Pickup details

Travelers should take an Uber or taxi to Park France and wait for our properly identified transportation. Our off-road vehicles will pick you up there to take you to the Iral Cloud Forest and back to the same point. The journey takes approximately 50 minutes. They should arrive 1 hour before the set time. To arrange private transfers to hotels or other locations, contact El Iral directly.

Once in a lifetime experience

BOOK IT! This is the definition of a hidden gem. What an experience. My wife and 3 year old also had a fantastic experience. The drive up, the nature, the restaurant, the hospitality. Everything about this trip was a 5 start experience. I only suggest to pack sweaters as it can get chilly at such high altitudes, and also have an equipped vehicle to get up the mountain. We had a 4x4 and was lucky but a standard car might have a hard time, as we’ve seen one struggle up on our way down.

This was a gorgeous property. I would definitely recommend it to anyone staying near San Jose to explore the cloud forest. The roads are a pit gnarly getting to the property and I was glad to not have to navigate them in the rain. When we got there, we found out they had opened up the place just for My son and I, which was an honor, but I also felt bad that they had to stick around while we were hiking. We never felt rushed, though. The trails were well maintained, and clearly marked. We downloaded a trail app that was easy to use to make sure we were on the correct trail. We were given long distance radios so we could call in if we were having trouble. The lunch served afterwards was delicious and made fresh when we arrived back after our hike. Bring bug spray ( my son did pick up a tick along the way) and raincoats as it did rain on and off.
