We had a once-in-a-lifetime experience exploring the streets and medina of Chefchaouen. Our driver, Abdul Latif, offered interesting info about Tangier and Morocco as we left the city and made the long drive, with a rest stop at a scenic lake. He drove us to a high point in Chefchaouen where we we met our sprightly city guide, Abdesalem, with energy to spare despite his eighty-four years. He guided us downhill throughout beautiful neighborhoods and paused at every photogenic spot showcasing the emblematic blue walls. Highly recommended.

Our driver was great and our guide in Chefchaouen was over 80 years old but kept up with us. He was dressed in traditional attire and walked with a cane (where we wanted him to photobomb our pictures). He was able to steer us away from the other large tourist groups and knew many great spots for pictures (with us being there without anyone else). He seemed well respected by the community and was able to keep hagglers (if there even was any) away from us. He only gave us basic information but everything else was amazing.

This was a great tour. The city itself is cool with the iconic blue buildings and brilliant mountains. This is an opportunity to see something unique and different. The driver and guide made sure to customize the trip, skipping a stop we didn’t want and ensuring to take us to authentic shops.. The owner even checked in on us during the tour!

This is a great day trip. The drive from Tangier gives you a wonderful glimpse of the countryside. Chefchaouen is an interesting place with lots of opportunities for beautiful pictures and views.

Our day trip to Chefchaouen was amazing! The drive to and from was very comfortable, and our driver Abdul made scenic stops along the way. He was super thoughtful in making sure we saw everything we wanted to prior to leaving. Our local tour guide was 83 years old and so kind, knowledgeable, and funny. He moved around the city with ease and seemed to know everyone! Highly recommend this experience!

Driver picked us up right in time from our hotel (though I didn’t receive any WhatsApp messages to confirm the evening before, just emails from Viator), it’s about a 2 hour transit to Chefchaouen from Tangier and we made one stop at a restaurant overlooking a beautiful lake (restroom break, too).
Our guide, Abdul, was a 83 year old local! Don’t let his age fool you, he moves at a fairly quick pace so if you want to stop and buy things/browse, you need to tell him. Otherwise he’ll walk you through the maze of the Blue City, show you each Instagrammable alleyway, and tell you all about the local history. Highly recommend!

On the way to Chefchaoeun, the tour guide Ali answered all of our questions and even encouraged us to ask him more questions. On the way back to Tangier, we asked him where to buy organic pomegranate. Surprisingly, he bought a bag for us.

Our tour through Chefchaeouen and Tangiers was excellent from start to finish. Our tour guide (Abdul) was communicative, helpful, knowledgeable, pleasant, and pickup and dropoff at the ferry was a breeze. We did this as a one-day trip from Tarifa (ferry departed at 9am and we took the 8pm ferry back) and we had enough time. The local tour guide (84 yo man) in Chefchaeouen was also a joy to walk around the blue city with. The views were spectacular, lunch was delicious (get the meatball tagine and mint tea!), and while yes they take you to some tourist shops as kick-back for friends, you'll find some good quality and reasonably priced items if you look through...so I wasn't too bothered by that (rugs, blankets, leather bags, spices, argon oils, etc.).

A beautiful drive from Tangier with a stop along the way to see the reservoir created by the dam. The town of Chefchaouen itself is unique and easily walkable. Lively and extremely friendly people. Our guide Abdul was informative and easy going, we had a great time.

Our guide was absolutely wonderful, both our driver and our guide in The Blue City. Felt incredibly safe and cared for, very personalized attention and was responsive to all emails. Our driver/guide was also very fluent in English and had such a great personality, this was how I spent my birthday with my two daughters and it was absolutely incredible. Yes, there is the carpet spiel at the end but it wasn't so bad and I did go home with a blue one in honor of the city:) Oh and our driver got us fresh strawberries because they were in season that we were able to take back to Spain with us! Absolutely amazing and wonderful, would book again any time!

At Chefchaouen the guide was an old gentleman in age but young in spirit. Very good and city not to be missed!
Only fact if I can recommend to the next travelers, do not hesitate to ask to stop, in case, to make purchases! In 3 hours, the Medina turns right.
Return at 4.30pm to the port.
