The view of the different landscapes were breathtaking. Enjoyed our time at the Black sand beach ... very relaxing.

Our Santorini tour guide, George was wonderful. If you had no time requirements, this is a great tour. However it was chaos when we got up to the top. we waited for about 40 minutes for the tour company to show up. We waited another 20 minutes so they could figure out who was in what group. Some of us had paid for 5 hours, some for 3 hours but they took us altogether. Because they started an hour late, they wanted to make it up to us. By the time they ended the tour, the only way down was to walk down to catch our ship.
Response from Host, Jul 2024
Thank you for your kind words about our guide. To avoid chaos we strongly recommend to pay more attention with exact pickup time communicated to you 48 hours in advance tour start time. As well we highly recommend reading Meeting and Pickup section of this tour description more attentively. It states that the tour start time mentioned in your tour ticket may vary from the actual time communicated to you in advance. Safe travels!

Our tour of Santorini was an unforgettable experience, made exceptional by our guide Angeliki and driver Giorgos. The tour blended the charm and the breathtaking beauty of the island. Angeliki's knowledge and passion for Santorini's history and culture enriched our journey, while Giorgos' expert driving ensured a smooth ride. The attention to detail, personalized service, hospitality and the warmth of both our guide and driver turned this excursion into a highlight of our cruise. A must-do for anyone visiting Santorini, this tour deserves a resounding 5 stars!

The tour was educational. We learned the history of Santorini as well as details about the daily lives of full time residents. Traffic was very bad with only 3 ships in port. Make sure to leave lots of time for the cable car.
Photios_T, Oct 2023
Great tour with Gianni and driver Spiro. Gianni was entertaining, funny and so very informative. His love and passion for Santorini was very evident in his narration. He went above and beyond to make our Santorini tour unforgettable

We could not of had a better day. After managing the line and the 2 hour wait for the cable car, we made it to the top. We had a delightful lunch on a patio in the heart of the town. I was in contact with the tour guide, we agreed to meet at 1:30pm and was greeted by a delightful young lady, who walked us to her parent's tour company. It is there that we meet her mother who owned the company and she was just as delightful. It was 8 of us so it was a private tour and Chris was our tour guide. He was fantastic. Santorini was beautiful. We had the perfect day and it ended with an amazing sunset . Then back to the cable car. My advice this tour is amazing BOOK IT..... DO NOT TAKE THE 568 STEP WALK A LADY ON MY SHIP FELL AND BROKE HER LEG.....PACK YOUR PATIENTS AND WAIT IN THE CRAZY CABLE CAR LINE..... AND TO SANTORINI YOU NEED TO ORGANIZE THIS CABLE CAR LINE IF DISNEY LAND CAN ORGANIZE LINES I AM SURE YOU CAN..
Santorini was beautiful

The 3 main stops were ok. We really did not need to be dropped off at “lunch” which we needed to pay for at 1:15 pm and told we would be picked up at 2:45 to be taken back to the cable cars which by that time was a 2 hour wait!! Average tour.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
Thank you for your feedback. We are a bit puzzled by your statement that "lunch was forced." Could you please clarify who or what compelled you to have lunch? When time is not an issue, we provide our guests with some free time after the guided portion of the tour, allowing them to explore, shop, dine, etc at their own pace. This approach is generally well-received in all the Mediterranean ports that we cover. Santorini is no exception to this, as most of our guests appreciate such opportunity. However, we understand that not everyone may prefer this schedule. If you'd like a more flexible and personalized experience that aligns with your travel preferences, we recommend considering booking a private tour. This way, you can have greater control over your itinerary without depending on timing and travel wishes of fellow travelers.
As for cable cars, It's worth noting that when multiple cruise ships are docked in Santorini on the same day, there can be long lines throughout all the day. An alternative choice, albeit less favored by the majority of American cruise travelers, is to descend on foot. We wish you safe and enjoyable travels!
Stanford_C, Oct 2023
It was a very good tour, guide was knowledgeable and easy to understand. We saw the highlights and they waited for us to get to the meeting point. We were on a cruise ship so had to take the cable car from the port. Try to get off the ship early as the lines for the cable car are long but they move well enough. When finishing the tour, ask the guide to direct you to the end of the line as they are long going down as well.
Chloe_K, Oct 2023
George was a fantastic and friendly guide. The tour itself was great and ticked off lots in one day.
AmandaCelestina_F, Sep 2023
The tour itself was ok. There could have been a more comprehensive description about the sights and stops where we were left to venture out into. The place was crowded, hot, muggy, congested, and really from what I recall, nothing monumental stood out about this place with the exception of the Black sand beach and the blue capped religious monuments. Then, I won’t don’t even want to discuss the trek back to the cruise ship , which entailed either taking the donkey down the side of the mountain, scaling down the side of the mountain or waiting 4 hours for the tram, all of which had nothing to do with the tour, but it is indeed a harrowing part of the process? Is it really worth it? I don’t think so.
Response from Host, Sep 2023
Thank you very much for sharing your feedback about your recent tour with us. We acknowledge your sentiments and agree that the journey to and from the ship to the pick-up spot, involving the cable car or staircase, is indeed separate from the tour experience we provide. We understand that this part of the trip can be challenging due to the options available and the waiting times, especially when the place is crowded. We apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused you and appreciate your understanding on this matter. We strive to give comprehensive descriptions and insights at every stop and are sorry if you felt the information provided was not sufficient. We value your feedback and will continue to work on improving our services to offer a more enriching and comfortable experience for our guests. Thank you again for your understanding and for bringing this to our attention. Kind regards from Santorini

