It's a bit different from other Hop on Hop off tours. Be on time and be at the first stop when indicated on your ticket! When getting off, the tour operator needs to know what time you're getting back on! Otherwise a nice, historic tour.

Bus runs every two hours so difficult to hop off and on. Audio was informational and filled in history of the area

This tour gave us a good introduction of what the main highlights were to see in Trieste, at a very flexible pace. The audio commentary on the bus was very informative and this was complemented by further information from the onboard team member. There was ample opportunity to get good photographs as the bus paused approximately at the highlights.

A good overview of the town. Pick up spot was closer to our hotel than I had originally thought. Trieste looks like a nice place for a short stay. The one negative would be the bus stopped further away from the Castle than expected - too far to walk on a hot day, but weren't aware until we had gotten off. Oh well.

Don’t take this tour during the weekdays. They have only 1 bus running and the wait for the bus to pick you up could take almost 2 hrs. A lot of customers were frustrated with the long wait and sometimes were denied seats.
There were only 2 good stops to see - the castle and the church on the hill. Other sights were not interesting.

I only had one day in Trieste and the hop on/hop off bus was a great way to cover a lot of ground. The route had a lot of interesting stops, and the operator was conscientious about asking when I expected to re-board so I was sure to have a seat. The stops were well marked, and the map they give you has the times the bus will be at each stop. Very helpful. It was worth the price just to get to Miramare Castle which is quite far from town. It’s important to know that the stop is a good long walk away from the castle. It’s about 15 minutes away, so this isn’t a great option for anyone who can’t walk far. It is a pleasant walk right along the Bay of Trieste.

The best value in town. This tour provides transportation and commentary to all the best sites. Allow 2 hours at the castle and cathedral and 4 hours at Maxamillian’s house.

The meeting point was written in Italian and there were no street signs so we missed the connection. We were at the area where all the busses pick up but the bus was not there so we missed out. Poor directions, poor maps.

Could have been a good way for an overview of Trieste but the bus isn’t a site seeing bus so it is difficult to see out. Built more as a typical pass her bus with overhead storage that block the view. The audio commentary was fine. A lot of passengers simply used it as transport to the castle.

I read the reviews of this bus tour and was concerned about the many problems some users reported. We had NONE of the problems noted in our experience. The pickup place was clear (at the seafront near the main piazza). The tour came with a map which showed all of the stops and included a timetable for when the bus would be at those stops (about an hour between trips on weekends). The host onboard took our name when we got off and the expected time we would want to reboard (and had this information in her online system when they returned). There was also a number to contact if your plans changed.
A very good overview of the highlights of the city. Our bus was full during the off-season, so I do not know how they handle busier times of the year. A very good value!

The tour is very good, but the pick-up point is described very inaccurately. The tour literature says it starts at Piazza Unita d'Italia. It DOES NOT start there. Instead, it starts about 100 meters away and across the street at Molo Audace, a pier. We missed our tour and had to take a later lone, which caused us to miss other attractions in Trieste.

Unlike other Hop on bus rides, you need to reserve a space to get back on the next bus

The guide on you bus was knowledgeably, pleasant and tried helping with the abrupt cancellation that Viator did on my Lake Bled excursion. She really tried to explore options but unfortunately since this was cancelled so close to my tour date, everything else was booked and Viator ruined my weekend now.

A trip well worth doing. Trieste was very warm and it as an interesting trip, well worth getting off at the Castle which is approx a 20 minute walk away. This gives you plenty of time to explore the gardens and castle at Miramare, with a very pleasant walk along the seafront to the castle. What a great view from the castle, of Trieste!
