We were were shown places where we dont expect to see on our own like thw tunnel were most people pass through, the markets and tasted the mochi in maruyama park and the delicious hokaido curry soup. Emilio gave us a wonderful time.

This is a walking tour. Your host will meet you at your selected hotel, and the tour will begin on foot. If you’d prefer to meet at a central location instead, please choose the meeting point option. Poorly organized and not worth the cost

We paid over $200 for a four-hour “walking tour” that turned into aimless wandering in the rain and subway stations with almost nothing to see. The guide had no plan for bad weather. She had a terrible sense of direction and timing—often leading us in circles through subway stations and taking the longest routes instead of simple transport options. She repeatedly suggested the chocolate factory, even though it was at the very last station stop, far from where we were. We saw only the government building, reached the Beer Museum an hour before opening, and were dragged to an art museum she said she was visiting anyway. The tour ran long, and I had to end it myself. Completely unorganized and not what was advertised. I appreciate however that the company provided a full refund for our experience.

Ryo (Leo) was an awesome guide and really customized the tour to what I was interested in! We saw so much of Sapporo, and it was great to get a sense of the city from his perspective, having lived here for many years. Even outside of the tour, Ryo provided some wonderful recommendations for the rest of my time in Sapporo and other cities I would be visiting in Japan. I was a solo traveler, and it felt like having one of my friends show me around his city!

A great day out with Leo (Ryo) as private guide. He is a fluent (native) English speaker but also Japanese and knows Sapporo very well. It was like getting a private tour from a friend. It was somewhat unstructured, which I really liked because we were able to stop into various stores and other places of interest on the way, whenever I wanted - and Leo made recommendations

Sapporo City Tour with Shiunn Tei

Shiunn Tei is a great guide. She was on time, very personable, and spoke excellent English (and Japanese!). Shiunn accomodated our request to visit artisanal producers, we had a memorable experience at a traditional tea shop. The owner had a wide and deep knowledge of Japanese teas and importantly, showed us the how and why of brewing. The next step Shiunn shared the founding of Sapporo city and showed us sites (free!) you wouldn't normally find. We toured government buildings-sounds boring but it wasn't in her hands. There was a brief stop at a cafe decorated inside with dried flowers, very pretty and cozy. We then went to Maruyama park which contained a large, beautiful shrine. Shiunn pointed out a shop that made fresh pancakes with bean filling, a Japanese treat. It was a refreshing break! Next was the underground passage/shopping way that connects Sapporo Station, Odori Park, and Susukino. The walkways are a necessity in a city that receives ~16 feet of snow a year. It was an easy, and cooler way to walk with no street traffic. If you need retail therapy, this walk is for you! Loads of stores at the north end at Sapporo Station. Here is where we parted after 4 hours of touring, and we went on to enjoy a tempura and soba lunch. Thanks Shiunn, we had a memorable time.

Zarina our guide was most patient and professional. She took us to so many places and told us so much about the city, all the notable buildings, neighborhoods, sculptures, temples, shrines, and parks. She is full of knowledge and I don't know how she remembers all of that! She took us to this amazing curry soup noodle place and it was to die for. She was so kind. We had a most memorable day! Had a wonderful time with Zarina walking around Sapporo. She had wonderful knowledge of the area and we learned so much about the culture there and how different it was from the rest of Japan! I absolutely loved the city and would definitely go back. The local beer, sake, ramen, and fried chicken we got to taste helped.

Had a great time

We only had two full days in Sapporo and we loved our 4-hour tour with our guide Akihiro, a Sapporo native who studied in the US. We wanted to make sure we hit the highlights and his tour was a great orientation given our limited amount of time. We were able to change the meeting point to our hotel which was very convenient. Good communication over WhatsApp beforehand where he considerately asked if we were ok with walking or if we wanted a more relaxed pace. He met us promptly and helped us set up our travel card for the subway and bus - the tour is mainly walking but using public transportation got us to the attractions quickly. Really enjoyable tour of some of Sapporo’s highlights (Maruyama Park & Hokkaido Jingu shrine, Okurayama Ski Jump where, after going up in the chair lift, the view over the city is amazing, Sapporo Clock Tower, Nijo Fish Market). Sapporo is a lovely city with a lot to see and do - if only we had been able to spend more time there.

My tour guide was Zarina and she was awesome - communicated early and I appreciated her flexibility as my flight was delayed and which then delayed my arrival to the tour. I also appreciated that she took into consideration my “wants” from the tour which was to try local food - the soup curry was delicious! What is quite nice about the tour is the flexibility and catering to what you want to do and see. I typically like to have things planned our but it was nice to be able to pivot - my tour occurred during the snow festival so it worked in my favor that we were not committed to a set schedule and could make things work as they go along. Thank you Zarina for making my one and only day in Sapporo so memorable!

Outdoor fun, great food in Sapporo

My guide, Emilio, showed Sapporo to me from a local's viewpoint. We went to the Fish Market and sampled the food there. So many seafood produce, 1 day wasn't enough! We went around Sapporo, to the parks, which i enjoyed very much, to the Hokkaido shrine and the shopping areas. The highlight of my tour was walking through the Maruyama Park.
