Learned so much about this hidden gem for foodies. Santiago, our guide, made this a wonderful learning experience.

    Best tour experience ever!

    Linda_L, Jan 2026
Bring a big appetite to this tour because you’ll need it for all the delicious foods Santiago has you experience. We have traveled all over the world and this is one of the best, if not the best, tour we’ve ever taken. Santiago is friendly, easy to communicate with and so knowledgeable about the food and city he loves. Do not hesitate to go on this tour to experience Ecuadorian food only a local would know about! Thank you, Santiago for such a great day!

    Delicious Food in Quito

Our excellent guide, Ernesto, showed us a part of the Quito food scene we would have never found on our own. The food was fantastic and Ernesto’s discussions were informative and fun. We happily recommend this tour.

We had an absolutely fabulous time! The food was all amazing, huge variety, fresh and delicious. Santiago was knowledgeable and fun and such an enjoyable guide. We learned about local culture and Ecuadorian history and food and so much more. The art and coffee and chocolate at the end was a great treat, too!

    Great food tour!

    Anita_G, Apr 2025
This was a great food tour and Santiago was an excellent guide. We've found a great way to learn about a region and culture is through its cuisine. This tour did not disappoint. It was a wonderful experience! Santiago was friendly and very knowledgeable. All our stops were interesting, the food provided was delicious and plentiful (do not eat before this tour!), and Santiago provided a wonderful overview of Ecuadorian culture. He chose delicious spots to introduce us to the local food and drink. He also pointed out several sights along the way including an interesting street with beautiful street art and an artist coop. A bit pricey but well worth the cost. Highly recommend.

A must do tour for any foodie or visitor to Quito

    Brad_R, Apr 2025
We always enjoy a foodie walking tour early in visiting a new city. This Quito version excelled thanks to Santi, our guide. We were exposed to more unique foods than imaginable. Ecuador is truly a foodie paradise. Santi also introduced us to the local art scene and it's impressive graffiti.

    Overpriced

    Michael_C, Mar 2025
Very good sample of street foods of Ecuador but terribly overpriced. We paid 400 dollars for 3 people and the food cost in total couldn’t have been more than 50 dollars (and likely much less). The guide was fine but the tour was a ripoff.

Highly recommend Santiago as a guide

    Yvette_W, Feb 2025
It was a pleasant surprise to have Santiago as my tour guide for the second time during my trip. He took me to more places than I expected and all were unique in their own way. Not only did I get to try new and delicious foods, we visited a small gallery for a coffee tasting, saw lots of great street art and two incredible markets. Santiago was very knowledgeable about architecture and local history. He also helped me pick out local music CDs. All in all, it was a delightful experience.

Introduction to a city’s culture and vibe through food

    Allison_C, Dec 2024
Really enjoyed the hole in the wall places we got to sample food. The tour was larger in group number than I expected based on the description but I get the sense this tour and locations visited are somewhat customized but the group dynamic which is great.

Engaging tour with lots to eat

    Ellyce_B, Dec 2024
Santi was an excellent guide, knowledgeable and engaging. Communication with the tour provider was very good. The food sampling was both delicious and plentiful - as a local, Santi knew the spots to visit. We had a good time talking about the cultural life of Quito while seeing some of the sites of old town and the surrounding area. Nice combo of culinary and culture. I would recommend this tour.

    A wonderful introduction to Quito!

    Robin_W, Dec 2024
Our guide Santiago was delightful! He picked us up from our hotel, and we walked to various markets/stalls and shops. It was our first day in Quito, so it gave us a good overview of the area. We tried different fruits, drinks, savoury and fried food, and a delicious cheese pastry that Santiago said was the best in Quito. I believe him..I subsequently had one at the airport that wasn’t up to scratch! We also got a good view of the city from the Basilica, and saw some incredibly beautiful street art.

Excellent Introduction to Ecuadorian Culture and Food

    Cathianna_B, Dec 2024
Phenomenal. Part food tour, part historical tour, part walking tour, part cultural tour. Our guide was Santiago - he was extremely warm and knowledgable, and his passion for Ecuadorian culture was contagious. Tour only had three people and felt more like hanging with a friend who was showing you their favorite spots. Of course, I forgot to take pictures of most of the food, but I can assure you it was all amazing and you will struggle and fail to find comparable food on your own. Highlights on my tour (but tours will vary) were all the amazing fruits, ceviche, empanadas de verde, and encebollado. None seen pictured here, lol, my apologies. Santiago ended our tour at a local artists' coop space where we tasted some local chocolates, beer, and tequila. Tour seems expensive compared to others on the site but is 100% worth it, in my opinion. Santiago will also help you with tips and recommendations for the remainder of your trip. Skip breakfast to fully enjoy - there is a ton of food.

Book it! Enjoy the local experience!!

    Erika_J, Nov 2024
The food tour with Daniella was incredible! The food was impeccable and very authentic. Daniella was attentive to our needs, first we want to thank her again as we were running behind. She was super patient and kind upon our arrival. We jumped right into our juice and local fruit tastings, we ate local ceviche, Empanada de Vientow, local fish, yuca, rice, and took a great tour around the old town area. We will definitely recommend others to take this tour

Great way to learn about Quito

    Dina_R, Nov 2024
Santiago too us to some do the best local spots for food, including a fruit market where we tried a plethora of local fruits. In addition to food we were able to visit neighborhoods we wouldn’t have gone to and Street art as well.

Excellent experience Definitely tried food we normally wouldn’t have been brave enough our guide Santiago was amazing

Great food, great walk, great person to spend a day with.

    Matthew_B, Sep 2024
Pamela was super personable and knowledgeable about Quitó and it's sights. We tried a great variety of food and at a pace that made the experience enjoyable. I would very much recommend this tour for first or even second time visitors to Quitó.

I dont usually bother with reviews- but this one deserves it.

    JLenise_L, Sep 2024
I went with tour guide Santiago. He was fantastico! Knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and well versed on a varitety of topics from food (of course) to art, politics, South American history, and music. I enjoyed it all Highly recommend.

Make this tour a priority while in Quito

    Sadie_C, Jul 2024
We had a fantastic time with our guide, Santiago. The food was delicious - best empanadas we’ll probably ever eat - and the overview Santiago provided of Ecuadorian flavors, ingredients, and cultural traditions was top notch. It was like a half-day Quito city tour with historical information and lots of amazing food. Trust me - you want to take this tour.
