A highly recommended experience at the Amalfi coast

We had a wonderful day with Carlo of Amalfi Boat Rental when we drove with him the boat along the Amalfi coast. We saw several cities and other points of interest on which Carlo shared nice background stories. We were able to stop for a swim on several points and to enjoy the relaxing tour as we wished - enjoying the sun & sea & sights either laying on the front deck or sitting at the back of the boat. Carlo provided some soft drinks and snacks during the cruise before we landed for a lunch at the nice restaurant where Carlo had booked the table for us. Summa summarum: we had a superb day that we remembered and discussed a lot, also after returning back to Finnland. We can say that the cruise day with Carlo is highly recommended experience that should not be missed!

This was our absolute favorite day on our trip to Italy! We cruised along the Amalfi Coast and found some amazing hidden gem coves to explore and swim including a cave and waterfall! We went with our two kids ages 13 and 10 and they are still talking about this experience. The boat itself is 5-star super clean with an area for changing, hot shower off the back of the boat and a bathroom. Thank you Carlo for the best day and our favorite day in Italy!

If you are considering a private boat tour in Amalfi we highly recommend this one. Carlo was our captain/tour guide and was a fantastic host for the day. He was very professional and friendly and took us to unique areas along the coast line that we would have otherwise not seen. The additional service with a variety of snacks and drinks + prosecco throughout the day made the trip a memorable one,

Captain Carlo was fantastic! Great and timely communication from start to finish. Beverages and snacks were provided as well as a cooler with room with more as desired. The tour timing along the Amalfi coast and Capri was wonderful. We all loved swimming in the beautiful coves. The warm shower on the back deck was delightful. Loved lunch in Nerano. Highly recommended. Our favorite day in Italy.

Carlos was very patient with all of our requests and he dropped us of for lunch in a very good place with honest food!! It was one of the highlights of our holiday at Italy!! We had an unforgettable experience. It is not one of the usual organized tours but, thanks to the Captain's experience, we customized our trip by visiting incredible places that we had never heard of before. On the Amalfitan Coast there are many places that can only be reached by boat and deserve to be visited at least once in a lifetime. The boat is beautiful, very clean and finished. The added value of this day on the boat is undoubtedly Captain Carlo. A special thanks for all the advice, for the availability, kindness and passion shown! We hope to return one day with our children!

This private tour is a cuddle for the eyes and for the soul. It was an incredible day, you can choose to customize your trip but I advise you to rely on the advice of the captain who is an expert connoisseur of the Amalfi coast. Request Carlo as your captain, he is truly a kind person and will make your day unforgettable. We also purchased the drone photoshoot and now have some amazing photos from this day! Highly recommended.

This is probably the most boring private tour in my travel life so far. I’ve been to many different countries and had countless private tours, and never have I wish that I should have just paid less and went with a group. I was really hoping for a good captain/tour guide, we got a captain who was not even mentioned in any of the previous review. We spent 9-4pm with him, in 7 hours, he probably spoke for a total of 20 minutes. When we pass by a place, he just tells us the name and move on. No history lesson. No interesting stories. We asked some questions, no answer given. No snack, no wine. This was our first private tour on the Amalfi coast, so we thought all Italian tour guides are like this, until we met other private tour companies days after, we realized that we really got ripped off. They text you within a few days of your booking to let you know that there is a fuel fee of 400 that needs to be paid by cash on the day of. After that, you won’t hear from them until the day before. By then it will be too late to cancel anything. The day before the tour, they will tell you that you either have to pick the Amalfi coast or Capri. Not both. They also won’t tell you in advance that they won’t stop and let you off on Capri island unless you want to pay extra 100 euro, or eat at this bad restaurant that offers boat service to come pick you up from their boat. Otherwise, you wont even be let off on the island. So don’t bother making any lunch reservations in advance. And good luck trying to get a same day reservation at any decent places. They pick you up in Amalfi, not Positano, don’t get fooled by the website posting. A one way taxi ride from Positano to Amalfi in the morning costed 110 euro, round trip would be extra 220euro. You will have to get to the pier in Amalfi on your own. But of course, you won’t know that until it’s too late to cancel. When we got on the boat, we have no directions on what to expect, I told the captain what I wanted to see, white grotto, blue grotto, emerald grotto, and the historical sites. Captain said, if you want to go blue grotto, that will be the only thing you do because the line is long (even tough we left at 8:45AM) it was still too “crowded”. So what’s the point of asking what I want to see? For a private tour, I expected to have clear communication and plans well in advance, not after cancellation window expires. DO NOT ASK FOR FOOD RECOMMENDATIONS!!! We end up trying this place they recommended in Nerona (on our way back). There were many 5 stars restaurants, but they partner with the worst one, the food was so bad (and the reviews reflects but we had no options that was the only one the captain will call and make reservations for us. We had two reservations in Capri but couldn’t get off the boat). I can’t tell you what I learned from this trip because the captain barely spoke. There wasn’t even music or any entertainment. I really wish I’ve gotten a better tour guide instead of a boat driver.

