Itinerary

Make your own way to Vlychada Marina and jump aboard to begin your morning caldera sailing cruise. Soak up the scenery as you set sail around Santorini and stop at Red Beach to cool off with a refreshing swim. Dive into the warm waters of the Aegean Sea and make the most of the boat’s snorkeling equipment to spot colorful fish and corals around the shore.

Back on board, keep your camera to hand as you glide along White Beach and pass landmarks like Akrotiri Lighthouse and the black rock of Mavro Vouno, nicknamed ‘The Indian’.

Marvel at the ever-more dramatic scenery as you sail around the underwater caldera, stopping to stroll the black sand beaches and explore the volcanic islands of Palea and Nea Kameni. Take time to soak in the volcanic hot springs and relax in the mineral-rich waters before climbing back aboard your ship.

Re-fuel with a delicious BBQ lunch, including fresh seafood and Greek wine, as you lounge on deck and sail past Aspronisi island. Finally, make a last stop at Mesa Pigadia beach for another swim or snorkel, before ending your tour back in Vlychada.

This is the best way to sail and experience swimming in the ocean and hot springs. We enjoyed a more intimate experience and the crew and food were amazing! I definitely recommend for a more private and unique experience!

We did this to celebrate my husband’s birthday and had a fantastic time with the other guests and the crew. Would absolutely recommend to anyone considering this experience as everything was well done from prompt pick up, overall sailing, great food and cold drinks.

The trip was fantastic! The crew were very friendly, attentive, and had many interesting stories to share. The food was so delicious and plentiful! The stops to swim and snorkel added much fun to the trip. The weather on the water was beyond perfect even though it was hot on land. We would definitely recommend the trip to others!

Amazing Experience Highly Recommend

Amazing experience. Started off with being picked up from our hotel (which we were messaged the day before, with pick up times) which was great. We were warmly welcomed onto the boat by Chris the captain and Marieangela. The boat is lovely and clean with plenty of space for us to either sit at the back or the front. The maximum amount of people is 10, however we were lucky and there was only 8 of us, which gave us a little extra room! We stopped 3 times for some short swimming and snorkelling opportunities, while being told about the surroundings by Marieangela. The lunch was massive with plenty of prawns, spaghetti, potatoes, vegetables etc to go around. Very nice. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend going via Barca sailing. The only thing I thought was maybe we would stop at the hot springs ? It did seem busy around the area, but it did not make the trip any less worth it ! Thanks Joe

Yanni gave us the best day of our holiday! There are a lot of great things to do on Santorini but without a doubt this was the best decision that we made. First of all the choice of activity. There can be few better ways to spend the day at the height of summer mid-August than out at sea, cruising around the dramatic geology and imposing islands of the caldera, stopping to plunge into the refreshing waters of the Med every few hours. Secondly, the choice of boat - a 49 foot sail boat, with plenty of room for the ten passengers and two crew and the opportunity to enjoy most of the five hour excursion under full sail. And most important of all, the simply wonderful captain and crew. Yanni and Thakis were the best weve ever had. Yanni is a great skipper: thoroughly capable, an experienced sailor with total command of his boat, a real character and just a little bit crazy, with a wonderful way of making everyone feel involved and a with a great sense of humour. And the chance to get to know two other lovely families who we will keep in touch with for long after we leave Santorini. Whats not to like?

Another excellent Viator experience. When we managed to get ourselves lost trying to find the meeting point, a call to the office immediately set things right, with a car coming to pick us up right where we were. Ioannis gave us a lovely day on the water in spite of unseasonably cool weather, finding a place out of the wind to swim and then another quiet place to eat. The meal was unbelievable - how he produced that massive spread from the galley in such short order, I'll never know. This trip would be absolutely stupendous in warmer weather. Highly recommended, especially if you need a break from visiting ruins!