Driver guide was amazing Chris. The company went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience
MELISSA_M, Sep 2023
George was well versed in the area and took us to some unique spots and quaint cities. Everything ran on schedule, which was much appreciated.
Charles_M, Sep 2023
Santorini is amazing, and our guide did a great job of pointing out the high lights and mixing in free time.
Kathy_H, Aug 2023
Santorini is beautiful and the people we met along our tour were wonderful. But there was some confusion because our tour was supposed to start at 10:00 with several stops and a 2 hr 15 min stop at the beach to end the day. We waited and it started at 10:30 with another group and the beach time was about an hour. I think they combined 2 tours and changed the itinerary from what I signed up for. I was also a little shocked regarding some of the comments about other cultures/countries/lifestyles from our tour operator. I didn't hear that anywhere else during my 5 island tour of Greece.
Response from Host, Sep 2023
We kindly urge you to diligently review the information provided in this tour description, as well as any details sent by Viator to your email and phones regarding pick-up. This will help facilitate smooth coordination and prevent any inconveniences. Please note that the tour description explicitly states that the start time of the tour is adjustable, depending on the arrival and departure times of the cruise ships in port on the specific date.
The duration spent at each site is subject to factors such as the number of cruise ships in port on a given day, traffic conditions, and the pace of the specific group. We understand that the coordination among all participants can sometimes cause delays and we appreciate your understanding and patience in such instances.
For guests seeking a more personalized and uninterrupted experience, we recommend exploring our private tour options.
We have noticed some remarks concerning comments made by the tour operator about other cultures, countries, or lifestyles, which were described as shocking. To address this concern and enhance our service quality, we kindly ask you to provide more specificity or clarify the context of these remarks.
Your feedback is highly valued, and we thank you for your understanding. Best regards from Santorini.

