We went during a raining season so expect the experience to be a bit more rough if you go during this time. The instructors were great, kind, patient and guided you. Shot out to Luis Fer he was very patient and attentive and a good instructor.

We were picked up at our hotel and driven to the diving school. We had booked the tour in English and once it was clear that my Spanish was not going to be good enough to follow and simultaneously translate to my husband the detailed safety instructions, one of the instructors brought his English speaking colleague Carlos who gave the group bilingual instructions in a pool on how to breathe, recover the mouth piece if lost, descend, visual cues to communicate under water etc. I struggled with the breathing at first and was a bit stressed and Carlos was fantastic in taking the time to explain everything, giving good advice on the things I was struggling with and generally be very reassuring. After the initial practice we went into the sea for a more or less 40 minute dive. Together with two of his colleagues accompanying the group taking care of groups of about 2-3 people each, Carlos kept a close eye on everyone, kept people close who had gotten worried in the pool or the ocean, checked in regularly that we were doing ok and took plenty of pictures that we could purchase after the tour. He also checked our air levels and kept my husband close once he saw that he was using too much air and made sure the full experience went very smoothly. It was great to see some coral and fish and descend until the ocean floor in the spot where we were. After the dive, we could look at the pictures and decide whether we wanted to buy them (we did, they were great!) and were brought back to the hotel. We would fully recommend this experience to anyone who would like to try out how to dive!