Dear Christina, We are sincerely sorry to receive your unfavorable opinion for a negative experience that did not depend on us but only on your personal choices. To make you understand how much we care about customer satisfaction, we will take the time to respond point by point to your unjust and false claims. - We offer tours from both Amalfi and Positano and you chose the cheapest one departing from Amalfi. If you had chosen the tour departing from Positano you would have started from Positano. - You arrived on the boat already unwell from the high cost of the taxi to reach Amalfi, but this does not depend on us. We are not the taxi service. - You bought a private boat tour not a tour guide, it's not written anywhere that you would get a tour guide, why did you expect one? Despite this Captain Carlo is an expert local sailor and the reviews of all clients reflect his knowledge of the Amalfi Coast and his professionalism in telling his clients about it. - When we receive a booking request we make sure that the customer is aware of all costs, what is included and what is excluded. All booking details are also described on your ticket and on the website. You received a message 6 months before departure and you replied to this message accepting all the conditions. You received an additional reminder 3 days before departure and could have canceled everything free of charge if you wanted. - Drinks, snacks and fruit were offered on board but you always refused everything, perhaps you thought they were for a fee? - In the tour program (which, at this point, I think you haven't read) disembarkation on the island is not foreseen but upon request guests can use the main pier of Capri by paying the fee required by the port. All the other customers who chose to visit Capri had to pay the port fee to access the island, no one before your comment thought to review our services with one star because they found the port fee unfair and high! We are not the port. - And here we are at the central point, the restaurant. Ignoring our advice, you chose the restaurant yourself. The first restaurant you booked was a 50-minute walk from the port of Capri but you didn't want to use the port to avoid the port tax. You have booked a second restaurant that cannot be reached by boat but they would have come to get you directly on board, unfortunately after an hour and a half and dozens of phone calls no one has arrived. At this point, you further irritated, you asked the captain to book a restaurant for you in Nerano. We don't collaborate with anyone in particular, you had lunch in the only one available without a reservation. If you didn't like the service and the food that was offered to you, why are you giving a 1-star review for the boat tour? Here too we have to answer that we are not the restaurant. - The captain told us that to try to remedy the unforeseen events that had happened to you, he postponed the return for an hour to allow you to sail and swim along the Amalfi coast as well. At the end of the day your WhatsApp message “Today is Amazing" and then this review is confusing us a bit and maybe makes us think that you enjoy venting your dissatisfaction on us. We have reported your profile to the Viator staff, providing the necessary explanations and the conversations between you and me. I sincerely hope that they are able to protect the users of the community from people like you.

This boat tour was the highlight of our two weeks in Italy. Captain Carlo was very friendly, laid-back and an excellent boat driver. He took us to all the amazing swimming spots around Capri, with crystal blue waters and showed us all the caves and rock formations along the way. We stopped for lunch in a small fishing village before more swimming. The whole day was incredible, we didn't want it to end!! Thank you Carlo!!

The tour with Carlo was amazing. The boat was wonderful and Carlo was an exceptional guide. We traveled from Amalfi to Capri and stopped for lunch at a beautiful little restaurant. We went swimming, and the day was not hurried at all. Also Carlos selection and music was outstanding. I highly recommend the tour.
