated on a cliff and the cave. David was very nice and made our trip so memorable! Thank you so much!! Would love to take another tour to different places in Slovenia next time.
Travelers should know that it is a level activity. They need to be able to do steep stairs and walk long distances.
Title led us to believe it was a private tour, it was not. When we returned I read the description again, at the very bottom it says limited to 7, there were 8 on our trip. We were never offered the bottled water. Communication with pick up was good. Guide was personable.
A stunning trip that was very well organised by David. Everything was clear and precise. The castle and the caves were amazing.
This tour starts by going to Predjama Castle, which is nothing like I’ve ever experienced before. Seeing how this castle was built into the side of a rock face was amazing, and then going from room-to-room to see the inside was interesting. From there, you travel to the Postojna Cave. The caves are 10 degrees Celsius year round, so make sure you have a jacket. I have never been inside a cave system before, so this was a first for me. The rock formations inside were spectacular. FYI, there were no stairs within the caves; it was all ramps. The Castle was nothing but stairs.
We loved Slovenia. Beautiful and wonderful places. Would highly recommend David. He was very accommodating providing transport from the cruise ship to the sites in Slovenia. Made sure we knew all about the sights we were seeing, including the castle and the caves! He helped us get our tour tickets set-up, helped us take photos, and kept our luggage safe. He was also knowledgeable about Venice and transportation needs. Parked and walked us to the water taxis area. Helped us with the luggage and to get on a water taxi to our hotel in Venice. Cannot recommend him enough. We had an enjoyable, relaxing day transferring from Trieste to Venice via Slovenia. Definitely a highlight of our two week vacation!!

Tour guide, Dave, was very informative. We were on a ship schedule so needed to be back on time & Dave ensured that we were, despite lots of traffic. We loved the caves & castle. . Very beautiful!

The largest cave in Europe is fascinating at every turn. Exploring the castle built into the face of the mountain was unexpected. Very fun!
Best part of our Euro tour so far! We knew little about Slovenia and David was very knowledgeable about history, geography, politics and culture. It was a fascinating and easy no hassle introduction to this amazing country. The cave was unbelievably beautiful and the experience well organized. We will seek him out when we return!
Dave from D-touring is an excellent, professional tour guide. He is efficient and responsive and responsible. He took initiative to reach out in advance about meeting time and logistics. Arrangements to tourists spots were great and gave good advice. I highly recommend him for small group private tours.
Tour guide is very friendly and took us to the castle and caves. He waited for us even to have a lunch at the cave. We booked the tour so we can get off the cruise ships and hop right on. Our suitcases were in the back so it was very convenient. He then dropped us off at our hotel and helped unload our bags when tour was over. Very nice guy and I highly recommend using him for private tour. Almost same price as if we booked a bus tour but would be less convenient and not great friendly tour guide.
The cave and the castle experience were both extraordinary. I’ve never experienced anything like this. Everyone was very nice too. Our driver David was very nice but we had no air conditioning in the back of the van which we should have had but he was very nice too.

The cave and midevil castle were AWESOME! My husband, son and myself all enjoyed this experience. The cave was very cold so be prepared for that. Our driver David made the visit very easy by picking us up at our hotel, and providing tickets to the sights. We would recommend this experience.
