Overview

Get onto the snow with this snowshoe hike which starts around one hour from central Sapporo. You’ll visit an untouched trail through the forest, where you’re guaranteed to see some wildlife. Beginners are welcome, and your guide will give you instructions. AFter lunch in Jozankei, you can try the traditional Japanese hot springs.

Note that snacks are included, but lunch in an extra expense
Entry to the hotspring, or Hoheikyo Onsen, is included

What a great, fun day! Sumi was just excellent. She picked us up from the hotel, had all the gear that we need and took us on a stunning trail. She even had tea and little treats for a small pick me up half way through her tour. We ended the day at a beautiful onsen, surrounded by snow and had delicious curry. Absolutely fabulous

Great scenery, great snow

It probably helped that the weather was perfect. Blue skies, no wind. The scenery was terrific and the 2 hour trek on snow shoes was great fun. Not too taxing - very enjoyable

Excellent Trip with Sumi

We got tried after 10 mins walking using snowshoe gears, Sumi and her team went beyond the way to accommodate us to other places which they don’t need to that. Everything still awesome even without the snowshoes and onsen. We were able to experience perfect snows at asahiyama kinen park. Her service mindset and good attitude are the best.

The whole experience was amazing. Sumi was the best guide knowledgeable, very outgoing and experienced guide. As a 76 year old Nanna, I found sliding and sledging down the slopes was exhilarating and my granddaughters had a blast. A surprise on the walk was a rare sighting if a black woodpecker, very lucky omen. The Onsen visit was also memorable with Sumi explaining the protocols and customs in great detail. Our thanks to Sumi - and Takki who accompanied us and he was so courteous and attentive, especially when I fell in a couple of snowdrifts!!! Thoroughly recommend it. Enjoyed every minute of it. 10 out of 10...

Snowshoe Hike in Hokkaido

This is definitely a must-do in Hokkaido. The mountain was peaceful and safe. I never felt so calm. Our guide, Sumi, was thoughtful, fun, outdoorsy and intelligent. She speaks very good English since she lived in US for some time. We are her last Snowshoe Hike for the season.

Highlight of our time in Hokkaido

Sumi's tour was the highlight of our time in Hokkaido area - She picked us up from our hotel, took us on an amazing snowshoe adventure, and even included a sled for our daughter to sled the hills and brought warm tea and snacks for our break. The ONSEN was magical and a perfect way to end the afternoon. Sumi was warm, engaged and such a pleasure to spend time with. We learned so much and really had an exciting day, ending the day with deep relaxation. Thank you Sumi!

Snow Shoe Tour

This was so much fun! The idea of trying to do something yourself is logistically complicated, but it is easy to just be picked up, driven and brought out to the mountain in the snow. We had a lot if fun and Sumi san was very nice. The onsen was also beautiful! We were in the hot water while it snowed. Definitely worth the time and money.

Highlight of our trip to Sapporo

We were in Sapporo for the winter festival and were going to go skiing. Given we had never snowshoes we decided to try this activity. We are so glad we did it was excellent. Sumi picked us up, we went to a beautiful hill/park to snowshoe. It had snowed a lot the day before so we had deep fun snow for snowshoeing. Sumi brought hot tea and snacks. We then went for lunch and to the onsen. She dropped us off at our Airbnb. Sumi was so nice, a great guide. Highly recommend this activity.