This was a great tour, small group and we hit all the best spots in Santorini. It's a little walk to get to the spot where the van picked us up, but the guide was waiting at the top of the cable car and it was very easy. Had time at each stop to look around and do a little shopping. Made it back to the cable car with plenty of time to get back to the ship. This was a nice tour as it was a small group and not rushed.
Christine_S, Aug 2023
We were told to meet at 2:45 and that a boat would be picking us up. We were at the port an hour early and no one was around. When 2:45 pm came we looked for the company. No one was around. We finally found a young guy holding a sign. He said he had been there but we were in that spot multiple times. He said that the boat came and went at 1:30, and we would have to take the cable car to the top. The line was over 2 hours long. He told us we could walk up and it would take 15 min. It was a very strenuous climb up 600 stairs. Meanwhile, donkeys were transporting people up so we had to avoid donkeys and step around donkey poop. (Not always successful). We finally made it to the top and found the company again and they told us we had to wait for two more couples and then we could leave. It was now 3 pm. We were exhausted, sweaty, and dehydrated. We asked to cancel but the head of the company came out and took us back to the office to use the bathroom and have water while we waited. We started our excursion at 4 pm and had u til 7:00 pm to be sure we made it back to the cruise on time. The tour guide Michaela was very good and knowledgeable, but we only stopped at a few places to take pictures and she told us some history while driving in a bus that was slightly cool. We finally made it to Oira and we took some picks and had an hour for dinner and had to be back. We had no time to shop because of the time lost. The start of the excursion was very unorganized. We paid a good amount of money and our time was cut due to communication issues and lack of follow-up to emails sent regarding the original plan of transportation. Btw, when the boss took us to the office to wait the young man who was at the bottom was in the office. He had some way to get up without waiting in the cable car line or walking up on foot. My thoughts were if we were paying for an excursion then why wouldn't he take us up without having to walk 600 steps? I felt terrible that we didn't get much time to spend on an Greek island that we so looked forward to seeing. I understand that there were five cruise ships in port, but they should be better organized. I would recommend getting to the top and looking around at all the shops and then taking a taxi to Oia. It would be less money and more organized. Don't get caught in this excursion trap. Personally, I feel that we should have received our money back or a portion for the amount of time we didn't get from the tour.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review. Santorini is indeed one of the top three most popular destinations in Greece, which accounts for the high number of visitors, especially when multiple cruise ships dock on the same day. The island's hilly terrain and limited access from the sea make disembarking a complex logistical challenge. Our company representative suggested climbing the staircase as an alternative to the crowded cable car line based on your preference to avoid waiting. While we understand this option may not be ideal for everyone, the island currently offers only the cable car or staircase for ascending from the port. We're glad to hear that despite these challenges, you enjoyed your time with our guide and the beauty of Santorini itself. Best regards from Santorini!

Great trip, bus was a good size and cool, tour locations were spot on. Nothing was too slow or too fast or took too long. A slow start as we had to group together and wait for fellow passengers but to be expected as most people were coming from a cruise. Would recommend :)
Sandra_R, Jul 2023
Great experience, Marcella was super nice, friendly, gave us a lot of information about Santorini and it’s history, and it was a plus the bus with a/c! Summer is really hot there. She gave time for pictures, answered questions, and we didn’t feel that we were rushing all the time like other tours. We had a wonderful day!

Jacob is absolutely incredible. We have done several tours since being in Europe and he kept our group laughing, organized and completely in awe of his hometown. His love for his home and his job is apparent. This guy should run for mayor! We saw so many beautiful hidden gems that only a local would know
Melissa_M, Jun 2023
This tour was one of the best we’ve been on! The tour guide “Elvis” was funny, outgoing and full of facts and did a great job explaining the history of Greece and Santorini. He worked the tour in a way to provide us with the sights while trying to avoid the crowds as much as possible. Highly recommend the tour company Santorini Karavas Travel!

Our party of 4 were a part of the Santorini 5-hour shared tour during my recent cruise stopover, and it was, without a doubt, a truly remarkable experience that exceeded all our expectations.
Upon disembarking the cruise ship, we were promptly greeted by our amicable tour guide Chrisanthy , its Greek female name, she let call her Chris. She would be our gatekeeper to Santorini's countless gems. The enthusiasm, rich knowledge, and love for Santorini that Chris embodied added an extra layer of interest and engagement to the entire tour. The tour was comprehensive, covering a delightful blend of historic sites, traditional wineries, and picturesque towns. The famed archaeological site of Akrotiri, often referred to as the "Greek Pompeii", offered an intriguing journey back in time. The visit to a local winery was another highlight of the tour, showcasing Santorini's unique wine-making process followed by a tasting of the island's delightful wines - a sensory treat for any wine aficionado.
The crowning glory was the visit to Oia, a scenic village that offers panoramic views of the island. This allowed us to witness the world-renowned Santorini sunset, a truly unforgettable sight that filled the sky with an explosion of mesmerizing colors.
The tour was seamless from start to finish. The transportation provided was comfortable and punctual, the driver Nikos was such a gentleman! As well we her English, Chris’s communication was top-notch , providing clear instructions on meet-up times and places, ensuring no one was left behind or lost,
All in all, our Santorini tour is an exceptional value for money and a fantastic way to see the highlights of this beautiful island especially vs overpriced huge group tours provided by the ship . If you're stopping over in Santorini on a cruise, don't miss out on this enriching, captivating, and mesmerizing experience. It's a slice of Greek paradise you'll never forget. Ask for Chrisanthy if she is available.

George our tour guide was wonderful!
Charming and full of info for us.
Would highly recommend.
Great day in Santorini
Gianna_D, May 2023
