Overview

Visit the Irazú Volcano National Park and Lankester Botanical Garden on this all-day tour from San Jose. First, head to Irazú Volcano, the highest active volcano in Costa Rica at 11,260 feet (3,400 meters) tall and see its most popular attraction, the giant Diego de la Haya crater. The experience both before and during was fantastic. They were very accommodating and the tour itself is very good. Through WA they accommodated my pick up and a day change and a special request for drop off. The tour itself was good. The volcano was a bit cold and it rained, so come prepared. The gardens were nice, if you like plants. Otherwise it’s a good scenery. The lunch afterwards was good. They gave options and it comes with desert and coffee. It’s worth it.

Central Valley tour

It was a good tour. Really enjoyed seeing the Central Valley. I would give tour 4.5; just wish we had known it would take 1 1/2 hours from our pick up just to pick up all other tour members. And the last to drop off of course. Tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable especially of the gardens. I’d recommend tour guide be a little more interactive throughout the drive and maybe an add more history to driving times. But enjoyed and would recommend but does include a lot of bus time

Not cooperative at all

Our flight got canceled so we were stuck in the US. That‘s why we couldn‘t participate. When we asked for a refund they didn‘t even give us half od the costs back. Not cooperative at all! Even after we explained to them our side of the story.

Not so interesting

This tour is sadly not as interesting as it seems, so we were a bit disappointed. Lunch was average and not as tasty as other local restaurants we tried on different tours. Antonio, however, is a nice, knowledgeable guide and careful driver. We enjoyed his company, although he is a bit slow paced and old fashioned for young, energetic people like us. We feel like he would be a better match for people aged 50+, who enjoy to take it slow and not walk too much. Overall, we feel this tour is overpriced for what it offers.

Not a bad tour. This is one of the most interesting places around of San Jose, while there is no access to Poas and Turrialba. In the orchid garden of Lankester in late February, orchids were very few. The park itself is beautiful
