Amazing food tour with local chef!

    Alexis_W, Aug 2025
We had a fantastic time on this tour. The guide is super friendly and knows so much about the local food scene. We tried a great mix of tasty street eats, and got to hear cool stories about each dish, as well as the history and culture of Quito. We really loved going off the beaten path to unique and local places. This really enhanced the experience! It was not just a “tourist” tour. We even got a recommendation and reservations for an AMAZING dinner after the tour. We highly recommend this tour. If you are interested in the Quito food scene, do not miss this tour.

    Great food tour

Great tour for both an insight on the people and their food. Do not eat too much before the tour as the tasting portions are very generous!

    Best tour ever!!!

This was a terrific tour! We can't recommend this more highly -- super fun, not your 'usual' city tour, or even food tour, but going to the places where the people who live in Quito go, to eat the food that they eat, all while learning about the city and the people and Ernesto himself. It really was so much more than we could have expected (and yummy too)!

    Great food tour!

I really enjoyed this tour. Ernesto, our tour guide, was personable, knowledgeable, and spoke English well. The food was delicious and was representative of the foods of Ecuador. I would highly recommend this tour.

Awesome off the beaten bath experience

This was a great experience to see the murals, learn about the history behind them, see the Quito most tourists don’t get to see, and try local the gems. I felt super safe and really enjoyed absorbing the knowledge he had to offer. Definitely recommend!

    Absolutely worth it

The tour with Ernesto was absolutely perfect for our first day in Quito. Every single bite and drink on this tour was delicious. We are both vegetarian and really appreciated this being taken into consideration. Ernesto was highly knowledgeable on the city and culture and incorporated some art into our tour. I highly recommend this tour!

Amazing off the beaten path experience

This tour was everything we wanted for our first day in Quito! Ernesto gave us an amazing experience by bringing us to restaurants and markets that we would have never thought to go to that are mostly eaten at by locals. One of the markets we walked through had people doing metal work, making goods for kitchens among other things by hand! The food was amazing, the background of the city and Ecuador that he provided was excellent, and we got to end the tour in a cool artist collective space. We had an amazing time, thank you so much!
